Completely agree Chris. She represented Britain far better than any politician could and she did it tirelessly without ever complaining or explaining and for so long in a fast changing world. Always principled, genuinely interested in people, a tireless champion of the armed forces and countless charities, even working up to the day she passed away. We've lost a good one there, she's been incredible. Whatever people's opinions on the monarchy, she was a force for good and chose to use her privileged position to serve the nation and was a link to our past when Britain was truly great. A huge loss I think, on many levels, Rest In Peace Queen Elizabeth and thank you.

"No different from the old lady down the street dying. Her response to the Aberfan disaster was an utter disgrace."
I get your point but...
Totally different I'd say.
The old lady down the road probably went through hard times and struggled to feed herself and her kids at times.
If she'd grown up at the same time as the above mentioned.
I don't wish to distrespect anyone one dead or dying.
But no time for the monarchy or politicians.
They live in a totally different world to the rest of us.
Unlike the Royal family.
I don't wish harm in any of them.
Just wish they'd all move on and do something else worth while.

Who says you need to be Welsh to respect the Royal family or be a Cardiff city fan that lives in Wales.

As a republican what I do recognise is her "duty" it is completely irrelevant whether we disregard that or not, she sustained her duty. What I hope for is a streamlined system jettisoning the hangers on consigning them to history, starting with the pervert Andrew. It is in need of radical reform or it will die off. Many old people die every day, what I now fear is a Tsunami of grief on a scale of Diana times ten all reason will evaporate.

OwainGlyndŵr123 wrote:So? 8 days later she visited. Her initial response to visiting was “why should I” or something along them lines. Disgrace. She was no queen of mine. I never wished death or harm to her, she is still a normal human being at the end of the day. But I fail to see why the Welsh respect the monarchy at all.
No, she feared that a visit would distract people from the main purpose which was to try and find any poor soul that may be alive. She later admitted the delay was something she regretted. But let’s not let the facts get in the way of ignorance.

We have lost an incredible woman and a true leader of all four nations.
Even as a republican, I can respect and applaud the immense job and servitude this lady has given to Great Britain.
She will be sorely missed.
RIP Queen Elizabeth II
