FT: Wales 2-4 Belgium
Wales' hopes of qualifying automatically for the World Cup end.
Guaranteed to be in the play-offs because of the Nations League. Will finish 2nd if we beat Liechtenstein and North Macedonia next month.
Poor defending cost us tonight.

World Cup qualifier: Wales v Belgium
Venue: Cardiff City Stadium Date: Monday, 13 October Kick-off: 19:45 BST
Coverage: Live on BBC One Wales, BBC3 and iPlayer, BBC Radio Wales, Radio Cymru, BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds, the BBC Sport website and app, plus live text commentary.
Ben Davies is set to become Wales men's latest centurion with manager Craig Bellamy predicting a big future off the field for the "beyond impressive" Tottenham Hotspur defender.
The former Swansea City player's 100th cap will come when he leads Wales against Belgium in Monday's crucial World Cup qualifier against Belgium in Cardiff on Monday.
Davies, 32, will join former team-mates Gareth Bale, Chris Gunter and Wayne Hennessey in reaching that mark with Bale's 111-men's Wales cap record in Davies' sights.
Bellamy said: "I watched the game back against Canada (in September) and he (Davies) was so good. He was just amazing – every part of his game. As good as I've ever seen him play for Wales, that was my feeling.
"We can all agree that he's been a top player. But we are all very impressed with him as an individual, as a person.
"You can see when he does interviews. He's very impressive. He will be a top manager if he wants to be. Or he could become a director of football, or a CEO (chief executive officer).
"He's that level and beyond impressive as a person. His level of consistency – and his consistency of being available – is a credit to him."

BBC Wales Sport on Instagram are reporting that Lawler, Isaak and Joel C have missed out on the matchday squad submitted to UEFA.
Mon Oct 13, 2025 1:36 pm
Apparently only rubin and kapakio make the match day squad, Lawlor picked up a slight knock in training
Mon Oct 13, 2025 3:52 pm
Is Doku fit for Belgium? He absolutely destroyed us last time
Mon Oct 13, 2025 5:26 pm
As was said earlier, only two Cardiff City players in the matchday squad - with both Ronan Kpakio and Rubin Colwill on the bench.
Dylan Lawlor, Joel Colwill and Isaak Davies miss out.
WALES STARTING 11
Karl Darlow
Neco Williams
Ben Davies
Joe Rodon
Ben Cabango
Sorba Thomas
Ethan Ampadu
Jordan James
David Brooks
Harry Wilson
Mark Harris

What does he see in Mark Harris, he is a poor footballer who runs around like a headless chicken
Mon Oct 13, 2025 5:32 pm
Hopefully I'm proved wrong but banking on Mark Harris to score the very few chances we'll create is slightly concerning. Especially when we've got Brennan and Moore warming the bench. Harries works his socks off and is a Bellamy type player but we'll probably need to rely on keeping it tight and some big impact off the bench.

Agree with that but he scored a lot in League One and City fans have been raving about Rubin's form in League One.

I'd have brennan kiefer or even broadhead there before Harris I just don't think he has the ability to play that position in a game like tonight's
Hopefully he scores and shuts me right up

I'm glad Johnson is not in the starting 11, good shout Bellamy

You answered your own question.

A big ask to win this game tonight, looking at the Belgium team. I think a draw would be a good result based on our last few performances. Good luck to the boys

I’d rather him up top than Harris (who can’t hit a cows @rse with a shovel for Oxford.
Unless it’s a case of ‘run your boll0cks of for as long as possible and we’ll see where that gets us’.

Mark Harris should not be on squad on his dreadful form. How is morre or Johnson not above him...incredible decision for such a big game

Shocking decision and if he has a poor game and we lose comfortably then Bellamy will start to lose the goodwill he has built up. Harris is a league one standard striker and has never been prolific above this level.

We're all writing off Harris so it's guaranteed he scores the winner tonight

Maybe Harris is there to cause confusion for the Belgium defence Johnsons work rate is non existent and Moore is too slow. Perhaps bring them on at 60 mins with a different setup. Who knows, I'm sure Bellamy has a plan and hopefully a plan B and C should Harris fail to impact the game.

Good luck tonight, hope you win and qualify

If that's what it takes to win then he's the worst player ever. Prove me wrong MH!
Mon Oct 13, 2025 6:51 pm
I am amazed that Wilson is in the team tonight after his lack of effort against England. But …. Good start c’mon Cymru!!!
Mon Oct 13, 2025 6:52 pm
Good first five minutes from Wales
Mon Oct 13, 2025 6:55 pm
1-0 Wales
Joe Rodon
Deserved lead early on
Mon Oct 13, 2025 7:01 pm
Wilson booked.
Means he's suspended for the away game against Liechtenstein.
Mon Oct 13, 2025 7:04 pm
Penalty to Belgium.
Ampadu handball.
Very harsh.
Mon Oct 13, 2025 7:05 pm
1-1.
De Bruyne scores the penalty.
Mon Oct 13, 2025 7:08 pm
For me, a terrible decision. Defeders would need to have their arms amputated to avoid unintentional handballs leading to penalties
