Doncaster at home home many will turn up before the circus game midweek chelsea , so dissapointed today with the crowd, we are top of this division but our fan base is all over the place,
that's a shocking turn out today.
Luckily it has not effected the team but we are not one of the best supported teams even in this low division. The team are playing the best style and exiting football for years, top of the league, and we cannot reach 18,000 in a 33,000 capacity stadium apart from the chelsea game shortly .
I for one will be at the Doncaster game, but not the chelsea,
but there again for Exeter and stevenage,
why can' t we hit 20,000 now we are top of this division is baffling.

Crowd shocking today.
This should be a good crowd because I'm sure it's the game where the club have put on half price tickets?
I'll say this - Stevenage and Doncaster are much, much more important than Chelsea.

The atmosphere is embarrassing and dreadful most games I've found this season as it's gone on. You would think we are in the bottom 3 of the division. As for the attendance we have Always had a fair weather fan base when it suits who use rain and other excuses. We are nowhere near as big as some think we are sadly unless it's a top elite team that's when they come out the woodwork even during a tsunami they would show up for such games then, then go back to it
Sun Dec 07, 2025 12:34 am
I don't think crowds will ever recover not while you can stream every game
Sun Dec 07, 2025 12:38 am
Good crowd today. We are in Div 3. Our promotion game in 82-83 v Orient we had 10,000. Escaping your head is a great skill.

Wayne Nash and the stewards under his instruction must take a lot of the blame

It really should reach 20,000
Sun Dec 07, 2025 8:27 am
Listen .ive supported city since 1975 and its always been the same .absoutley baffling the variations in crowds we get .ironically in my first season we had the game agains hereford crowd 36000 .most of that season we struggled to get over 10000.

Really poor in terms of number yesterday, and also noise generated by those who were there. Large periods of silence.
Sun Dec 07, 2025 9:04 am
But this is our fan base unfortunately.
We’re in League one.
In the championship we’ll get a few thousand more if we’re doing well.
And again in the Prem we’ll a few thousand more of course.
We have the hard core of fans and then the floaters.
It’s always been the same really.

The Team and Our Club and Manager Deserve crowds like that.
Bolton and Bradford are gutting bigger than that.

I know and we should be getting bigger but like everyone else I don’t understand why!

Its coming up to Christmas and season tickets holders aside, people don't necessarily have the funds to attend every game even if they want to. I'm going to Stevenage on Tuesday and am intending to go to the Doncaster game, but I had to make the decison that £30 just before Christmas for the Chelsea game was out of reach, so have foregone that chance. I think a lot will also want to go to Lincoln as its another big game just before Christmas and we are home on Boxing Day too. Away games have been very well attended as there are a lot of new grounds for many to go too - life is expensive and people have to make choices... The way I see it is that we are getting the crowds I would expect us to get in League One even if we are top of that league.

I think the live streaming has a big part to play but hopefully get bak up to championship and crowds will come bak if the football continues to get better .
I’ve heard quite a few have bought tickets for the Chelsea game in Cardiff end but are just going to watch Chelsea

Sadly, for lots of reasons, there is (possibly was for many years before Sam’s revival) an apathy around the club with so many ‘
floaters’, we could create our own Armada down The Bay!
In reality, all we can do is turn up ourselves, and encourage others to do the same
As we’re now proving, ‘
success’ is measured by far too many in ‘
who’ we are playing, rather than ‘
how’ we are doing!
Loyal supporters or glory hunters? Sadly, it’s a modern question!

A horrible day, early kick off, live on sky, and the Rhymney trains were not running.
The early kick off is hard for kids' sports, people working till 12:00! I wouldn't turn down a Sat morning for Huddersfield town
We are doing well with young homegrown players, but its the third tier.
If i never had a season ticket, i would have taken any one of those reasons to watch it at home or the pub and save my money for next week or Chelsea.
Sun Dec 07, 2025 3:58 pm
The excuses just keep coming .the chelsea game is mid week .people will either been in work or school in the day weather most likely wet and miserable.the traffic cardiff will be horrendous .public transport a nightmare.tickets wernt cheap but there will be over 30000 in attendance against doncaster probably less then 16000.

It is always expected really
when you drop to League 1 you are not expecting the same levels of crowd attendances
due to the fact that we are not facing teams like a Wrexham or Southampton.
Even though we are flying in League 1 at the top i am expecting more crowds to attend
games at home more nearer the end of this season, if things stay as they are with it being very close
in terms of points on the table.
Never going to get over 22 thousand unless Tan leaves the club.
The damage he has caused throughout the club over the years is irreversible.
And fans will suffer as a result until Mr.Tan leaves Cardiff City FC.
For me the team is doing amazing at the top of the table
But with games being played at different times i feel it's still
very much all to play for.

I grew up with 2000 to 4000 average crowds.. so 16000 is fabulous for this league... And to be honest I expected 10000 average this season

I hope plenty turn up for Doncaster as this is more important than the chelsea game ,
sikens me that fans will all turn out in numbers for the glamour games chelsea and swansea once a season just to sing sh.gged by your fathers .
Sun Dec 07, 2025 9:00 pm
Not sure why we are expecting more to be honest?
Our last two seasons at this level we averaged 12000 and 13000 odd. That was with us riding high on a crest of investment and success. We just aren’t as well supported as we think.
18000 is perfectly fine.
Mon Dec 08, 2025 10:05 am
Crowd for Saturday was just over 16,000 and nearly 500 were from huddersfield .
Mon Dec 08, 2025 10:15 am
Of course we should get 20,000 Home Crowds
We are a Massive Club in this League and TOP with many local players and playing beautiful football
Bolton and Bradford get more and they have massive competition we don’t.
David Temme said once “Cardiff fans are Cherry pickers “
I’ve been going since 1972 and it’s true for years we chose two to three home games a season, I really thought we had changed.

Yes it was my ,missis said it looked awful on the tv like the covid era again.
You could perhaps understood if we were playing the bottom club in this division ,
but huddersfield are a decent team and we're in the top 10 ,I will be there this sat doncaster let's hope there is an improvement.

Confusing me a bit here; can you remind me how many tickets are sold for the Chelsea game?
For some strange reason (surely can’t be the opposition, could it?) we could actually have sold more than capacity on this occasion!

The whole post confused me.
Our highest crowds in years have been with Tan as our owner.
Our crowds are success based, always have been and always will be.
