MY VIEW: TONIGHT CARDIFF CITY PLAYED ROCK BOTTOM BURTON AND NOT ONLY LOST BUT FAILED TO SCORE A GOAL AGAINST A TEAM WHO HAD PREVIOUSLY LOST 4NIL.

Visitors Burton, Bottom of the league and without a Win in their last 8 League games:

We need to remind ourselves little Burton.

There will be more games like tonight to come.

We were not clinical and not getting stuck in tonight.

BBM made some big changes tonight from the team that won at Wigan

Tonight Showed City have a lot still to do and it’s getting frustrating in from of the opposition goals.

City once again dominated possession and controlled the game, But yet again struggled in the final hurdle in front of goal and for long periods it was quite boring.

A number of games, Vale, Stockport, Bradford etc have been similar like this season, We have struggled.

City’s second successive home defeat.

FIRST-HALF: 83% Cardiff possession

City 10 Shots / Burton 6 Shots

For 25mins City had totally dominated and had two good shots saved by the Burton goalie.

27min What a save from Nathan Trott! From point-blank range after George Evans sent a bullet header on target. Perry Ng then clears off the line! WOW

36 min Yousef Salech has the ball in the net - but it's ruled out! as Salech apparently fouled a Burton player?

Cardiff got a little sloppy and allowed Burton in to the game, Turnbull giving the ball away a few times.

SECOND-HALF: City played quite awful this half and very frustrating:

65 mins NG went off injured
Triple change for City: Omari, Ronan and Callum replace Ryan Wintle, Perry Ng and Cian Ashford.

Match was becoming very frustrating and City struggling to open up Burton

76min Joel Colwill replaced Turnbull

GOAL! Cardiff City 0-1 Burton Albion (Webster 82)
Goal! A long-throw causes chaos and Webster smashes home!
Dylan Lawlor half clears with a header but it's Charlie Webster who gets the better of the duel with Joel Colwill and he lashes home from 12 yards out.

89mins
- Tanatswa replaces Will Fish.

Will Fish, Dylan Lawlor, David Turnbull, Chris Willock and Yousef Salech came into the side:

- Ronan Kpakio returns but only fit enough for the bench

- Will Fish and Dylan Lawlor form the centre-back partnership

- Yousef Salech comes in up front for Callum Robinson

- David Turnbull replaces Joel Colwill in midfield

- Youngster Tanatswa Nyakuhwa gets a place on the bench

- Still NO Alex Robertson

Terrible result.

I know the referee was dreadful but we can't blame him.

We had the chances but didn't take them.

Burton did a job on us so fair play to them.

That is the first truly awful result this season, the team need to respond Saturday or we will be adrift of the top 2.

Dreadful freak result but sometimes these things happen. They parked the bus and got away with it. Just hope there is not a massive over reaction. What BBM needs to improve is the pace at how we attack. Colwill tonight showed exactly why he is not in the Wales squad. City are a young team. Patience these blips will happen but we are 4th after 10 games. I'll take that.

We’ve played a few bad games like tonight

And we have So many games coming up

Remember little Burton little Burton

Also before that Bradford home

It hurts

Well I disagree, we are strong enough.

We had an off night but we're 3 points off top. Not right to say we're not strong enough.

We had loads of chances but just didn't take them. That was the issue.

That was a dreadful display from City, and for the first time this season,I thought that was extremely poor management by BBM tonight. Turnbull was very poor in the first half and slowed the game down. Having said that, his replacement in the second half half, Joel Colwill had a poor game as well. Rubin Colwill was also poor tonight with wayward passes a constant theme. Ashford should put his chance away, as should Bagan in the first half with his wrong foot. The latter also gave the goal away with a very poor header out. . I felt sorry for Lawlor and Fish when they were bringing the ball out of defence, as nobody in front of them were finding space. Kpakio was also a liability when he came on.

Of course it hurts and I didn't expect that tonight but I maintain my point about patience. Its a young side.

That’s just it. This is not the only game we have played like this.

10 games in and my prediction is mid table.

Reminded me of last season.

We weren't unlucky we were just very poor and no amount of complaining about the referee is going to change that. We shouldn't even have been in a position to worry about how the ref was so bad, we should have been out of sight in the first 30 minutes. I wouldn't be complaining if their keeper had the night of his life & that's what kept us out but even I could have saved our poor efforts on goal & I haven't played for 40 years.

I hope your right that we are strong enough with all our matches coming up.

Yes we do have chances but fir the amount of possession we have been quite awful sometimes in front of goal.

We have struggled against Burton, Port Vale and Stockport all very very small clubs

Yes it is quite young , but that’s where older heads are needed as said from day one.

We play exciting football but are not clinical in front of goal

Re: MY VIEW: TONIGHT CARDIFF CITY PLAYED ROCK BOTTOM BURTON

Referee cheated us, disallowing a perfectly good goal from Salech and a clear penalty on NG. Still, we should have been good enough to put a very poor Burton team away by 3 or 4 goals. The fact we huffed and puffed and ran out of ideas was very worrying.

We can’t have 3 successive home defeats

Re: MY VIEW: TONIGHT CARDIFF CITY PLAYED ROCK BOTTOM BURTON

They stopped playing just before half time .
Had no answer to a team that parked the bus .
Manager didn't change anything apart from.the end when he added another striker .
It was all to slow and pedestrian.
Wingers don't take on the outside and cross enough and the midfield had no answer.
It wasn't working before half time and we changed nothing. Done by the sucker punch but if we'd taken our chances we would of won the game .
Manager and team must learn from this .way to slow after they stopped playing before half time .
On to the next one

Spot on.

He was one of the worst players on the pitch, just like against Bradford.

Fine when things are going well but when it gets tough, he goes missing.

That's why Bellamy didn't pick the golden boy.

Where is Robertson? There must be something going on there!

Turnbull has been really poor, he had a really good chance to score and just casually blazed it over like he thought he was offside and it didn’t matter. I could see that result coming a mile off tonight when we missed chances..

I am guessing he wanted to go in the summer, we wouldn’t sell him on the cheap and he’s thrown his toys out the pram! I didn’t believe there was a problem until recently, although he did seem to take a very long time to come back from a gash in the leg.

No tempo, no drive forward, just sidewards passing from one side to the other. One dimensional easy to defend. No will to win. Looks too coached to me. More interested in the pass than to actually have a shot on goal. Where's the fair? Where's the drive to take players on and have a shot.
Need more freedom about them than drilled passing mores in my opinion.

We had 20 shots and eight big chances so that argument doesn't stand up to any scrutiny.
