About Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield are in their second successive season in this league, having been relegated from the Championship in 2024.

Last season they finished 10th.

Many people expected them to be in the promotion picture this season. They are currently 8th with 26 points from their 17 games.

As a player, he was a goalkeeper and made over 450 league appearances.

Opposition Dangerous Players

Alfie May has been on the bench recently but did score 16 goals last season. He scored their late equaliser on Saturday from the bench.

Leo Castledine is on loan from Chelsea and has four goals.

Elliot Bell will take charge of this game. It's his second City match this season, after the home win against Swindon in the Carabao Cup.

This season, he has shown 82 yellow cards across 24 games - an average of 3.4 per game.

He has also showed three red cards.

Head To Head - Last Five Meetings

Huddersfield have won three of the last five meetings, although we have won the last two.

The last of these was in the Championship in March 2024. We won 1-0 at CCS.

Murray Wallace marked his first Huddersfield Town appearance since September by setting up Joe Taylor's second-half opener at Lincoln City, putting the Terriers on course for a victory they sealed through Wallace's 90th-minute header in a 2-0 win.

Good Win for Huddersfield tonight and their 1st clean sheet in 11 games .

We've got three games before Chelsea so would hope they're not looking that far ahead.

Huddersfield Town boss Lee Grant has hailed his side's confidence levels after Tuesday's 2-0 victory over Lincoln City in the EFL Vertu Trophy.

The Terriers, who scored twice in the second half to knock out their fellow League One promotion hopefuls, have won three of their past five games in all competitions.

"I enjoyed every bit of that - from start to finish, I thought we were really good," Grant told BBC Radio Leeds.

"The confidence - I could see a few chests out and shoulders pinned back, and that was lovely to see. That really flattened the stadium, I think that flattened their team and gave us a boost."

Lincoln are five points above Huddersfield in League One, but Grant felt confident his side would be the one to progress in the competition.

"I wasn't in any doubt that this group could produce a level like that," the 42-year-old added.

BBM:

“Gabriel Osho came off in the game on Tuesday with a dislocated toe," said Brian. "He’ll be assessed and scanned today.

"We’re not sure on the timescale yet, but he won’t be available on the weekend. The longer he's been here, the more obvious it's been to his teammates how important he will be for us in the long run, and obviously he wants to show that to the supporters as well.

He concluded: “Ollie’s doing really well, he’s starting to join little parts of our training but we’re keeping our expectations realistic in terms of when and where he will return.

"We’re still looking towards the end of December for a return to game action based on how much we have to train him because of how long he’s been out."

Huddersfield Town injuries and absences -

Jack Whatmough (calf) and Marcus McGuane (groin) are still working their way back from injury, with Whatmough ‘progressing nicely’ through the later stages of his recovery.

Mickel Miller is ruled out until around late January with a hamstring injury.

Herbie Kane has returned to light individual training but is still some way off returning from his groin injury.

Antony Evans does not need surgery on the knee injury that forced him off against Luton last week, but is still expected to be out for ‘a couple of months’.

Will Alves (foot) and Zepiqueno Redmond (knee) remain out for the longer term.

I hope to see some more rotation during this busy period, keeps the team fresh.

No chance of 442 and rightly so, there's a reason hardly any teams start like that anymore - it doesn't work.

I am not sure if professional managers even take conditions into account like us parks-based lads. Today is not a day for intricate, clever passing (only) its winning second ball as the weather will make basic passes a little more difficult.

I want to see Wintle Robertson and Joel in Rubin position. I'd rather NG today over Kpackio is defence, allowing him to push further forward with Davies on the other flank. I don't think this is a day for Willock to start.
