" God Save The King "

Sun Sep 11, 2022 8:14 pm

This is a request.

When we play this week, think it would be wrong to boo when Middlesbrough and Huddersfield fans sing God Save The King.

Fair enough if you don't want to sing it yourself, but given recent events I think a measure of respect should be given when they sing this particular song.

I'm by no means a Royalist, although I respect their importance across the UK, but I do think this week there should be this measure of respect from our supporters.

100%

It would be a disgrace if anyone booed , low life’s if they do.

There would be No reason at all to boo after what’s happened.

Maybe even just once applaud after

I agree at this special time its not the time to boo the queen when she has just passed away.
When can we resume booing? Our next home game perhaps burnley
when they come to our stadium and sing it for the only reason to wind up welsh people and fans nothing to do with a deceased queen
so if they the english don' t sing it we will not respond so its down to them i personally don' t like booing but don' t like been wound either
So know good moaning about the welsh been disrespectful
It swings both ways
We are a nation also and don' t need to be told we are ruled by another bigger nation.
And sing it in scotland and ireland you will get the same response.

Personally I would sing along too, it is the British National Anthem and I am proud to be British as well as fiercely patriotic of being Welsh.

The passing of her Majesty has caused much upset amongst many Welsh people contrary to the comments of some on this topic on the forum.

God Save The King!

Very well said.

I believe that the Lord and master who will judge us is God. Rarely talk about it as it's a personal thing.

I also have had doubts about the importance of the Sovereign but God trusts them.

Therefore..

God Save The King!

We are missing a massive trick here ---- Let the English clubs sing " God Save The King " - Respect ;)

Remember Prince Charles - Prince of Wales - Now King Charles III ( OR EYE EYE EYE ) ;)

We Go With ..... " HE's One Of Our Own " - " He's One Of Our Own " ;) :bluescarf:

Excellent post. I find it truly shameful when the British national anthem is booed. We after all a principality of England. It really is truly embarrassing.

I totally agree about not booing and respect until The Queen is buried and then it’s back to business as usual.

Not a principality of england
We are a country.

I’ve never understood why the Welsh people boo the British nation anthem, I also don’t understand why England use the anthem for the country, why don’t they use their own national anthem, and leave god save the queen/king as solely a British anthem?

Totally agree it doesn't take much to show respect ,not like the shameful SNP yesterday

Great OP. We have a chance to show some real class and I hope we don’t throw it away with moronic behaviour that will serve no purpose whatsoever. We can gain some real respect or let ourselves down and be remembered for all the wrong things.

That would be brilliant.

Doesn't show any disrespect, acknowledges the seperate identities of Welsh and English and does so in a humorous way.

It would be fantastic if this happened.

Nor me, and i've been to loads of them. Booing an anthem at any point is disgraceful (just my opinion), but booing the British anthem being played and sung to commemorate the Queens passing is inexcusable and if the few wish to do so, the probability is that it will scar this club forever.
