" A desperately sad day for our club "

Sat Apr 26, 2025 4:01 pm

So that's 20+ years in the top two tiers over.

I accepted this fate on Monday.

Some tried to convince themselves that the impossible would happen, and I admired their optimism - but it never seemed likely.

And quite honestly, the people who run this club deserve it. They have been taught a lesson - it is not possible to

Today's result isn't the big issue. We actually played alright second half and missed several really good chances.

It's the rest of the season - the thrown away points, the fact they only gave Ramsey three games to make a difference, the failure to recognise the direction we were going in. I could go on but there's no point.

I feel sorry for the fans that travel up and down the country every week to watch this team and have got practically nothing back this season.

But I do not feel sorry for the owner and his board. They have brought this on themselves.

I spend a lot of my money travelling to watch this club and I will continue to do that in League One.

But this season is feels like the disconnect between the club, the players and the fans has just got worse.

And yet some will still defend this owner - that baffles me. Maybe they just don't want to admit they were wrong. I can say I was wildly wrong about backing Riza so I don't see why these people won't admit they're wrong.

This is a desperately sad day for our club and I am devastated.

But see you all next season, I'll be there.

I am really truly gutted, no words can say to console me at this very moment in time, its really scary now what will happen to our wonderful club, can only see us getting worse as the seasons go by if the dictator stays in charge of us, Cardiff City FC deserves much better our only hope now that someone sees us as a club worth investing in and employs the right personnel to get this club back on track.

I’ve been expecting this as most know but I’m feeling like everyone else damn sick.

I would now like a statement from the board what their intention are for the future.

What a disaster, finishing bottom.

Re: " A desperately sad day for our club "

Sat Apr 26, 2025 4:28 pm

We haven't had a statement all season so I cant see us getting one now, if we did I would not believe a word that comes out of Dalmans gob, club is at its lowest for many a year, the three clowns just need to hold their heads in shame and get us out of our club.

Terrible season, but personally im already excited for next season. Pointless getting wound up now its happened, as its been on the cards for the last 2 months. Enjoy the summer and go again in August. Keep the youngsters and start a new young team who will grow together and threaten for promotion.

This is my concern, what happens now.

I never thought I'd be making this post, as there are more than three worse sides the Bluebirds.

The opinion of The Jacks I've spoken to has been in favour of you staying up. It's the first fixture we look for at the start of the season, and win, draw or the other one, it's the most intense.

As a positive it might be the last straw for Tan, and hopefully you'll be rid of him. :occasion5:

Good Luck

It’s not just the appointment of Riza that was disappointing, it was the length of time the board took between the sacking of Bulut and Riza’s appointment. Amateurish from start to finish, what the f**k we’re Dalman and Choo actually doing within that time.
They should resign NOW.

Re: " A desperately sad day for our club "

Sat Apr 26, 2025 4:44 pm

Feel deflated, but I’ve wanted this season to just end. This has been coming for a while now, as we’ve flirted with relegation for a few seasons. The board deserves this not the fans, they have made bad decision, after bad decision. There needs to be some big positive changes at the club next season. I would love to see some new owners who can pull the club together, but unless the three amigos cut their losses and sell up then we are stuck with them.

What difference would that make Ian the board don't give a flying f**k about us either now or last statements most of it's lies as we all know. It's been coming for many seasons which lets be honest the people at the club in the top seats brought it on themselves with dogshit appointments when results was needed then they act way to long to change it and we had a coach in charge for months longer than he should have been, you couldn't make this club up.

Obviously there are not 3 sides worse than us otherwise we wouldn't be getting relegated.

Re: " A desperately sad day for our club "

Sat Apr 26, 2025 5:09 pm

And to make things worse we go into yet another close season without a Manager, any coaching staff and no plan in place for pre season training/planning

We are already on the back foot before a ball has been kicked

When will the dipshit morons in charge ever learn it’s just pathetic!!

