Max Watters starts along with Mark Harris and Isaak Davies, Kieron Evans, Ryan Kavanagh, Sam Bowen etc etc some of our best 18,19 , 21 & 22 year olds :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff CIty's Tavio d'Almeida also a player who has impressed say the club is also playing.

Cardiff City U23’s have had a big mixture of results this season.

After an awful few months of hammerings, City had a very successful February.

The League is mainly lower league clubs, with a few Championship clubs and a Premier Club included.

THIS SEASON:

WON 9

LOST 15

DRAWN 1

NO Lee Tomlin? So will Tomlin be on Saturday’s first team squad away at Brum or is he injured or unfit again?

Max Watters starts along with Mark Harris and Isaak Davies, Kieron Evans, Ryan Kavanagh, Sam Bowen etc etc some of our best 18,19 , 21 & 22 year olds :bluebird: :bluebird:

Coventry U23’s included a few new younger ones making their debut.

Cardiff City U23's play at home to Coventry U23's tomorrow at 1pm :bluebird:

Its expected that Lee Tomlin will once again play to get fully fit after nearly 7 months of not playing for the first team and only one start this season. McCarthy was expecting Tomlin fully fit by the end of February and has since stated Tomlin is way of the kind of match fitness he expects from his players.

Very concerning.

Watters and Harris playing. Neither will have proved to Mick they deserve a chance.

Ned,

Very very worrying and they have had a lot of defeats this season and I don’t think we are anywhere near as good as the CCFC Committee & Glen Williams keep saying and No way are they ready for Championship football.

NO wonder Mick McCarthy has not been playing the amount the Committee were going to have Neil Harris to play.

With McCarthy all the way, the majority of these players are no where near capable of being in a Championship team.

Very concerning, still not producing enough players from the Academy, not even asking for stars, just good enough for Championship level

Up until this season you have a good point. However, have you forgotten that Bagen, Sang, Colwell and Brown have all broken into the first team this season !? Harris has also played although I’m yet to be convinced by him.

It doesn’t excuse the previous 10 years but does demonstrate that we’re, hopefully, finally getting it right.

We won’t always get 4 breakthroughs in one season but one or two is what we could expect.

As for this result, take all those I’ve mentioned out of the U23 starting eleven and surely it’s no surprise if they get hammered ? That’s just how it goes at that level.

Mate, Bagen came through Southampton academy, Sang through Bolton and Manchester united's and never joines us till he was 21 or 22 years old , Brown Wealdstones and played 48 first team appearances for them, he is 23 now. Harris no manger seems to want,

Colwell is the the magic kid, took 10 plus years to get a player through, we shall hopefully see more of him first :bluebird: :bluebird:

These kids are being made out they are world beaters by the media, yes we have two or three who could make, we all need to calm down as not push these kids.

It matters not where they come from, they have obviously improved since arriving here!! Enough to have broken into a championship side, where they were at lower league standard before?
Another dig at our academy, why people expect stacks of young stars to roll off the line,I dont know? But we have some youngsters coming through, whereas before they were deemed not good enough by previous managers? Lets just get behind those who are making their way with us.results are poor admittedly, but we are not world beaters, even at 1st team level.

Need Tomlin fighting fit for next season if he stays, game changer and in my opinion brought more to the field than Wilson playing in the style we play and seems we are going to play but definitely needs to be 100% fit and keen. :bluebird:

The last 3 -4 seasons we have put every result out from both due to a lot of interest and also due to the CCFC Committee continuing to tell the media about how good the set up is now and that we have the best groups of footballers coming through for years .

There was also a more interest as well when Craig Bellamy was out in charge of the Accademy.

The CCFC Committee about 5 years ago put out bug stories on the Accademy so of course we have followed them more.

Personally I have always been interested in the local talent coming through :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:
