It was his big chance to shine today and he was very average ,was so hoping we found a gem but he just seems to coast in games, looks like he's carrying a bit of weight atm ,which make s him a bit short of that spark .hopefully can up his levels .

I was not that over awed by him when he broke through. Same with all of them tbh. Colwill though has been a bit disappointing of late. i don't know but he is coming over as a bit of a false dawn.

Hes got the skill but seems lazy .today just wasn't at the races.

He's a kid. Give him a chance. Going backwards? He's barely started his career!
Sat Feb 26, 2022 6:32 pm
They used to say same about young Earnie. He was always young until about 25!
Sat Feb 26, 2022 6:40 pm
Colwill didnt have much support today I think he is a good player and still very young his touch and hold up is good and with the right team around him you will see a much better player.
Collins is not good enough if Colwill has Hugle or Harris then he maybe a lot better
Sat Feb 26, 2022 6:49 pm
Today was not ideal for him. He’s better running ahead of midfield but played today not knowing what his role really was. Did a few decent things and certainly better than the hopeless Collins and Vaulks. Vaulks has no technical ability and is so slow and has no skill. Collins is just hopeless. Move them both on this summer.
Sat Feb 26, 2022 7:05 pm
He needs to work harder if he's to make it. Plenty of ability work rate not good enough.

Well said Eastleigh give the guy a cha ce they ate doing their best

Apparently he's another player who has the sickness bug. We'll be lucky to field 11 fully fit players on Tuesday.
Sat Feb 26, 2022 7:16 pm
I could see today what Morison has been saying that he needs to work harder without the ball, he was good with the ball and some neat touches, but he will need to work on closing players down if he is going to make a top player

We have tried to be conditioned by some into believing Colwill and the other youngsters were something out of the ordinary.
I've never rated the youngsters however one or two are now showing some promise. Colwill was not one of them.
How he got a Wales call up, I don't k ow if anyone will know.

Apparently Tan is picking the Wales squad too.

I'll come out in support for you here.
I have watched a lot of the U23 in the last 2 seasons and the only one that stuck out for me is Isaak Davies. I think he might make it if he beefs himself up over the next season or so.

Wez,
With you on this , Colwill has def gone backwards and needs to prove himself as he is def not the player he was last year.

Colwill needs time.
It is obvious the boy can play and if given time by whoever is managing him, will flourish and prosper.
Morison I believe is managing his development carefully.
Football fans at all clubs forget that all young players can't play like Messi every game.
Picking a football team to win each week has so many variables.
The development of the team for the long term is the most important component, I am sure you would agree.
Short term gain except in extreme circumstances is to be avoided.
The confidence of the team lately seems to be much better.
I am extremely happy with the progress made by the team over the last couple of months.

I'm going to show my age here but I remember Jimmy Andrews telling me about the importance of having good attacking partnerships and how when it's right the make each other better players. Today RC was saddled with the hapless Collins who lets face it is not going to get any better.
Today on a number of occasions I saw RC receive the ball and link play into the wide area with Drameh, Doyle and Doughty, I don't recall a single instance where Collins did anything of consequence, except miss our best chance in the game. If the shoe was on the other foot and RC had that chance in my opinion we would have got a draw today,
Not only that but RC is also our joint top scorer this season so IF he is "Going Backwards" I'm a dutchman named Van Klump.

Castle If you remember Jimmy Andrews I am probably around the same age as you are older.
I think we are on the same page with our observations.

There's a player there but needs to work a bit harder .

Wez he's a kid who has appeared from nowhere but has potential.
We don't know what he is doing in training
We don't know what instructions Morisson is giving him
Morisson I think is protecting him until he develops further
Colwill has shown potential at a very young age
With young players don't expect to much and you won't be disappointed but with players who have shown potential , be patient and leave the development blossom because one day we could have a fully fledged international player on our hands.
I hope he is the future.

If you read what I said I think he can be a top player but he looks like he's put weight on and he's definitely not getting around the pitch as much as earlier in the season.
Sat Feb 26, 2022 9:26 pm
Give the boy a chance. He wasn't feeling 100% following a sickness bug which had hit the whole squad. He's not a striker but forced to play up front. He's got a very bright future but for some reason there seem to be plenty on this forum who are keen to be harsh on our youngsters instead of encouraging them.

Wez
I think you need to read your posts through the thread.
Which one are we supposed to reply to ?
lol
Each one has a different slant, no problem I have had a good swig to.

I’m not sure I would say Colwill has gone backwards but he’s certainly not pushing on like others such as McGuinness, Bagan, Isaac Davies and, to a lesser extent, Harris.
That said, I still think Colwill will make it. Today was tough because Collins is just incapable of bringing others into the game like Hugill.
We’ll see more of Colwill this season but Morison has already said he’ll be a better player next season and that seems to indicate there is a conditioning issue that they’ll sort in the summer.
Give some of these youngsters a break, there will be ups and downs but, for Colwill, you can’t forget the goals against Forest and Liverpool that show he has got something.
Sat Feb 26, 2022 10:47 pm
He's barely turned 19 ffs. Have some patience.

Colwill is the big decision for the club
Sell him for peanuts to a footballing club to develop the obvious talent or find a first team coach who doesn't play whatever he just leaned in coach school. He doesn't fit our 532 or if you listen to SM a 352
his first touch tells you he is a talent, it's obvious he isn't going to go tearing around the pitch and we love all that, has he scored more than davies in less mins ( i think Davies is the real deal)
We need someone in charge who know their shit and not wet behind the ears. Colwell needs the ball to his feet in the final third

I never expected a decent response from you. To ridicule any youngster from our club is extremely poor in my opinion and if anything sums up your ex referee background.
Mike Riley you are without a doubt and I wonder why you in fact support the club in anyway besides trying to be a Mod (because that’s what you’re after).
He’s a young lad who needs to grow and understand football something you obviously do not understand at all. You might have your opinions which I understand are yours but your understanding of players are completely in line with Mike Riley the referees champion which are totally out of touch of the normal supporters.

Colwill going backwards!
Jeez, I can’t believe some of the comments on here - except form Barclay.
Give him a chance he’s a young kid. Anyone can see. He’s got potential, whether that’s realised or not is another matter.

Hit the nail right on the head there as Colwill has scored a goal every 105 minutes he is on the pitch and that from limited appearances in a struggling team. Compare that to Collins who has scored a goal every 470 minutes only Ikpeazu is better this season.
Not bad for a youngster.
