Would swop stadiums today
I rem The Riddler around my house, he said We could make Ninian Park 35,000 Capacity, BUT we have to move due to the finance as a New Retail Park will pay for it all.
Yet many made beyond £millions and walked away.
And We are still in debt.
Dont even have the over priced shit catering.

Jules originally 10 years till 2019 , then we had another big allowance of money from them and we gave them I think 5 or 20 years more?

Overpriced shit catering. Overpriced shit beer.
We don't even have a decent pub right next to the ground. Most grounds have designated home pubs right by the ground but all we got is the sand Martin where you have to buy food to get a drink
I think most people would take ninian Park back

No longer have to have a meal to drink in the Sand Martin

Yes its a travesty that we were all taken in by the new lifeless soulless stadium by big money men.
Wish we had followed the likes of Wolves at The Mol. Actually Ninian Park would have continued to be an awesome place with probably less investment.
I know we all like to live in the past ( especially us old uns) but we have sold our heritage in more ways than one.
Lots of contributors on here left after being disillusioned with lots of stuff in the Tan era.
Oh for those bovril plastic cup nights once more.
Heritage and feeling part of something has taken a battering but we will forever be Blue
Birds fans - not red customers !!
Oh for Ninian Park

God I miss Ninian Park, absolutely loved it there especially the Grange End, we now have a lovely stadium with great facilities but it will never have the same atmosphere and feeling as the old one sadly.

Really I didn’t know this. I’ve been going to the casino or Ivor Davies. (I used to go to the ninian pub but that’s sadly gone now also)

My memories of Ninian Park will stay with me for ever. I had seen a few games in the early 60's but I became a regular in the 66/67 season. Night games were magical, stood in the Grange End and looking at the Canton stand where pipes and fags were being lit, the lights were everywhere and it was constant. The smell of bovril and Radio Ninian playing the only 3 records (it seemed) that they had. Haven't been this season due to health issues, but nothing ever compares with the ball hitting the back of the net for city. (Yes, we scored a few goals then) Ah, Ninian Park xxx.

I am glad someone else remembers that. The twinkling lights in the Canton Stand of people lighting up. And though i usually went on the train on Saturdays we would often go in the car with my friends father in the night and the view of the ground lit up as we came down Leckwith Hill was magical!

By the end, Ninian Park was a dump which needed completely knocking down and rebuilding. Even if we had stayed there, it would have been rebuilt in a similar way to the Cardiff City Stadium and the only remaining thing from the original would have been the name.
There’s a reason why so many clubs have moved to new stadia - the old ones were unsafe and not fit for modern society. The only reason that people have fond memories of Ninian Park is the football memories combined with the fact that we were all younger with less responsibilities.
We now have a stadium to see us for another 100 years. There are lots of things I miss about the old days, but Ninian Park from around 1985 onwards isn’t one of them.

Ninian Park reminiscences are with many of us. The point I take from the initial post is how individuals have profited by £millions from our new ground, and continue to do so also from retail park, whilst the clubs finances are perilous. For years the hospitality revenue that must have been generated didn’t show in accounts as it was clearly going elsewhere.

I disagree, many clubs with new stadiums now are soulless.
West Ham fans hate their new stadium.
There is nothing about the new stadium that I and many others I know like.
I loved Ninian Park, shithole to you , but I loved it.

Well the first few years all the revenue from the hospitality went to PMG , unbelievable and shocking.

I don’t understand the love for Ninian Park as she was when we left. If a home is a slum and unfit for habitation, there comes a time when it cannot be restored. It becomes not viable to repair and needs replacing- this, sadly, happened to our fondly remembered former home. My opinion.

It was used to pay pmg 9 million shprtfall on the stadium, we did get a percentage but it wasn't as good as if we owned them .

Loved ninian Park, loved the old school feeling but CCS is a great stadium and had some really great nights there .

Without pmg funding the 9 million shortfall they stadium wouldn't of been built .Riddler had them over a barrel on it .

first game August 1962. Some great games, nights, and always prefer an old traditional stadium to new builds.
But always been told it's the fans that make a stadium and it's true. In sixty years of following City two games stand out head and shoulders for atmosphere, passion, noise, etc. City's 3-2 win over Man City and the play off semi final against Leicester City, both in the new place.

I didn’t always hate it, but it had been allowed to decay badly. I remember it in the 60s , 70s and early 80s with great fondness, but when I returned from living away in the early 90s it was done. Then again, I was in a much healthier state in the 60s 70s and 80s!

Yeah those two games were special especially the Leicester game when we had Gypes sent off and effectively down to nine men for the last 15 minutes.
I also remember a few games at NP when the atmosphere was brilliant, we all know about Real Madrid, Leeds Hambourg and a few more, but our 3rd division game in the mid 70's against Hereford was special, 35000 official attendance, and I always reckoned there was more like 60,000. For some reason I also remember a game just around Christmas time against Peterborough which we won 5-2. Still love NP.

Ninian Park was in a very poor way when we left.... but that's what made it magical, thats what made it ours. Teams and oppo fans hated coming to a place where fans snarled, and when full, it was a cauldron.
In good years of Sam Hammam, it was worth a good ten points a season.
I loved it, yes a dump maybe, but it was my dump where intimidation ruled, and where, over the years, the mighty fell
