We need to make up our minds.
If Steve Morison leaves I’ll be gutted. Want him as next manager.

I don't think there have been many questions relating to McCarthy's role?
I may be wrong but I don't recall other than he was doing a decent job?

Head of the academy though isn’t he?

Could he have been persuaded to stay or was he too easily allowed to go is the one question I have?
Either way, I wish him all the very best of luck in his next challenge![]()

Chris these people move every so many years to enhance their reputation..... he looks to have sorted out the academy now but why as it taken 8yrs of his tenure to do it? So are we just lucky with youngsters coming into the academy or did he succeed where others failed......? Let's just hope tan as learned you need quality people in at academy to make it work so let's hope next incumbent as that quality.

Not 1 academy player has become a first team regular in the 8 years he has been here. Doesn’t that mean he has been a failure?

Yes, I am getting really confused !!
Many on this site, including the OP, have criticised tha Academy and the lack of players coming through.
Now the Head of the Academy who has overseen this level of performance has left and there is outcry on here![]()

I'm just waiting for the claim that James McCarthy had no say in anything and it's all Tan's faultOr that Tan hasn't put enough money in, and then claim the club is leaking money

I have no problem in people being worried about the progress of the club, etc., but you have to be objective and consistent. The Academy has either performed poorly over the last 8 years and therefore this isn't a huge loss, or it's performed well and this is a big loss !!

One complaint was against Bellamy and the 2nd was about 6 months ago when 2 unnamed academy staff were suspended.
Whatever the rights and wrongs of those complaints they appear to have happened on James McCarthys watch as Head of the Academy and in my opinion that is not a positive thing. Is this just the result of the latest investigation into bullying allegations?

Great post! Like you I am also becoming fed up with the lack of objectivity and consistency contained within posts about Vincent Tan. Obviously he can't be perfect but at the same time he can't be to blame for everything that doesn't work out.
Our last accounts showed we lost £12m which is a whisker away from the maximum loss allowed by Profit & Sustainability rules (aka Financial Fair Play). The loss was incurred even though we were in receipt of £36m in parachute payments.
I would think it was dead raving obvious that we would need severe financial cut backs this season to avoid going over the £13m per season maximum loss and face a possible transfer embargo/points deduction or heavy fine because we now receive no parachute payments at all.
Just imagine the outrage if Tan had sanctioned the 3 signings he allegedly vetoed and then in 12 months time we were deemed to have broken FFP/P&S Rules and faced sanctions?
We need to stop looking at things in isolation. There is a bigger picture and that is what we need to be looking at and at the same time use more objectivity.

Exactly it's impossible to be objective when there is an agenda. Sadly there is an agenda by some posters who want to paint Tan in the worst light possible.
The fact they contradict themselves to do that proves the total lack of objectivity.
