CARDIFF SHOULD HAVE FINISHED WIMBLEDON OUT OF SIGHT / BUT AW

CARDIFF SHOULD HAVE FINISHED WIMBLEDON OUT OF SIGHT / BUT THEY NEVER GAVE UP AND SCORED IN THE DYING MINS AND 3PTS FINALLY CAME HOME.

There were Two changes from Saturday's starting lineup - @joelbagan and @joelcolwill return to the XI

Cardiff virtually dominated the first half and should have had a penalty early on in my opinion.

Far more even contest in this second half.

We had the shots, but we should of finished Wimbledon out of sight m.

For me when the Dons did their big changes then we did, in the 2nd half they had more impact than we did.

4 games in League 3 / undefeated but 3 wins / 1 draw for me is good enough.

We are playing some very very poor sides.

Joel Colwill was taken down in the box. Defender doesn't get near the ball. Somehow a goal kick was given.

Tanner looked injured quite badly at the end of the first-half replaced by Willock.

After Wimbledon did numerous substitutions City did:

64th min:Davies on for Ashford.

Robinson on for Salech.

Turnbull on for J. Colwill.

Far more even contest in this second half.

82nd Chambers on for Bagan.

94th min Turnbull to Davies 1n City yes

Let’s not forget, we finished bottom of the championship. Blame who you want, the points are what mattered and we finished bottom. So to say we are playing poor teams, we were that poor team last year

We have not struggled other than against Port Vale, who I think did a number on us but couldn’t score.

We are exciting to watch at the moment, and it feels like we have that grit to either win it or take a point, last season if we were 3-0 up with 1 minute to go if put £10 on us to lose. This team isn’t the same, the players are transformed, they did well today all but the finish. Next game up let’s keep this momentum going!

Des we have conceded once which was a penalty, defence was good again today, we will get some nervy moments but I would say they played well today.

Wide areas concern me we need that little bit more pace out there.

I wouldn’t say no to some cover at the back but credit where it’s due conceded once and 3 consecutive league clean sheets.

Only thing that worries me playing centre half in this league they battle and we will pick up injuries at the back already looks like tanner out which is a worry because I've seen nothing from willock he just totally disappoints me clear chance to cross after beatening his man but usually goes backwards he's not for me

Annis,

Unfortunately another win will only persuade Tan even more that we can go up without him spending another penny.

how do we need strengthening at the back, 2 goals against in 4 games. we need new wingers who can take advantage of the acres of space we're creating and put a decent cross on salechs head

I agree it will be a long season but we have 4 CB on the books at the moment LB would be the only place I’d strengthen at the moment in defence, but bagan had a cracking game today.

Agree we need some wide players defo at least one.

Hopefully it will speed things up with tanners injury looking nasty.

Agreed, we do some great work in getting our wide players the ball in space yet game after game they waste it.

Two wide players and a left back and we’ll be well set.

Not many teams in Div 1 will have a back up of the quality of Robinson, nor the CBs with have.

In the Championship we’d be hammered, at this level you only have to look at how we’ve dominated matches.

One thing I would say that is a huge change is the way we win the ball back if/when we lose it. It’s almost immediate and exactly what we were lacking last season. The BBM influence is obvious.

We played poor away to vale and got something out of it.
We have shown at home we are a force.
Now we took that away from home and shown we can dominate .

Scoreline didn't reflect the performance but deserved none the less. :occasion5:

I'd love to see us play with two up front as I think we're going to struggle to score in away games under the current system.

You would have taken that start to the season wouldn't you, not many teams will take anything off you at your place so if you keep picking points up away you will be up there at end of season

We played superb in parts really exciting to watch. And total transformation from last year. Back 5 were class and bagan was my mom.
But agree about needing signings especially wide and cover at the back. Exciting this year compared to last though.
