A player Dalman & Media Wales hyped about
Glen Williams:
Max Watters didn't go down the tunnel at half-time. He remains sitting in the stands. Clearly disappointed - but Morison felt he had to take action, just not Championship level.
Originally Dalman & Glen Williams both made out City were paying £1mill until later found out it was £200,000 still way to

Glen Williams tonight:
Watters off, Hugill on. Got to say, that seems justified. Watters has had two chances but aside from that has been completely out of it.

I’m not really sure how you can write off a young player who’s not really been given much of a chance already. His movement is brilliant as seen with his second chance today, yes he didn’t close down once or twice. Also didn’t help that his strike partner was Davies with all the hoofs upfield towards them, they are never going to thrive off that. And he wasn’t the worst player for us in that first half, Davies had a very poor game today I thought.
His goal scoring record so far speaks for itself so he knows where the goal is, whether it be at a lower league or not. Let the lad at least have a good run playing before writing him off saying he’s not good enough.

Wheres my post gone? ,annis we had a great result tonight and you post the negative post against the club having a dig, watters could of scored tonight if moores head didn't get in the way ,admittedly he didn't have the best game but is there any need for this topic and then deleting a post when some one has a different opinion?

Another big win for @CardiffCityFC. @joelbagan has come through tough time to shine and score 2 on trot. Rotation underlined post-January squad depth. Steve Morison will not perish wondering over subs. Watters must now react as @isaacdavies77 did after #Cherries substitution .

99% not my tweets etc
But I do agree with them.
He knows where the goals are in the lower leagues
Steve Morison, did right, and I back our managers decision.

My opinion not good enough at Championship level.

Watch out, we are not allowed opinions as it’s a dictatorship by the usual suspects
I agree, lower league.

Not sure if Morison is the man to lead a team/club rebuild at championship level, but that was the right decision this evening. Watters doesn't have Hugils strength and technique or Davies' quickness.
We'll get out money back and a little extra (if it was £200K)
Ballsy call but i still wouldn't give him the job unless we change structure and bring in a DoF
Tue Feb 15, 2022 10:44 pm
Morison is ruthless. He wants the job full time.
Max needs to watch and learn.
I won't be slagging him off. I hope he knuckles done.
There is potential there.

Just saying exactly what happened, Def not a dig at my club, a dig at the bullshitters yes.
Never my club, these people are not my club, they come and go.

The reason he was correctly taken off is he wasn't closing down. Great management on big call to make
Tue Feb 15, 2022 10:49 pm
We should all be able to see just how Morison sets the team up to play and a very important part of that plan is to press from the front. On that front Watters was lacking alowing Coventry to build from the back without pressure. You couldn't fail to notice the difference Hugil made when he came on and also Doyle later on.It was also heartening to hear Morisons comments after the match regarding Watters and like King if he wants to be a top championship he needs to work on his press. For me the manager's attitude is spot on" My way or the highway " after all if we lose 2 in a row now all the idiots on here will be calling for his head again lead by the whopper that is Barclay.

Cardiff City's style does not suit his game. He needs balls threaded through to him on the floor. We were pumping balls up to him and he was up against big center backs. Why didn't Smithies play the ball out instead of always lumping it up the field. It works with Hugill but not with Watters.

I don’t think it was only Watters who wasn’t pressing though, he was just made the scapegoat by Morison after not closing down the keeper. You could see on the sidelines he was livid about that and immediately called for Hugill, which I don’t agree with. As I’ve said above he wasn’t our worst performer in the first half. Yes the substitution worked but I wouldn’t call it a master stroke by Morison as I think the initial team set up was just not right. But we won and that’s all that matters tonight.

Morison did what needed to be done tonight but I hope Watters does learn from this because at times there does look to be a player in there, but not a target man and on the evidence tonight not a player who enjoys the high press aspect. But he is only 22 years of age with less than a handful of starts in the Championship.
As you say he needs to knuckle down and watch, listen and learn because it's far to early to write him off in my opinion.
Tue Feb 15, 2022 10:56 pm
It’s just an opinion!
Several before him have had the treatment and responded hopefully he will.
He’s just got to look at Pack, Bacuna and Collins not even making the squad at all.
I for one hope he gets a himself back on track and starts banging them in because in my opinion Davies and King could have been taken off early.

A few things have been said about morisons man management.
Criticism of Davies
Criticism of Bagan
Hauling off watters tonight.
I’ll leave it to you if they were the correct decisions or not.

Bagan is getting better and better.
Morison doing a good job under the circumstances

He is not going to get that much space in the championship. If he played for Fulham maybe, but he is never going to be playing for a team on the front foot all game allowing the midfield that extra bit of time to play the slotted pass between the full back and centre half.
He'll be one of those L1 terrors as hell play for one of the better teams trying to get promoted then find it too tough at the bottom of the championship again living off scraps.

'Just wasn't good enough' - Cardiff City boss Steve Morison's blunt verdict on Max Watters substitution
Tue Feb 15, 2022 11:06 pm
Watters had his chance and simply did not carry out what the manager wanted
i have said before he just seems to lope about like a farmer in a field
hugill showed in 10 mins what the manager wanted so no good sulking in the stand he got the shout to play above both new strikers and harris and collins but did not get stuck in "simple as"
Tue Feb 15, 2022 11:06 pm
I did feel for Watters. Everyone was underperforming at that point. Ultimately though Morison is not there to be a nice guy, we won the game , so the manager was proven right. A bit of ruthlesness is necessary and Morison has shown with Bagan and Davies, that one bad game is certainly not the end for a player. Watters will have a chance to respond
SM doing an excellent job with a team that was heading one way, not so long ago in my opinion
Tue Feb 15, 2022 11:12 pm
Got to be honest, a group of six of us were all crying out for Watters to be taken off after 15 minutes.
He wasn’t running for the ball or, more importantly, closing down the opposition.
Watters was the same against Barnsley. Morison was absolutely right to take him off, the difference Hugill made to the whole team was huge.
A brave decision but absolutely right in my opinion.

Apparently your negative if you say what you feel and saw.
The truth is Watters was not good enough.
