Update: ‘ Chris Wilder & Neil Harris ‘

Wed Oct 27, 2021 8:26 am

I have been told today that 100% Chris Wilder has turned us down due to No finances and wanted total control of the team etc

Neil Harris was approached as I had previously said, but does not want to return and will continue to be paid monthly.

I believe Mick McCarthy has agreed a settlement of £900,000 in instalments over the next year.

I read someone said Neil Harris could not of been offered the job as if he was and said No they could stop Paying him

Harris was sacked and is being paid monthly, if he he asked back and says No then that has nothing to do with his previous contract and City still have to keep paying him.

Plus when MP Dalman laughed when asked about Harris was on the list, Harris had been asked in the final 10 days of Mick being in charge and had said NO by the time the meeting took place on Saturday.

Also as everyone knows you actually can’t take anything Dalman says seriously.

Well if that's the case it's down to Hudson, Beale or Morison (if we show signs of progress in nest 3 games) for me.

Time for the club, and us fans !, to be brave and hold our nerve whilst we give a younger guy a chance to change the philosophy.

The requirement for this season is just to stay up, then show progression during a pretty significant re-build of the squad.

Agree. I’m expecting there to be more in the frame than those 3 though.

1 How much has the Board's incompetence cost the club by just going for the "easy" manager choices as opposed to getting a good manager.

2 If the manager doesn't have control of the team, who does as nobody on the Board seems to have a clue?

Understand Harris's reasoning.. but wilder? How many clubs have got money to spend those that have money not looking for manager or not likely needing one in near future...
As for outside interference must have spoken to warnock Harris mick and uncle John cobbly and all or looks at this forum... :D but if thats his motivation "MONEY" glad he's not coming had enough of managers p+++++g money in wind with crap players on high wages.

Who are the very good managers who have applied for the job?

It's what I have been reliably told, but not any names, there are now over 50 managers interested!

Allan I think you can write many of those out, as there are people throwing their hat in the ring that have no chance of getting anywhere near, the job!

Allan, you and I could apply and as long as we agree to be yes men we have a chance.
Yes their are 40-50 managers applied but I honestly some of the names Barry Town would not even let them have an interview.

Why would Neil Harris come back, effectively being furloughed and paid a whopping great salary. Not convinced with Wilder anyway, wasted a crazy amount of money at Sheff United on Brewster, Mousset and McBurnie, and his old timers in Billy Sharp and McGoldrick have done a better job. That said, he's done a great job with no budget historically.

Re: Update: ‘ Chris Wilder & Neil Harris ‘

Hasn’t Dalman admitted he’s a small bit player at the club, same goes for Choo, with neither even being an influencer, so the only way we’re going to get a decent manager is for Tan to pick up the phone and convince his chosen one that there is a future that doesn’t involve spiralling down the leagues. Without this it appears that the only option is appointing a manager from within, this is also the cheapest option and in line with Dalman’s comments. If it’s true that Harris turned us down, it feels like a nightmare that you can’t wake up from.

I'm not an expert in Employment Law and we don't know the full details of that final agreement. But if it was the sort of "gardening leave" type agreement, if he was to be offered that same role back and refused it that might well effect whether he continued to get paid by us.

Whatever the case I'm glad he's not coming back

I bet we have far more to choose from than just those three names. And we don't even know for sure if they applied.
