No BBM tonight.

Tue Jul 15, 2025 7:26 pm

Purse taking charge. This is technically our 2nd string or 2nd team. On first half showing, we are not finding Non League Yeovil easy, whereas I believe they are coping very well with us.

Yeovil are well drilled, going past us on both flanks and easily playing through the middle of us.

We are giving a lot of effort, but little guile. We do not seem to know a plan as to how to play the game or stop Yeovil from playing.

Plenty more goals here maybe for both teams.

Why oh why oh why is BBM not here? The kids are all he is being given and if he can't run the rule o er them then what can we expect this season??

Re: No BBM tonight.

I wouldn't have expected BBM to be there to be honest. In the same way I wouldn't expect him to turn up to U21 games all season.

The U21 players that are part of the first team now are the ones that he took to Spain, so he's seen plenty of them.

I would also heavily dispute the claim that academy players are all he's being given. He said himself after Saturday that there will be signings. We also have most of the players that stayed at the club, with no sign of the key player Salech being sold.

But thanks for the update on the game Jonny.

100% expect him to be there. It's his first pre-season, he's getting familiar with the squad - why isn't he there? What's he doing that's more pressing than that?

Not a great look for his work ethic.

Jesus, some people will do anything to write him off and it looks desperate

Work ethic? He's just got back from Spain and is training the players who will actually be part of his team.

None of those players playing tonight will be first team.

He's got more important things to do than go to U21 games.

Because it’s an Under 21 Game.

He won’t be at the majority of the U21 games.

It’s Purses job, to manage the U21s.

Why would this game be any different?

Unfortunately some people are desperate to write him off. They probably wanted us to lose to Southend so they could have a stick to beat him with.

I guess Fergie, Wenger and Clough all got it wrong then. They all watched not just the u21s, but the kids too. Ever heard of the Class of 92?

Like I say, he should be there.

I have and I'm also aware that it's not 1992, it's 2025.

The way football management is done has changed. Get up to date.

NONE of the players tonight will be in the first team. All the academy players that are now first team players went to Spain with him, he even added three more for the last game.

Pathetic from you

Maybe they did but that was in the past ....how many managers today have time to watch unser 21s kids and any other stuff they do? Times have changed not so people...

Right you are. If 1992 is too old for you, then check out Klopp and others - regularly attend youth games in this decade.

Still pathetic? Or is your opinion worth more than theirs?

Calling someone out as pathetic when someone disagrees with you - made me chuckle!

I def would have expected Murphy their tonight, he got back home on Sunday afternoon.

Tjis ti me was very important to see what we have .

Klopp doesn't manage a club at the moment.

The point is he's seen the U21 players who are part of the first team now and sees them every day.

The players playing tonight are not going to be first team players.

You are clearly desperate to write off the manager so yes, you are pathetic.

Sorry Annis but I totally disagree.

How many of the players tonight are going to be in the first team? Zero.

Even Willock will probably leave.

Do you want him to work on transfers or attend U21 friendlies?

It would be a waste of his time going, he has more pressing things to do.

But some people just want to write him off I guess.

They'll be eating humble pie in August.

Arteta, Guardiola, Xavi to give you a few more. All heavily involved in the youth set up, all taking in games. But I bow down to your superior football knowledge :D

BBM worked for Pep so he'd have more of an insight that you'd have found by googling.

Pathetic

Re: No BBM tonight.

Ah yes.

Let’s get BBM involved in youth football, U21 football, and then let’s all complain that he isn’t spending time on getting his squad ready for the upcoming season and bringing new players in.

Some of you on here are unbelievable.

Re: No BBM tonight.

Tue Jul 15, 2025 8:19 pm

I don't believe any of those players in that squad tonight will be near the first team this season except for vertu trophy and maybe the league Cup game

BBM has his squad now he knows what he has to work with and where he needs to strengthen

He doesn't need to be there tonight if he can't trust his u21 coaching set up to give him full detailed dossiers on all his youth players and trust in there recommendations if any youth player should be promoted to the senior squad, then he needs a new u21 coaching team

I thought BBM looked tired in Spain interview.
Saying that, I’d have expected him there tonight to run the rule over the players and purse
To influence to support his “Way” and grasp where we are as a feed…

What's more pressing
Try he's been in Spain for a week and probably has a family of his own. Also why is purse manager of 21s to get players ready for first team and recommend any to BBM. Ffs get a grip

Struggling to make your point there given all the evidence, but stick to calling people pathetic if it makes you happy.

Just odd.

I haven't written him off, I don't know what else he might be doing, I've simply said that in my opinion he should be there as he gets familiar with his squad. If that's pathetic to you, then you go for it.

It's a u21 friendly not that important at this stage. As stated above most won't be involved at all and 1s that do play well tonight won't get picked on this 1 performance. They get mentioned and monitored

Worcester calm down ,i have not commented on this topic but reading it, your running to the managers defence but there is no need to,
people are not asking for his head but your hammering anyone who you think is against the manager,
but they are not against the manager there just giving an opinion
I will be behind the manager 100% and will make my mind up after the obligatory 12th game if it sweet i will keep cheering if it's gone t.ts up i shall be letting him know .

I don't need to be told to calm down.

It's not my fault we have pathetic so called fans who are desperate to write him off.

We played Southend off the park in a game they desperately hoped we'd lose so have resorted to that.

I'll use the word again, it's pathetic.
