Some of, I not THE best times as a Buebird in my times!

Sam galvanised this club after the really hard times and drove us forward with his infectious energy, passion and enthusiasm

He loved our cub and our supporters and I only wish he was here ‘walking around the pitch’ now! :bluebird: :bluescarf: :notworthy: :ayatollah:

Some of the best times yes.

But also some of the most nerve wracking.

We almost went out of business, so the debts under Tan can be mentioned yes, but we aren’t near going out of business like we were with Sam.

See your point but when we understand the fuller details of some of the shenanigans surrounding the latter days of Sam’s tenure, it becomes apparent how he was let down in some quarters around him
I will simply point to those who seemed to gain financial advantage from the club around that time and leave it there

Footballing-wise, they were amongst the best times I’ve experienced and Sam embraced the energy our support provided him and vice versa :ayatollah:

In fairness, both came in and had similar starts.

Sam wanted to change us to Cardiff Celts or some daft thing like that. The MASSIVE difference is he listened to the fans and when the idea was unpopular it quickly went away. Had Tan done that, things would have been a lot different.

Some of my best days supporting Cardiff was the Sam era, just a shame it ended under controversy

Such good times. He really got us going.

But after what happened with Wimbledon there was no way that the council were gonna let Sam go off on his own with the stadium and probably rightly so.

That enabled the egg men to get their claws into it and us.

A hugely popular figure by some, but equally seen as a divisive figure by others.

My viewpoint of him is a positive one.

Having said that, I personally wouldn't be calling for him to be back and that's nothing to do with him personally.

My opinion is you should never go back - be that players, manager or previous owners. We've learnt that.

But like I say, my view of Sam is a positive one.

When Sam cand IN We had NOTHING / JUST DIV 4 & DEBT & Awful Attendances / No one wanted us.

When Tan came in we were in the Play off Finak and had a New Stadium and were a Championship Club hell of a Difference.

Sam brought a massive feel good facture with him after the (mostly)gloom and doom of the 80s/90s.fans couldn't wait for pre season and the games attracted good crowds. Contrast that to now the club is absolutely flat.

Just a memory now, we will be great again one day, not under this lot though.

Suppose that is a counter to me saying PMG were useless.

They delivered the stadium, FA Cup final and various Wembley appearances.

I think this was an eye opener for me as far as our fans go.

The amount of bullying of QPR fans I saw in town that day was really quite sad to see. I had seen it small scale before (one time at Shrewsbury train station was particularly bad and Simmo had to step in) but there was a lot of arseholes knocking around. I saw one guy try to start on a QPR fan with his girlfriend which me and a friend actually stepped in on.

Neil,

PMG Walked away with £millions and No one said a word.

They delivered the stadium for themselves at the cost of selling everything and making £millions.

The land, the outline planning was all passed and bought by SAM for £50mill.

They had the easy job .

Once they made their money they fucked off not paying £24mill to Sam and a Tax bill Riddler had run up of £4mill.

In December 2017, PMG sold Cardiff retail park for £26.4 million. This retail park, located in Grangetown, Cardiff, was home to retailers like TK Maxx, Dunelm, Argos, Costa Coffee, and Mothercare. The deal resulted in a net initial yield of about 6.4%.

They never put anything in to Cardiff.

Even the facilities we Kent the money of Compass

Ok so PMG sold for nearly 27 million, on top of that they made far more as landlords for several years too, then there was the other board members who sliced up other parts of the area. Why shouldn’t the loan have been paid back as it was supposed to be? PMG got away with robbery.

100%

None of them cared about Cardiff at all.

Neil,

When Sam left , We’re 5pts clear at the Top of The Championship, the land bought for the CCS, Outline planning got, plus Ramsey, Joe Ledley , Glen Loovens, Neil Alexandra, Roger Johnson, Kevin McNAUGHTON,
Michael Chopra , Peter Whittingham, Steve Thompson etc All in Total Worth £30 Mill. But Riddler Sold them Cheap

And a Fantastic Academy

PMG Yes so true, but funny they forget to mention all this, had the first 5 years of the Premier Seat Sales and All the Refurbishments done by Compass who get 90% of the Drinks & Food Sales

That’s what Tan had to put up with though in his first few years of ownership.

They had sold everything that wasn’t nailed on trying to keep HMRC at bay.

The deal was 10 years

And we have continued to do this under Tan

Plus PMG / Mike Hall intentions was to make CCS a Rugby Stadium as well for Cardiff Blues.

He told me that at a Shareholders meeting

So they tried, but the Eggs hated it

There are a lot of similarities of both owners, but one huge difference in that one dictates and the other shares his vision and then works on a dream together.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... ory.sport2

There is so much similarity between what he is saying in this article and what Tan did, but as soon as he brought it up and spoke to the fans he backed down. In comparison, Tan threatened to not supply funds for a promotion push which is what divided the fanbase and has done ever since.

Sam brought excitement, his tenure ended poorly but those days were better than anything that has come since, at least it has for me
