A disgrace. But labour will still get in. .

He's like all politicians

A freeloading, self serving, incompetent, moral free bullshitter.

And because so many brain dead idiots in Wales vote Labour without thinking he knows he can do exactly what he wants and get away with it.

I suppose he'll be sending his expenses to Westminster and expecting them to pay.

Instead of spending thousands of pounds of taxpayers money on a jolly to watch a sport he has no interest in, perhaps the money could ne used to cut hospital waiting times "here in Wales".

Knob.

Fair play theres bollox trotted out, if ALL politicians and elected positions declined tickets then fair enough. Most, if not all countries will be represented by their political leaders but you want Wales to forgo this?

At least he will carry himself with dignity and decorum, no chance of seeing Mr Drakeford perched 40ft up on a zip line waving a poxy little flag with harness pulling hisnplums upto his chest quoting Homer or some other classic literary person. This forum attracts a fair amount of right of centre voters, fair enough, but its NOT representative of the country, i.e. the country that returns a Labour government.

You may not like him but you are in a small minority.

Is that just in case need more time to champion lbgt+ rights? Ffs lbgt+ community are boycotting taunement so dont need drakeford to be their spokesman unless he comes out while there....

Yes I would like Wales to forgo it. Why on earth do any of the countries need to be "represented by their political leaders" at a sporting event? Those countries are already represented by their football teams so why on earth to a bunch of freeloaders on a jolly need to turn up to "represent" any country?

Do the Welsh football team turn up at WAG government meetings?

Perhaps Mr Drakeford could set a precedent by not going and concentrating on the myriad problems he faces at home rather than enjoying a free trip for as long as Wales manage to stay in the tournament!

As I said in my post, ALL politicians are the same and as bad as each other.

You are one of the reasons why Liebour will get in power 'here in Wales' for ever. Valleys sheep would vote for a rattle snake if it had a red rosette on. My dad voted Labour so I got to butt. :banghead:

Politicians don’t have principles, Qatar shouldn’t have had the World Cup but it’s a side issue while we spend £billions on their oil and gas.

Well said...

Like him/Labour or not, Mark Drakeford represents Cymru (nee Wales) on the political and world stage, so is as entitled as any other leader to attend his country's events

It could be argued, depending on ones view, that countries like Qatar should be shunned for their home actions; or it could be seen as an opportunity to engage with the Qatari powers with diplomacy

My voting choices are immaterial and my politics are not for this platform, but I have met Mark Drakeford on a personal basis more than once and he comes across as a genuine, family orientated man, who just wants to do his best

Diplomacy seems to be the key word for a World Cup (in Qatar) that should never have been but is going ahead. The opportunity to engage, teach and learn rather than ignore or appease can only be good for all concerned

Chris you think they will take any notice of anyone regarding human rights? Despite numerous attempts by organisations qataries simply sidestep issues with statements that everyone knows is rubbish... they'll simply do same with him as they've got the world cup and thats all their interested in.... if this was about lbtg+ why has he said stay as long as wales are in competition? That smacks of a jolly at our expense and lbtg+ is an excuse .... the labour party represents llbtg+ workers but they declined to give qataries credence by having themselves being paraded as an organisation sanctioning Qatars human rights? Other people countries doing same. Can see why people are sceptical about his motivation for going.

I wonder how much the WAG are spending on it. It can be a pretty reasonable trip, but some of the better hotels come with eye watering prices.

Be interesting to see if they divulge the cost later? But bet it will be justified on cultural economic grounds.... hope he uses his position to persuade Qatar airlines to come back to Cardiff even if WG have funny way in supporting airport .

But that’s not the true picture, so here’s the reality check.
Election turnout is 46%, of which Labour gets roughly half.. say 23%. That is not representative of the country by any stretch. In fact it’s worse than that, but that’s another topic.

It’s a positive in a way, as there are not so many voting Labour as first appears. On the delusion, you too should probably be giving your Fathers shoes a wide berth.
