I still can't get over how very poor we were at Coventry.

That night I feared a relegation fight for us and since then we have showed no ability to get out of it.

The problem lies at the very top & the famous CCFC committee, please all open your eyes, they are killing our club slowly

Spot on, but can't understand why Vincent Tan can't see it.
I, along with most other clubs, didn't want Neil Harris nor Mick. This type of football will just drive supporters away and certainly won't be attracting any new ones, and that will cost Tan a lot more money.

Re: No where for big mick to go

Tue Sep 28, 2021 8:43 pm

I said on here when we lost NML, Whyte, Ojo, Wilson, Junior, Murphy we would struggle. Whatever you thought of those players they did add pace and guile in an otherwise awful team. Now we just have an awful team.

He's gotta go and the transfer committee..

Either way, we are in real trouble

Re: No where for big mick to go

Tue Sep 28, 2021 8:45 pm

I was out tonight, I came home at the start of the 2nd half, and the only outfield player, not including the late subs who seemed to putting in any effort was Flint. How the f**k is Bacuna playing professional football?

Re: No where for big mick to go

Tue Sep 28, 2021 8:50 pm

It is not just a case of Vincent Tan and the Committee being at fault any time we are in a slump.
Tonight:
We were in the game for 20 mins at rhe end of the first half and 10 mins after 1/2 time. We had no luck at all.
BUT:MM has questionsto answer:

Our game plan was too defensive from the start.
We are devoid of any PACE in the team apart from Giles.
We didnt play arguably the best centre forward in the league.
We know our midfield is weak so why loan out Wintle?
Many on here disliked Murphy but at least he ran at players at pace. Why loan him out?
I dont think these decisions were forced on MM.
Why make 3 substitutes but leave on Pack as our least mobile midfield “rock” , and in my opion Vaulks was better than him- at least he runs. (If Rallsplays next time Pack should dropped).

For me, give MM one more game to turn it around!

Has to go Wez

Sack him and Give Morrison 2/3 days to prepare for Saturday see what he can do with this bunch of misfits because that’s what we have squad wise it’s a mess and massively unbalanced

People can blame tan etc all they want facts are there is no money and it’s the managers job to assemble the best squad he can on a shoestring if needed and coach to win

Who plays 5 Centr backs when you have got wing backs?

Who let’s all your wingers go at the club so you are stuck with same formation and no plan B?

He could have gone 4 at the back last few games with a diamond so it’s not he can’t change things he doesn’t want to, and if he ain’t gonna change anything then how can he expect to win games or get different results absolute madness

Re: No where for big mick to go

Tue Sep 28, 2021 9:03 pm

Can blame the board all you like Annis and we know that you’re not a fan ;) but there are clubs with less money than us and worse players but they aren’t this bad.

Mick putting out 5 centre backs tonight is his call. Continuing to play Bacuna up top is his call. Not using the likes of Colwill, Sang in their correct positions is his call.

Yes we are light on numbers (because money has been wasted) but Mick has stripped any and all creativity from this team. There were players like Junior who didn’t get a look in when he came last season. Murphy couldn’t get in the team this season. That is on Mick - if he had wanted them I’m sure they would have stayed.

Totally agree with this. He had a choice about Whyte, Wintle, Murphy and Watters. Loaned them all and left us with what? No pace or guile at all. The squad had options and even with the clubs understandable cut backs it should not mean we should get smashed every week. Our budget is still competitive in this league. McCarthy's summer decisions and tactics have been woeful.

Re: No where for big mick to go

Absolutely lost the plot. We can field a 442 or a 352 with players playing in their correct positions but he picks 5 centre halves and two holding midfielders . Dreadful. I don't usually call for a managers head but he has clearly lost the dressing room and has no clue what to do about it. Get sol back

Sol put in a MOM performance tonight.. Boro looked decent

Because it will cost loads of money to sack MM the board will try to avoid sacking MM until they absolutely have to. We are probably not quite there yet defeat against Reading and possibly even Swansea should do it.

I assume that given the results in the last few games and tonight's frankly bizarre team selection there can't be too many left defending him.

This is exactly right. MM hasn't had money but the decisions have been his. 5 mins before kickoff I saw the team and said 5 centre backs. Giles is a winger not a striker. Collins is hopeless and keifer on bench. Game was over before kick off. Style of play was in the air all night and has to be one of the all time 2orst performances of recent years

Great post. Whilst the board can be blamed for hiring Mick, the performances this season are down to him. We still have more or less the same starting eleven from the end of last season. The board can’t be blamed for the current form, unless they don’t make a change within the next two games. I worry that if he gets another game and he somehow manages to win that, then we are just prolonging the inevitable. He could even go on a decent run but it’s still the same dire dinosaur tactics. We will go nowhere until he’s moved on. I said before the Blackburn game we had played 5 out of the bottom 7 and Blackburn should show us where we are aiming for this season. And they really did, and tonight’s performance just back up the fact that we really are in a relegation scrap.

Mick is going through the motions, he has been in the game far too long to know how these things end, with a decent pay off or paid garden leave until your contract ends and lets face it there will not be many takers for his service so we'll end up with two managers on the pay roll taking up valuable salary.

5 centre halfs was a F.U to the board if you ask me, "this is all i have to work with"............ Hopefully the business men at the club negotiated a contract with a break clause if results were damaging the clubs stability.

I agree MM is toast and the owners need to step up quickly and deal with him. I have little sympathy for MM as he has willingly done the owners bidding and has been telling everyone he is fine with the squad he has. But setting up at home with 5 CB (2 playing out of position as WB) beggars belief but to add 2 defensive midfielders with a further centre midfielder player the number 10 role. plus the totally ineffective Collins as our single forward shows me he has lost the plot.

History is repeating itself again at our club, but not ancient history recent history, and for me were are now in a far more serious position than when Trollope got sacked. Normally I would wait for 12 games before making any guess about our final league position but for me we are now nailed on bottom 5 and it could easily become bottom 3.

It's now down to the owners to decide how much they value our Championship position but more importantly for the fans we will find out IF they care.

I've been one of the biggest critics of Murphy, stated he should go many times but if given the option of THIS squad with or without him then I would have kept him 100% until we found a replacement.

MM position became untenable when the Canton stand started singing sacked in the morning and this was long before WBA sang it with city fans joining in... and people associated with club were not exactly happy with what's going on with the teams performances when I spoke to them tonight at ground.... shame didn't get to ask
ken choo on his thoughts he was at game like most games.

Re: No where for big mick to go

MM likes big central defenders. He wants to play Mozza and flinty together but you can’t do that in a back four they would get murdered. But nelson had a shocker tonight but he has been in the past our best defender. We have no creativity in midfeailed we cant string two passes together why oh why was Collins and Giles defending corners their not going to win the ball in the air leave them upfield to be used on the break. We are not to good to go down not on his showing. I am more worried this season than the other bad seasos we’ve had but nothing can change because we haven’t any money.
