I see that Wrexham players / owners are getting behind and backing Notts Co to win their play - off .

The EFL play-offs begin tonight at 8pm.

It starts off with League One, as Peterborough United host Sheffield Wednesday.

Yeah.. Flint, Paterson and Vaulks starting for Wednesday.

Mistake by Vaulks leads to Peterborough taking an early lead through Jack Taylor, not great by the goalkeeper either.

Cardiff old boys being destroyed tonight. All three not Championship standard anymore. I feel for Sheffield Wednesday who finished on 96 points but now look destined to a third season in league one. It serves as another massive warning to City that if you go down to league one you don't automatically come back.

Incredible start to the play-offs as Peterborough beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-0 at home in the first leg. Posh already look to be in the final.

Sheffield Wednesday finished 19 points ahead of Peterborough - who only made the play-offs on the final day thanks to Sheffield Wednesday beating Derby.

Agree, the three ex-City players struggled tonight against another League One team - nowhere near Championship standard.

Like you say, a big warning to us. Sheffield Wednesday surely not going up, Ipswich were down there a while, Bolton have been there a few years etc.

Not an easy league to get out of, even though a lot of people seem to think it is.

I think playoff semi finals need to become a one leg game to take place at the team who finish 3&4th. Some of the football played by Peterborough tonight was outstanding

You could not make this up how these 2 teams ended up tonight and the way the 1st leg played out .
The play offs were brought in to make the season more interesting and give clubs something to play for.
Weather your a fan or not of this system - It keeps the season going to the final day .

Bring back the relegation play offs I say. A four team playoff between Reading, us, QPR and Rothwrham would be carnage.

Three more play-off first legs today.

Starting with the second League One first leg, as Bolton host Barnsley at 3pm.

Then, at 5.30pm, Luton go to Sunderland in the Championship.

League Two begins at 7.45pm, with Salford playing Stockport at home.

Re: " EFL PLAY-OFFS TOPIC "

It finished 1-1 between Bolton and Barnsley in the second of the League One first legs. That one much more in the balance than the other semi final.

Next up today is the Championship starting, with Sunderland v Luton at 5.30pm.

Fully agree; and another reason to celebrate our remaining in the Championship this season. Lessons simply HAVE to be learned... :ayatollah:

Hopefully SL will be here next season with the tools he needs if not I sense trouble ahead.

Sunderland win 2-1 at home to Luton in the first leg.

I get the feeling this is the year for Sunderland to go up. Amad Diallo is one of the best players in the Championship and won't be there next season if they don't go up. He'll either go back to Man Utd or get a Premier League/Bundesliga loan.

Salford won 1-0 at home to Stockport in the first League Two first leg.

Didn't see it because was watching Eurovision

Two more games today as the last of the first legs take place.

Coventry are hosting Middlesbrough in the Championship, that started at 12pm.

Later, in League Two at 7pm, Bradford play Carlisle at home.

Re: " EFL PLAY-OFFS TOPIC "

It finishes 0-0 between Coventry and Middlesbrough in the first leg.

Both of the Championship semi finals in the balance, Sunderland won 2-1 against Luton at home in the other semi final.

Re: " EFL PLAY-OFFS TOPIC "

Sun May 14, 2023 8:04 pm

Bradford take a lead to Carlisle, after winning their home leg 1-0 in League Two.

No play-off games on Monday but the second legs start on Tuesday night, when Luton host Sunderland.

Away from the chaos of Cardiff City, the play-offs continue tonight.

Luton and Sunderland play their second leg at Kenilworth Road, with the visitors 2-1 up from the first leg.

Luton have gone ahead early on. 2-2 on aggregate now.

Osho with the goal.

Luton are battering Sunderland. Not sure how it's only 1-0 on the night.

Big second half ahead.

As I posted that, Lockyer scores to put Luton 2-0 up on the night and 3-2 up on aggregate.

They deserve it.

Luton have been brilliant. Totally dominating.

Like you say, Sunderland can't handle it.

Big second half ahead.

Glad I watched this instead of the Milan Derby.
