Aaron Ramsey terminates his contract at Pumas in Mexico and leaves the club with immediate effect.
Ramsey made six appearances, scoring one goal after joining Pumas in the summer.

It was a crazy idea in the first place.

He just needs to retire. He was finished two years ago and going to Mexico was a bizarre decision.

I agree. I wasn't bothered by him leaving because like you say, he just needs to retire due to his fitness issues.
I know his dog went missing in Mexico and that affected him but he has also had more injury problems over there.
But yes, it was a strange decision to go there in the first place.

New Wrexham manager.

My View:
Ramsey was virtually finished playing football well over 2yrs ago and the facts say that as well

Ramsey leaving his club after a few games? …….. I could have written the script.

I'm just glad he came back and beat the Jack's, scoring a class penalty. Top night that

This, he’s hung on for way too long sadly. Time to retire

said at the last international break he was done with his playing career
hopefully Bellamy might get him involved in the Wales coaching team
I think that would be a good move for ramsay and wales

Loved following Ramsey since his first time playing for us and what a career he has had .His body has taken a beating in that time.
Enough is enough now and at 34 its no shame to call it a day

Some people gave the club massive flak when city did not offer him a position at end of his contract It was clear he wanted to continue to play and let’s face it time has caught up with this wonderful player Mexico always seemed a strange option

Way way to long Simon,
Cost us a fortune and we had virtually Nothing back.

It was a strange move.
Losing his 10 year dog has obviously affected the whole family.

Really excited when he came back but 5 years too late. A lot of money for one penalty against Swansea, I suppose that makes it worth it haha

I agree with everything you're saying but to be fair I was at Leicester when he scored that goal just before half time and it was a great moment, even though we ended up losing the game.

Yeah that was a great strike but the good memories are few and far between sadly.

Bring him home
Sat Nov 01, 2025 3:36 pm
Get him back to the club in a coaching role. Time for him to hang up his playing boots

I'm sure the situation is more than losing the dog. Wasn't it taken from a dog day care centre? Sounds more like he/ his family been targeted
Sat Nov 01, 2025 5:08 pm
Yeah. Does sound a bit dodgy doesn't it. Got to be more to it than that

I would not want to remain in the area if I experienced what he has just gone through.
I can just imagine the criminal organisations would target him and his family and there is a lack of confidence in the authorites to proect its own. Most of them get paid off.

Spot on, Ian
Mexico us a scary place to live, if you’re not corrupt or compliant, but I guess few on here have been on a ‘safe’ two week holiday to Cancun, so are ‘
genned up’ on the place!
Like many, I thought it was an odd move, but I could see the altitude situation with the World Cup going there next year
Not sure about his playing career anymore. I certainly don’t blame him for wanting ‘
one last shot’, as we’re all a long time retired, but this won’t help his fitness, his chances of playing at an acceptable level, and/or the likelihood of Craig Bellamy having in his playing squad anytime soon
Sadly, I fear his time may be up on that front, but he can look back at an incredible career when he stands down!

Don’t think he made a good decision going there, really weird choice, maybe the only offer he had but for a guy with as much money as he has it was strange. Coming to play for us didn’t work out, bar getting paid a fortune neither did the move to juventus. Some might also say, quite harshly, that had he chosen Man Utd over Arsenal he’d have 3 PL titles too compared to non at Arsenal, where he wasn’t even that appreciated by their delusional fans.

Would you take him back till end of the season?

desbluebird wrote:Would you take him back till end of the season?
He could train with the club & see how it goes fitness wise & maybe pay as you play basis, his experience is invaluable in my opinion and we lack an experienced head at the moment.
He should hang up his boots though as his injury record the last couple of years hasn't been good. That can only be his decision though.

desbluebird wrote:Would you take him back till end of the season?
No. I said at the end of last season that it was right for him to leave.
Undoubtedly has quality but his fitness has gone.
Time for him to retire - said that at the end of last season and nothing has changed.

Ramsey reportedly was looking for the dog in Guanajuato....... Why would you go there, very strange move.
Guanajuato:
High Crime Rates: The state of Guanajuato has faced an increase in security incidents and has one of Mexico's highest homicide rates, driven by conflicts between rival organized crime groups (cartels).
Specific Areas of Concern: Travel advisories from the U.S. and UK governments advise against all but essential travel to the areas south-west of Federal Highway 45D, which includes cities like Celaya, Irapuato, and Salamanca, due to rampant organized crime activity and the potential for shootouts that can catch bystanders in the crossfire.
