Looking back after tonight :

Thu Aug 07, 2025 9:57 pm

Another view from Me:

Quite a lucky draw .

On another day both their disallowed goals could have stood . On another day Bagan (who was poor tonight) could have been sent off . Off the bar and off the post .

They also had two good chances . The really annoying thing is that we did not have one single decent chance in 96 minutes of play .

I am not certain but it is possible that our players think that they are too good for this division ….and are not getting stuck in or willing to do the tough basic work .

Only Trott and Kapakio did well . All the others have let themselves and the Club down tonight .

I wouldn’t say that we were very lucky tonight ….but we definitely got the run of the green . Port Vale will be disappointed ….but then they were playing “mighty” Cardiff ….one of the favourites for promotion ….so they will take the point.

Bagan and the colwills not strong enough for this level Annis

Re: Looking back after tonight :

Bagan 100% should have been sent off.

Their goal early in the second half was clearly onside, should have been given.

They were better than us in every department.

Take the point and run because we deserved nothing from that game.

Not sure why people think it was a red card his foot slowly went into ball but slid over the top of it! I suspect their player Hardly felt his foot on his leg but tried to get began sent off as is normal now? reason I say this look where bagans foot was lying on top of ball because no force was used well certainly not excessive force... but as is the norm he could easily seen red as well. Besides wasn't more than 5rds from lino so if that bad surely been sent off?

The same linesman who disallowed their goal which was clearly onside.

If VAR were there, it would be a red card.

I felt exactly the same and said on another thread, the reverse angle clearly showed all ball for Bagan and Tolaj went over like an arsenal player

Re: Looking back after tonight :

Bagan got the ball and his foot rolled up, silly challenge but not a red card

Re: Looking back after tonight :

Thu Aug 07, 2025 11:05 pm

Never a red card was clearly.a yellow. He connected with ball his foot then went above ball. Right decision.

Also possible slightly offside for the goal but was close.

We take the point for sure

Re: Looking back after tonight :

We were 2nd best tonight - Lucky to get away with the offside goal Vale did not get .
Some will say he was off - But we will never know :o

Re: Looking back after tonight :

Watch it again and the flag goes up straight away for their goal and our players actually fractionally stop so not a true finish. It was 50/50 but I think the linesman was correct. Bagan was standing in his challenge not running so no real force to it. His foot slides up the ball too. Yellow card, definitely not red. We were fortunate to draw but I don't think these two incidents were the fortunate bit. Our defending to corners was more alarming. They won first contact too many times and we were lucky there.

The goal was offside. His arm was off. Very good call by the lino for me, and very fine lines.

A lot of shirt pulling spoilt the game also - it’s going to be a long season of poor quality at times something we not been used to for a long time : however our team is very young and have to adapt and learn from mistakes quickly - there is a great need of few seniors required chambers and wintle were hopeless IMO ( massive credit to the fans and shame they did not get to see any goals ) but I think their presence stop the descion of off side goal : so we go again next week UTC

Agree. Barely a booking. The fella dived like Tom Daley. Ref got it right - I think ref had a good game tbf, better than the lino!

I thought port vale were a very poor side which means we were terrible they a typical league 2 side long balls 5 at the back against one solo striker so they could step into midfield with ease to make it a 5 when needed for me Darren Moore experienced manager it showed against bbm inexperinced compared to Moore besides Moore has played bbm now 4 times he's won 3 of them drawn one I hope bbm learns from this too not just the players because it won't get any easier in this league refs are worse we will not get many decisions like last night we got really lucky I'd take a point I'm disappointed in way we played has to bring a couple of players in playing kids all season it's no good need abit of bite in there abit of know how just my accesment of last night and season ahead
