Substitutes: Turner, Osho, Turnbull, Willock, Robertson, Ng, Robinson.

INJURY UPDATE:

BBM:

“ TANNER IS BACK ON GRASS TRAING / BUT NO DATE YET”

Chris Willock and Perry Ng, meanwhile, could well be in contention.

"Chris and Perry joined us on Monday so I guess there are some questions on how ready those guys are for a Saturday based on what they've been through, but we're still trying to give them every chance to be competing for a place in our squad."

BBM:

“Will Fish has been training”

“Since the game against Newport County, Will has had a knee problem and we’ve been monitoring him since then.”

"Due to the nature of Dylan Lawlor’s issues, we’ve been quite stretched so Will has been the one who has played all the games, whereas we have rotated the other position at centre-back.”

“The international fixtures came at a good time for us to try and get everyone fit.”

“Will joins Perry Ng, who we’ll look to have back after the international fixtures and Chris Willock is in an identical timeline to Perry.”

“Ollie Tanner is making good progress and Eli King is longer term.”

“Eli King is out for the season.”

It's difficult to predict any game for cardiff as we are all over the place, we have struggled against the top teams but also teams at the bottom .
Who would have thought up the result at Blackpool all we can do is hope we win which does not fill anyone with confidence, Northampton are mid table ,we could have a great day and thrash them, or again we could be thrashed.

Dean Campbell, Max Dyche and Michael Forbes are all back in training this week and should be available for Saturday’s visit of Cardiff City.
The trio have been on the sidelines with various injuries in recent weeks but all three are on the comeback trail. Nesta Guinness-Walker, currently out due to a shoulder strain, is scheduled to train later in the week and could also be in contention for Saturday, while Liam Shaw continues to work his way back from a long-term ACL injury.

In less good news, however, Sam Hoskins, Jack Vale and Joe Wormleighton are not particularly close to returning.
"Most of the squad are now back in full training and will be available for the weekend providing they get through the next few days,” confirmed Kevin Nolan on Tuesday. “I’ll have a bit of a selection headache, not only for the starting line-up but also for the bench.
"Hosk, Valey and Worms will be a bit longer. They need a bit of time and we’ll give them that time because we don’t want to rush them back, especially with where everybody else is at.
"Dean and Dychey have trained this week but Nesta will be another few days and we’ll give him a bit of time. He could make the weekend but we won’t rush him because Perks (Jack Perkins) has been doing brilliantly and Forbes is also back in now so we have plenty of options.

“We’re in a good place and we’ve built a squad that can cope with any setbacks so we won’t hide behind injuries.”

Cobblers midfielder Liam Shaw is expected to make his return from an ACL injury in the next three to four weeks.
The 24-year-old impressed in his early weeks as a Northampton player after joining from Fleetwood at the start of the January transfer window but suffered a serious knee injury against Barnsley on February 25th.

Jon Guthrie sustained a similar injury the previous month and he made his return to action last week, coming on as a late substitute in the EFL Trophy against Shrewsbury, and Shaw is not far behind him."Liam’s back training now but obviously we will take our time with him as we did with Jon,” confirmed Kevin Nolan. “We haven’t earmarked a game at the moment because we need to take it day by day and do the same thing as what we did with Jon.

Cardiff City boss Brian Barry-Murphy has given an injury update ahead of this weekend’s game against Northampton.
The Bluebirds won five of their first six league games this season but go into Saturday’s trip to Sixfields on the back of successive away defeats, beaten by Bolton and then Blackpool

“Ollie Tanner is back on the pitch now, he’s running,” said Barry-Murphy. “He’s had ankle surgery so it gives us a big boost to see him on the pitch. I still wouldn’t put a timescale on when he’s likely to return.

“Chris Willock and Perry Ng joined us in training on Monday and I guess there’s a question mark over how ready they are for Saturday based on what they’ve been through. We’re still trying to give them every chance to be competing for a place in the squad.

“We trained pretty intensely last week because so many of our academy players featured in the game against Arsenal. The players who didn’t play in that game trained for the rest of the week and that has put us in a good position. Fingers crossed that when we train this afternoon (Thursday), we’ll have a clean bill of health.”
Despite their recent stutter, Cardiff could still go top of League One with victory at Sixfields.

Barry-Murphy added: “Always, you’re looking to establish momentum and get a rhythm in the players where they feel as if it’s not stop-start but the nature of the season is there have been international breaks, which have been beneficial for different reasons.
“This next stage of the season is one where it’s quite beneficial for us to have all the players fit and available as of now because there are so many different games. As long as we perform to the level that we can, they’ll all be needed.”
