i dont agree with the canton lads have to be next to the away fans, you can make a noise anywhere, some people just sit there like they do in a rugby match, just make any noise make volume, some will sing some will shout

The fans can only try. but in my opinion the Club our at fault,by that I mean the people who run it.
Carl has contacted Gethin Jenkins a couple of weeks ago about it, but Gethin did not want to comment about it and would not let Wayne Nash either. We will try again.

Most away teams out sing us, including Palace with a few hundred yet the crowds are over 22,000 :o :o

Whats the chance of someone like Terry Philips doing a survey about the atmosphere in the new ground. He should be able to ask a broad range of fans and get their ideas to what should be done.

I was away for the Doncaster game. What was the atmosphere like for that one?
I'm told it was electric. Seem to recall pretty good for the swansea game and the leicester play off semi. If that's right surely it's not the stadium but the team and fans fault if its been lacking in other games? Personally I put it down to performance on the pitch - it has been pretty mundane stuff and hard to get the fans going when they are bored stiff.

I'm as gutted as anyone about the lack of atmosphere but I think it'll get better with time. Its a case of the 'singers' being spread throughout the CCS. At Ninian Park you knew where to go, for me if I wasn't in Block F of the Bob Bank I'd be on the Grange End, others prefered Block A of the Grandstand.

When we moved to the CCS we were told that the Canton is the new Grange, thats a straight swap easy - and it shows as thats where any of our singing comes from. What about the Bob bank singers where did they go? Where did the boys from the Grandstand go?

I'm sure it'll come good in the end and we'll make the CCS a cauldron. :ayatollah:

I'm in the Canton stand and where i am there is a good amount of atmos but unfortunately the majority of the Canton stand are too happy to just sit and watch. There looks to be a good little section over by the away fans but to my mind not enought.
I personally don't like it when we sing "In the Swansea slums" when we are not playing the Jacks. I believe that this is giving them a shout and the Jacks probably love this, just as we would like to get a mention by them if we were to listen to them chanting our name against another team, in a strange kind of way i think we are giving them respect by doing that. I think we need a new song/tune that is solely identifiable with Cardiff City.
I'm sure it will get better but its frustrating at the moment and i agree with an earlier post that said that whats happening on the pitch is being conveyed to to supporters.
We are Cardiff City and we are letting ourselves down as fans at the moment i believe.

the atmosphere is much much better in the canton than antwhere else the only place i have not been is the grandstand

Re: Atmosphere at CCS

just below average i think but if this cast was on our atmosphere in a away games it would be excellent :ayatollah:

Re: Atmosphere at CCS

I'm located very close to the away fans, but apart from a couple of games the atmosphere has been poor. I agree with the people who say the singers are spread too far from one another, certainly is the case where I am as some people try and get some songs going, but not enough people join in.

Re: Atmosphere at CCS

We will never get the old atmosphere as we had at old ninian park, why the club have spoilt it, whoever came up with the plan of putting the away support like Milwall etc next to the family end need shagging they either no f**k all about football matches or it was Ridsdale last laugh.

The security always telling people to sit down, why do not they wait for an arguement or a complaint rather than upset supporters for no reason. The club is to blame not the supporters, nobody wants to get banned as they love going down to the City but if get in an aguement with security you know you can not win, no one wants to get banned so we keep quiet.

The club are to blame not the supporters or the new supporters they get threat of a banning order if they stand sing or enjoy the game to me its Ridsdale last laugh after we beat him and his beloved Leeds the fat Yorshire tw*t.

just my view :ayatollah:

these concerte bowls ,they have affected the atmosphere in all that has been built.,, the seating has had a big effect on the singing in the ground, in the good old days at ninian,, you would walk through the turnstiles and head for where the singing was, i took my 5year old to the hull game first ever match,,,, he kept banging his seat up and down, up of his chair, he was bored,,,,,,,, when i took my other son, whos now,21, on the bob bank, he played on the terrace, chasing chrisp packets about, and as i took him more he got into it, started watching the games,, but i cant take my little one now as he just gets on peoples nerves, who are trying to watch the game, ?

I seriously think the position of the away fans and those in the Canton has caused serious damage.

Never been to the Ricoh then Eddie?
Try it on the 19th. Makes the CCS seem like Galatasaray when Fenerbache pay a visit.

While the atmosphere is not good it’s down to the fans and not the club. We managed to create a good atmosphere against Leicester twice last season and the jacks to name a couple of games but at other games it has been awful. The reason for this is the fans not being up for singing and making a noise. Also we don’t have many original songs.

Maybe Ali could play recordings of our Fans in full voice? Not too loud, just enough to maybe get the boring plastic Bathplugs to join in. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
