I was always in the Jones camp at the beginning but I can't see him leaving Charlton and we may now miss out on other targets whilst we go after Jones
I feel the club are taking a big risk going down this route, we need a manager now not in another week or two were already falling behind other clubs with preparations for pre season, transfers etc

Jones would not accept interference and would want to build his own squad.
Does anyone really think Tan would change so that could happen? I definitely don't.
Was told what I posted about Buckingham and I believe it - but if they've been told they could still get Jones then it explains the delay a bit more.
The risk with that is we don't get Jones and also Buckingham gets tired of waiting and goes to Plymouth.

Why ? there's still a month untill you can sign out of contract players ? This mini window is for the bigger clubs .

Oh dear this is not a good scenario. From what I read yesterday, and from what I saw on youtube, I was really excited about Des Buckingham coming here.
If I was ever placed in a position where a club made out I was 2nd choice I would tell them where to go - and we are in danger of that - particularly as he is the favourite for the Plymouth job.
Dont get me wrong I would like Nathan Jones here too - but this is an angle the club should have resolved well before now - and now they are in danger of getting neither.
In the legal field we have a phrase. The longer you leave them the more chance there is of something going wrong - This is why I would prefer the club to be more decisive and make quicker (but good) decisions

Well yeah, it is seen as unrealistic to get a manager that's just gone up to the Championship.
Sounds from here that it could happen, hence the delay with other things.
But that doesn't mean it wasn't unrealistic - of course it was.
Certainly no need to use this as an opportunity to fire cheap shots at other well-meaning posters on here.
As for Jones, I've been consistent in saying he wouldn't be my choice but I know he's popular with a lot of our fans.

Sadly, posts like this from SB 1927 (who is normally better than that) are not as frequent as a couple of seasons ago but they still remain, Ned