Re: " A desperately sad day for our club "

Sat Apr 26, 2025 5:16 pm

Vincent Tan you have dishonoured our club and Capitol City you have dishonoured Malaysia , get the f**k out of our club.

Re: " A desperately sad day for our club "

Sat Apr 26, 2025 5:23 pm

Top priority is getting in a decent manager preferably by next Saturday! We cannot have situation where we lose a month with no one to select players to stay or go or who to sighn ? My gran az more idea on how to manage a club than tan he must be the most inept incompetent idiotic owner efl as ever had to allow todays situation? We've had couple months to get it sorted and he's turned a blind eye to the problem "RIZA" and now fans and club will beare the consequences of his actions. :banghead:

Re: " A desperately sad day for our club "

Sat Apr 26, 2025 5:37 pm

It reflects terribly on Tan that two actors with no prior football experience have successfully managed a club from the Conference and are now set to play a league above us. He’ll no doubt blame everyone but himself, but there’s no hiding from this and I’m sure they’ll be shouting about it all over Disney!

What a way to mark your 125th anniversary, 3rd placed club in Wales :notworthy: !

Any Tan apologists left here? Surely not after this latest shitshow…..the guy should hang his head in shame for what he’s done to this once proud club. League 1 is embarrassing for a city like Cardiff. Another few generations lost to the Man Utd, liverpools and arsenals then. What a complete tw*t the guy is never hiring a decent manager….. :banghead:

Re: " A desperately sad day for our club "

Such a sad state of affairs.

This has been coming for the past few years though.
Capital city of Wales with such a fabulous stadium and a potential very big fan base allowed to fade away to the lower leagues.
In the meanwhile, our old fellow rivals Wrexham appear to be replacing us as a result of the enthusiastic ownership which puts ours to shame.
Not sure if or when we will return to the top leagues, but my four main wishes are:-

Firstly, to name a new experienced manager at this level who can get the most out of the squad the ownership recruits.

Secondly, I'd love to see new enthusiastic owners take the club over from Mr Tan, who appears to have given up with us.

Thirdly, I'd like to see the fans get behind next seasons new team from the first match.

Fourthly, I'd love to see a new club initiative to encourage more young fans to the club for a very low admission charge. (around £2 or £3 per match for under 18's) There will be many more empty seats for most games, so why not try to fill them with the potential supporters of tomorrow.

Not sure about being a Tan apologist, but where would we be without his money that he throws away weekly?
We’ll soon find out if he walks away…. Let’s be careful what we wish for

We’re in League One after finishing bottom of the league. Can’t get much worse. The “what if” argument is weak.

Sick of hearing this bullshit from people.

He's taken us from the Premier League to League One is six years - and people dare to say where would we be without him.

He's attended two games in six years - that is not acceptable for the owner of the club.

So be careful what we wish for? I'm very clear what we should wish for and that's for him to sell the club so we can actually move forward.

Sadly we will never move forward as a club while he's owner.

Well said worcester about time 99.9% fans woke up ffs what are they expecting next season under tan a revolution.

From the looks of it, Tan is waiting for the Sala court case to conclude, believing that's the only way he’ll recover some of his money.

Judging by his inability to sack Riza, you can be sure he'll see that through.

The problem for us is that we’re stuck in limbo and football moves fast.

Plymouth have shown how to do relegation properly. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re pushing for promotion next season: good manager, young squad and if it wasn’t for Rooney, they’d still be a Championship club.

With the other team coming down alongside us, an immediate bounce-back won't be easy!

We need to sort out this mess of a club urgently, starting at the very top, with owners who actually want to see us succeed and enjoy the journey.

We all lapped up Tan’s money after Ridsdale sold us up the river.

He continues to bail us out every month …. Anyone else going to step up? I doubt it

I've been saying for a few years that he won't sell up until the Sala case is over & I don't think it has anything to do with the money but about saving face.
