Quite gutted in my local and five Leicester Fans all season ticket holders
I just asked them all about Our New Manager Brian Barry Murphy , Not one of them had heard of him.
Their response we have a load of coaches.
So I then asked a Leicester Fan I know well who lives here and is really passionate about them, Never heard of him?
Murphy set to make Lee Riley his assistant at Cardiff City.
Riley worked under Murphy at Rochdale

I have very close relations with Leicester, and they all concur with the about. No idea who he is. I hope we haven’t been sold another dud.

I kept saying you must know him, you must.
They really had NO idea who he is.

Well he was only there for six months as a coach.
Better off asking people who watched PL2 or Rochdale when he was there.
I will say it again - I am going to back the manager from the start and I hope others do.
Not talking about you Annis because you give managers a fair chance but some people on here seem keen to write him off before he's even got going.
That shows how pathetic some of our fans are.

Ned,
I will fully support Murphy.
But you all would do the same if a load of Leicester fans were in your local.
Plus My Mate Steve a Leicester fan massively really did not have a club about Murphy.

Ditto. None of my Leicester mates up here has never heard of him.
I’m really underwhelmed by this and apathy has got the better of me.

To be fair, if you ask a lot of city fans who our coaches have been in the last 2 years, a lot would say ‘I don’t know’.

Means bugger all.
Inner circles in football praise his ability. Just needs to showcase it.
We could be saying this is a bad appointment in hindsight when it comes, but maybe it’ll be a really solid appointment.
Good football and our youth getting a chance, maybe it’s going to be a gift.
I prefer this than boring Nathan Jones.

Nathan Jones any day

I can name only a few coaches for Cardiff ever.
Ramasut (due to this board), dibble and georgie Wood.
Can’t even think of assistant managers
Warnocks mate
And
Connor with big mick.
I didn’t know Riza until he became boss!

Exactly because they not up and out there as successful managers. They back room staff, important but just a small cog at a professional football team. 10 to the penny.
Fri Jun 13, 2025 4:54 pm
I would love to have them say we will be gutted he’s leaving us etc etc
I would have put it straight on here.
But 6 out 6 were totally clueless about him, yes it was gutting
I will still be fully backing him
I just hope we have not been sold down the river YET AGAIN.

Riza because he was absolutely useless and had achieved NOTHING
The usual lot had ago at me because I was against his appointment
Then disappeared yet again when proven he was worse than shit

Don’t forget we e had Agents Scoiring the country and Europe for our new manager
Plus Gavin Chesterfield was happy with him
Tan was really happy
Fri Jun 13, 2025 5:04 pm
Just had a Quick Look on the Leicester fan forum and there is a topic on him which is 4 or 5 pages, from when he started to the fact that we are interested in him.
Fri Jun 13, 2025 5:14 pm
I will be getting behind him, what else can we do. I’m hoping for a master stroke and for him to guide us to successive promotions.

Not quite Leicester itself.
Castle Donington right in the middle of the Forest, Derby and Filbert Street itself.

I do not hold much hope for us next season because I really thought that the club would of brought in a DOF and BBM bring in his own coaches and an assistant, looks like only BNM and his assistant has been brought in, again looks like the cheaper option have been selected by Tan I really do fear for next season because not alot except the manager seems to have changed, we are still stuck with Purse and his crones laughing in the dugout when we are getting beat, just the way I see things sorry to be negative but I an worried.

Fully agree - its the usual empty words, spin and bollox from the hierarchy.
You can't tell me they've been scouring the country for weeks, when there are and have been plenty of experienced MANAGERS out there.
It's very straightforward - Emperor Tan has yet again given his orders: get me a cheap coach and yes man again, salary ceiling £100k. Afterall, it's only League 1 - how easy can it be! Oh dear.
If BBM does the business and we're in the top 6 all season, I'll back down and praise him of course.
#Tan out
Fri Jun 13, 2025 5:21 pm
Is a bit worrying no one knows of him and the process took this long to come up with his name. It seems we have gone for the cheapest yes man for tan option. Hope it works out but going by past few seasons with the clowns making outrageous decisions I have no confidence. Please prove me wrong and smash league one BBM

I know of it. I lived in the city around the glen parva area if you know it?

This is what Rochdale fans think of him joining us, not very complimentary to be fair but as I've said I'm willing to give him a fair crack

I feel exactly the same. I said he was my last choice out of the managers linked.
He's aprantley good with youngsters which is all well and good but that says to me we'll be putting our faith in our youngsters to take us back up, in a league full of hatchet men I can see us getting bullied.
Truth is no one knows how good he is. I said when he was linked at the start that the clown show were taking a gamble again.
Fans rightly pointed out that every appointment is a gamble but this guy is a bigger gamble than the other candidates.
I will fully get behind him and hope he proves all the doubters wrong including myself.
We all want the team to succeed but we also have a right to give an opinion it's about calling it as it is. I won't happy clap and pretend everything is positive when it isn't.
If other fans want to get over excited and make him out to be the next Pep that's fine but it's not how I feel about this appointment.
Fri Jun 13, 2025 5:46 pm
I always get behind every new manager we have wether I like the appointment or not, I hope all City fans do the same, give him a chance, 8-12 games in we know what we are really dealing with, it’s a shock and horror that we are in this league, we have to adjust expectations.
