"Yeah he has missed a bit, unfortunately for him. He had quite a decent injury to the ankle. We are getting him on the grass and then he has to do something specific for him. He’ll be a good addition to the squad and he’s not too far away."

"It’s so frustrating doing that after coming into a new club. He is someone we will welcome with open arms when we can get him back. At the moment he is not there around the playing squad. He is building back up to getting on the grass. He is still a good character around the building."

"Romeo has got an injury to his ankle. It’s settled better than it looked after the game. It’s looking likely he will miss the weekend. Waiting on the timescale.

"He has been really good. He’s a good character. Top professional and started the game really well. It’s a shame.

"Throughout the season he has been a great addition to the squad. Fingers crossed it’s not too bad."

Mahlon Romeo will likely miss this weekend's clash owing to an ankle injury he sustained against Blackburn Rovers in midweek. It will probably mean Perry Ng is shifted over to right-back, with Jack Simpson tipped for a start in the heart of defence.

Rubin Colwill is out for a couple of weeks with a hip-flexor injury, Mark Hudson confirmed this week, while Isaak Davies, Ebou Adams, Kion Etete and Jamilu Collins are all still out of action.

Wigan, meanwhile, are expected to be without both Gwion Edwards and Jordan Cousins until the end of the month.

Oh, so nearly a chance! Cardiff break through Harris and O'Dowda, with the latter slotting a ball through to the former down the wing. But a crucial interception from Whatmough stops a chance coming for the visitors.

Ralls with a lovely hooked ball down the channel and Robinson fashions some space before bending a low cross into the box, but Harris can't get there.

Should be level. That's a bad miss from Wyke. Magennis is set clear down the wing and hits a first-time cross, all Wyke has to do is tap home, but it's a clean-air shot! All happening here.

Wigan have reacted well to the goal and are probably enjoying the lion's share of possession after the goal. But Cardiff just need to take the sting out now.
