O/T Charlie Kirk killed in America

Suspect named Tyler Robinson has now been taken into custody. He is 22.

He will shortly be charged.





Dreadful news from the US tonight as right wing influencer Charlie Kirk has died after being shot in Utah.

Personally I don't identify with his view of politics at all and disagree with him on practically everything, but this is an awful thing that has happened.

In the same way I said the murder of Jo Cox was a disgrace, this is equally a disgrace.

A lot of division in politics all over the world but there really is no place for stuff like this.

I really hope a precedent hasn't been set.

I agreed with most of what he said. He was quite smug in being negative towards the schooling system in America and although he was insanely knowledgeable not everyone can retain and self teach that kind of intellectual stuff.

His views on divisive stuff, DEI, made up genders etc were pretty hard to argue with without being ignorant. It’s a shame, as I think his fame was born from the noise of the opposing views becoming so loud. He was merely sharing what a lot can’t be bothered to

Think you’ve misinterpreted what I meant or I poorly worded it. I have only caught clips of his on reels and can’t claim to have watched millions of them at that, a handful. I was speaking from my perspective of that makes sense.

Either way, regardless of his views or anyone’s he didn’t deserve what he got. I can see how what he said so openly would incite extremist on both sides of the arguement

Well whoever did the shot is on the run.

It will be found and it will be shot no questions answered, no trail and no sentenced given. If it gets out what this sick person stands for it will cause civil unrest so therefore its better to take out before anything gets out.

I'm devastated for his poor children. Those poor little ones having their beloved father stolen from them. Heartbreaking absolutely heartbreaking.

He wasn't just a political commentator he was a father a son a husband. He was loved by people who will never recover from this.

Assassinated for being an advocate of free speech.
A deeply religious man, who invited young people who opposed his views to debate him in public. Not be anonymous keyboard warriors.

Going to be as civil as I can but when a guy who — amongst other disgusting things — believed that shootings were worth it so that he could have a gun gets shot I’m hardly going to cry over it.

I doubt that when he said shootings were worth it he meant at people like him and his friends surrounded by armed entourages or their children in expensive private schools, no, he meant those from more disadvantaged backgrounds or those — like the majority of us on here — children who went to state-run schools.

Feel sorry for his two children but beyond that I’m not shedding any tears.
