Ramsey as player Manager is now a big contention for Cardiff City :bluebird:

Wouldn’t be surprised if I am honest, he knows exactly what the club needs. He had three games and changed the atmosphere around the team and fans almost instantly.

He might have been brutally honest with the board and Tan during his interview (if he has had one) on what the club needs and the changes needed.

I just hope we don’t just get a new manager (whoever that is) and get the same sort of changes the other club Tan owns has.

Yesterday it was 100 percent definitely not Ramsey?

this is probably the best thing we could ask for! someone who knows the club and hopefully gets a decent number 2 alongside him!!!!

Has always been my choice but who knows. The Jones rumour was probably started by the club to boost ST sales.

Would be good to have Jones and Ramsey, Ramsey have got his heart in it, so give it to him if Jones won't come.

I have suggested this several times in recent weeks. His aim to continue playing for both Wales and the Bluebirds may be ambitious and from a personal point of view where does he go when playing has to stop.
A player manager role gives him the best of both options. I think he is already on a £50k salary and is probably more than the average League 1 salary for a manager. City management may be influenced by some serious savings either for the Player/Manager role or just the Manager. A recent survey showed average salary in League 1 is about £160,000 per year but could be up to £500,000.
The other candidates being touted are not without their own limitations and are they significantly better than Ramsey?
I do like the Welsh element as it might have been with Bellamy. Importantly as he has raised himself the overall structure needs to be strengthened and hopefully will be part of the negotiations.

What metric are we using to compare other candidates? Ramsey is a total leap of faith because he graduated from the academy 16 years ago.

A good interview question for Manager Ramsey is he would sign current player Ramsey to play a season in L1? The romance is great, but it's been a massive letdown.

This has become yet another shaggy dog story.

You think things can't get any worse and this whole debacle rears its head.. Tan you are an out and out Tw*t, get out of our club you meglomaniac.
Hope the demos continue

I think he would be a poor choice, no sorry, a dangerous choice.

I would give him a better chance of success if we were still in the Championship.

We need someone who has done lower leafue already.

Nope! Martyn, it was 100% correct!

The issue lays with Jones’ 3 year contract and compensation to Charlton Athletic

Nathan Jones certainly won’t simply ’walk out’ on Charlton and I don’t blame him with that safety net (3 yer contract) underneath him, so it’s now up to our owner to put up or ship out in this one! :ayatollah:

Agreed, I like Ramsey but this is definitely not the time to mess about with experimental, let's give him a go to learn to Manage on the job.

You wouldn't give a 17 year old school kid with three car driving lessons a job as an HGV class 1 diver, we've had three or four car crash write offs already.

Re: He’s back in the Frame Big Time as Next Cardiff City:

Mon Jun 02, 2025 2:18 pm

Not what we need. Too inexperienced.

Love the guy, but we’re linked with far more capable managers who aren’t going to be learning on the job.

Can't help thinking this will end up with us adopting the same approach he adopted for Kortrijk. I.E Rambo managing and a DofF also recruited. If he does that and Rambo has a sold back room staff it may work. Even way it appears that nobody has a bloody clue what is going on.

Re: He’s back in the Frame Big Time as Next Cardiff City:

Mon Jun 02, 2025 2:39 pm

He tried the experiment with riza and we know where we ended up I like ramsay but not at this time he needs to get abit more experience before he becomes city manager so nope from me for same reasons I didn't back riza

Re: He’s back in the Frame Big Time as Next Cardiff City:

Mon Jun 02, 2025 2:54 pm

Not the time for Ramsey. What we need is a signal of intent from Tan and the board.

If they got Jones in that would be a huge statement of the clubs intention to get this mess sorted out.

Re: He’s back in the Frame Big Time as Next Cardiff City:

Mon Jun 02, 2025 3:20 pm

If the owner and the board have no f*cking idea who they are going to employ as manager then I highly doubt any of us lot will either. It’s just another day at the circus. Tan is waiting on a txt back from mystic meg to see if she can see into the future and pick us a manager, because that clown can’t pick his own nose

Jones , ramsay or Buckingham i wpuld mind tbh

Re: He’s back in the Frame Big Time as Next Cardiff City:

Ramsay said he didn’t won’t the job full time because he still wants to play so what’s changed

Re: He’s back in the Frame Big Time as Next Cardiff City:

Mon Jun 02, 2025 4:00 pm

This is great news would take him all day long over the other two. Hope this turns out to be our next manager.

Re: He’s back in the Frame Big Time as Next Cardiff City:

Mon Jun 02, 2025 4:21 pm

I think Ramsey is great BUT we need a experienced manager in please think carefully tan no more rookie managers!!!

Re: He’s back in the Frame Big Time as Next Cardiff City:

Mon Jun 02, 2025 4:23 pm

Hope this is true wand he is left to develop our young team over the next few years. Without tan meddling and with director or sporting director with experience to support

And that’s the reason right there that he was never a viable option under Tan.

Put the flags out Monty boy, I actually agree with you for once!

Hoping this rumour doesn’t happen.

Ramsey is far too inexperienced, it'll be a disaster in my view.
Keep him as a player with pay as you play contract.

My first choice was Rambo.
Bring in Gunter and one other alongside him and I’d be more than happy.
