Deal is completed a year long loan

The season long loan deal virtually done with Cardiff City paying 70% of his wages.

West Brom striker Karlan Grant.

18 goals 6 assists in the 2021/22 season

He played under Steve Bruce last season and that’s enough to make any good player turn bad.

The local media for West Brom are saying the deal is as good as done.

Season long loan with us paying the majority of the wages.

Updated

Cardiff City have submitted a loan offer to sign West Brom striker Karlan Grant.

Aged 26

Striker last season 31 matches / 3 goals

Erol Bulut has been keen to bolster City's attack this summer after the club finished the Championship's second-lowest scorers last term.

They have already brought in Yakou Meite and Ike Ugbo to bolster the forward line, while Dimitrios Goutas has been signed with a view to adding goals from set pieces. Aaron Ramsey is on the cusp of signing, too, which will add mountains of creativity to a side that has been sorely lacking it in recent seasons.

But in another potentially big moment in this transfer window, Cardiff are keen to prise Grant away from the Baggies, for whom he signed on a six-year deal for an eye-watering £15million from Huddersfield Town in 2020.

If this signing happens I really will get excited about next season. Are we quietly trying to build a squad for promotion?

yes,
Ive said it before but tan would not sign Ramsey if it meant he would give one last go at promotion.
Especialy with us paying for transfer embargo for January, I think were going to see a different Cardiff City.
Lets hope my theory works.

This would be a great move! Alot more fire power already with meite, ugko, Robinson. Add the creativity of ramsey, colwill, o dowda. Exciting times

Next up will be a Ralls/Wintle replacement. Ramsey being at the 10 or centre of the 3 in Bulet's 4231... Ampadu :-)

Any club getting out of this league upwards have had immense depth upfront.

Not saying we have the firepower but you do need multiple options.

Has lots of natural ability and a very good player. Dynamite shooting power in both left and right feet but sometimes he is kind of a lazy very laid back football player, not sure what happened to him as he certainly knows where the net is. Perhaps the 6 year contract West Brom dished out to him has made him way too comfortable in life, who knows... Has the potential to be a very good signing for us if committed ,its a gamble for sure. Could be a excellent signing, worth a punt for sure.

Wow, for a team under a transfer embargo we are certainly pulling a few rabbits out of the hat!!!

Could be a really exciting loan signing this one

Footballers do talk to each other, perhaps the Kipre, Sawyers, Robinson connection will work for us.

This could be a great signing with the right management.

The attacking side of the team really starting to sound good.

Hope we can get this deal done.

Karlan Grant is an interesting one. West Brom signed him at the peak of his powers for £15m, well over the odds, and gave him a six-year deal, which he’s still only half way through, but now their parachute payments have ended, they’re desperate to move him on, for Cardiff’s gain.

But consistency is his problem.

31 apps and 3 goals isn't hugely inspiring, though his previous seasons are better. He knows Robbo from WBA, could make a nice pairing if we played 2 up top sometimes

Edit: I should say in the scope of a loan I won't complain as much as if we were dropping a mill on him ha!

Played a lot on the wing last season I think. Could be the reason for the drop in goal tally.
