The man is f*cking deranged. Playing politics as usual. What’s the point in the adult population being vaccinated if we still have to stay 2 metres apart. Absolute madness.

The word FULL is key here plus social distances measures could mean the bare minimuIt could mean that we’ll be near enough back to normal but I do agree that he’s a power mad knob

Hopefully he just means not 'full' crowds.

Surely now we can get at least reduced crowds back into stadiums for the start of next season.

If the crowd is managed and spaced out then I dont see why it cant be feasible.

Now there is a vaccine which almost everyone would have had at least one dose of.

It's way way over the top if this is Drakeford's plan.

Yes. It could still be done with social distancing measures in place.

Who's going to police social distancing of any kind on Barry beach cardiff city centre...ect ect same for pubs they need unrestricted measures or wont be worth opening it will turn into a farce with places closed while others happily carrying on? He simply doesn't care about the people hes only interested in the politics of labour v conservatives always as been in this crisis.

I'm not sure this is any different to Boris and his team have said.

In fact Hancock said we wouldn't be fully back to normal until 2022.

Leeds/Reading haven't cancelled but that doesn't mean they are going ahead !! It just means that promoters can hang on to ticket money for longer, until the government tells them that there will be no mass gatherings !!

There isn't any specific reference to sports crowds in the original post so we just have to wait and hope.

I would suggest that once 75% of the population has had both jabs that will be the time when things can move quite quickly, or at least let's hope so !!

This is incredibly frustrating.. :banghead:

I fully expected not to see crowds at the CCS this season but to project that far when the other Covid-19 news is slowly improving as the vaccines are administered is both unnecessary and disheartening

“No full return to normal” is the key thing there. Reading and Leeds festivals have basically zero chance of being “fully normal”. Whether it’s rapid 5min tests on entry, proof of vaccination, limited ticket sales or reduced capacity, proof of a negative test with entry, distancing/masks, etc.

It doesn’t really seem any different to the other UK nations and any recent statements regarding easing of restrictions. Stadiums in England are opening up in May/June but with a maximum of 10k supporters, likewise with gyms opening and pubs and restaurants distancing will remain in place and masks in shops will still be needed. Quarantine measures will presumably still be in place if flying in from abroad or negative tests will be needed.

So we get promoted to the Premier league and get to play in front of crowds of around 11000 fans.

Its a f*cking joke.

Re: ' Not good news about football crowds returning? '

Cardiff and Swansea get promoted and the 1st thing they say is SORRY under welsh assembly rules we can't allow away fans in.

Sorry, I really don’t understand this. I thought that we were all supposed to be vaccinated by 31 July (well all those over 16). So why can’t we return next season? Surely not because of the so-called ‘variants’? Otherwise they would have us locked down forever. If this carries on much longer then nobody will take notice of these control rules (most aren’t following the rules now anyway).

I have always been a strong Labour voter however having seen what has happened lately with the idiots running wales I will not vote them again Drakeford and Gethin are the biggest pair of idiots I have ever seen in politics

We can talk about all this Pandemic and the essential shopping was a joke of the UK their issue on alcohol is clear that he has a problem with drink because of his personal reasons which it totally unfair on the pub industry.

They have to be removed not just welsh labour I am on about the whole of the welsh assembly need to be removed look at all the money been put into Cardiff airport and now into a failed Track and trace that has failed all over the UK including wales over 60 million more of our money being paid into a failed system.

Just for the record I am an NHS worker and very angry with the lousy pay rise offer from the Tories but I feel nothing would be better with another government in power however Wales needs change and that starts from either removing the whole assembly or a different bunch running it instead of the clowns there now

Does this guy know what the vaccination does? There is a lot of ignorance out there.

The vaccination does not prevent you from catching the virus. What is does do is prevent you becoming very ill if you do catch it.

Very difficult for even me to defend him here.

Strange things to say when local elections are looming. Could well be punished.

Oh well, might as well write-off attending a large part of next season now. :banghead:

Think heared labour well ahead in polls for assembly so guess this is encouraging drakeford with his let others try things before i do so I can always be right attitude... whats certain is labour need to be ousted from WG and Cardiff city council been in so long they think they're untouchable and can do what they like as we've seen "EG" Sargent case M4 relief rd to name 2.

Welsh Labour won't lost control, I'm almost certain of that.

But they will lose a bit of support after these comments by Drakeford.

It's a very strange thing to say so close to an election.

I say that as a Labour man myself.

I am afraid that anybody who thought that being injected with the 'vaccine'* would take us all back to where we were was living on cloud cuckoo land. Ever been had?
As we all should know the 'vaccine' does not stop you from catching 'coronavirus'(whatever happened to Covid19?), nor spreading the same. Possibly reduces the effects if you get it badly. You must still 'social distance' and wear masks (both of dubious effect) even after your injection(s) and other restrictions seem here to stay.
Don't bother booking Benidorm this year.
I predict you will be having annual injections of whatever the next liquid they come up with and other new innovations yet to come.
I've previously posted on the Social Credit system and smartphone id's which may be worth researching.

As to football? I thought the minutes of the meeting that Annis posted on here a few weeks back were very instructive as to the way things the authorities want to go.

Drakeford is, by and large, doing what he is told.

*'vaccine' = experimental genetic therapeutic. All for something that for most of us outside certain categories has something like a 99.9% survival rate.

We need to stop behaving like sheep and stop voting him and his party in every chance we get. We are in a one party state. Just because some hysterical ranters hate all things tory doesn't mean they do not offer us an alternative side to the political spectrum and some of us are not left wingers! They do what they want with impunity. We need a positive leadership willing to push us onwards. We need to open Wales up and appeal to the world outside and YES that includes our British family in England Northern Ireland and Scotland. We need to facilitate travel and traffic in and out of Wales too not spend millions on endless committees to say no to it. We are stagnating and Drakeford is doing his best to make that worse with his lack of positivity and encouragement. Just because we are Welsh does not mean we are all progressive left leaning folk that want an ever larger public sector and ever higher taxes. I dont know if the Conservatives will do better but its safe to say Plaid and the Lib Dems would offer more of the same but with a different colour.
