Coronavirus 'plan B': Fans will need vaccine pass to attend

Coronavirus 'plan B': Fans will need vaccine pass to attend events in England with over 10,000 people from next Wednesday

BBC

Wednesday 10th December 2021

Anfield and other Premier League grounds will bring in further checks

Fans will need to show proof of double vaccination or a negative test to attend sporting events with crowds of more than 10,000 people in England under new Covid-19 rules.

The government has made the NHS Covid pass mandatory at such events because of the spread of the Omicron variant.

The rules will come into effect from Wednesday, 15 December.

Access to any event in excess of 10,000 people in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland already requires a Covid pass.

Just means England now doing what Wales has been doing for ages.

Drakeford will be burning the midnight oil working out how to bring in tougher restrictions to outdo Boris. No doubt he'll be on the phone to Starmer asking what to do and he'll probably be having a chat with Krankie in Scotland too.

Don't be surprised if we're stopped from going to football again early in the new year.

Every single government is in cahoots with each other. They can't win if no-one complies

Not allowing attendance to a football match is discriminatory behaviour.

football is against all forms of discrimination? :P :?

Re: Coronavirus 'plan B': Fans will need vaccine pass to att

Thu Dec 09, 2021 11:12 pm

We all know discrimination is perfectly fine so long as it has the government's approval.

Just mock, abuse and discriminate the correct minority group and you'll be fine, lock them out football stadiums and shops. Come to think of it, they should be clearly seen so we can walk the other side of the road, perhaps a symbol on them on summit, just thinking aloud. Perhaps we can get them to work in special factories together

Or if it happens in Qatar. Absolutely fine then.

Proof of vaccine or negative lateral flow test.,which are freely available on the NHS website delivered to your home and some chemist's. Is it really to much to ask the unvaccinated to take these tests?

I can't recall anybody , vaccinated or not, complaining about a lateral flow test IF we have to have these unproven restrictions.

I guess the irony is that the unvaccinated are going to be the safest people in the ground! Crazy rules which have no logic! :bluebird:

I have to do one, and am not bothered tbh.now it looks like this new "variant" may still be as transmissible with or without being double jabbed, so does this mean EVERYONE should be taking lateral flow tests?? If not, why not??

Why are the unvaccinated going to be the safest in the ground?

Is this a wind up Rondo? Let's say 90% of the crowd have a vaccine passport and show this to get in, the other 10% have no vaccine passport so take an LFT which is obviously negative or they wouldn't be there.

Thus, we know the 10% do not carry the virus but we do not know how many of the 90% are actually carrying it, assuming you accept the fact that vaccinated people can catch and transmit the virus. I trust that makes sense. :bluebird:

But if you’re 3 vaccinated and there you’re safer potentially than unvaccinated who may pick up from A-symptomatic carriers.

Ah I misunderstood your comment. You mean safest in the ground for those 90mins when the game is on. Thought you meant the safest people in society in general on a day to day basis.

I thought I had replied to you SW, but obviously not.

By the safest I mean the 10% who have taken an LFT. Obviously we do not know how many of the vaccine passport entries are currently infected or transmitting it.......and therein lies the irony! Seriously, you could not right the script of how to ignore data and logic, and then pretend that this measure is keeping people safe.

To try and make it crystal for you SW......I understand that if I walk into the ground I am not carrying the virus, assuming a LFT works. But equally I am prepared to take the risk of a vaccine passport holder passing it on to me, as obviously we do not know the current infectious status of the passport holders! :bluebird:

Sorry mate but I still don’t see how that makes you safer than say me, who’s 2 weeks passed his 3rd jab.

I'm not safe from people who show a vaccine passport but unfortunately are carrying the virus, which they may not know about.

Please read more carefully, this thread is talking about getting into the ground. I have laid it out and cannot put it into a more simplistic text, if you care to read the previous posts.....maybe from the top.

But that said, I am prepared to take the risk that the vaccinated pose in this current crazy, non logical system. :bluebird:

Although I agree with the theory, in practice people don't really have to test themselves. You have to send the barcode number declaring the test result. You don't have to do it. Tests at home relies on people actually doing them.

The truth is ANYBODY could carry a virus, unvaxxinated or not.

It's a farce, and nothing to do with crowd safety imo

Exactly it's completely pointless if you allow lateral flows, the only way it would work is if the unvaccinated go into a room for twenty minutes and have the test taken by a doctor or someone, otherwise it's just their word that they have taken a negative test, and lets be honest I doubt any actually do a test.

No away games for me either then. Even with vaccinations I won't support or comply with medical tyranny.

At least its getting us over the pandemic...oh no wait a second it isn't making a blind bit of difference. Who would have thought?
