My thoughts have always been the same.

If the players want to do it, then they should do it.

If the players don't want to do it, then they shouldn't do it.

I think you're correct; and I'm sure with a mix of players racially on each team, there would have been a 'bending of the knee' had one been suggested/arranged

Nothing racist in that; I just don't appreciate it's modern origins and/or the way it has become 'compulsory or else...' in some sports, like football and F1

I believe in the anti-racism campaign and I believe in the authorities clamping down on those who would seek to hide behind their anonymity to troll and abuse sports people of any race/genre for so many pathetic reasons

I'm no racial expert but there are better ways to highlight racism (some of them involving the Courts) and they need to be both used and the perpetrators publicly highlighted when they are found

I see as the link below shows the Scots having to defend their players for not " taking a knee" at Twickenham on Saturday; I dont see why they should have to though!

I think it’s up to each footballer what they wish to do...unfortunately they are deemed as racist if they don’t bend the knee which is nonsense/ slated by some if they do....no win.
Rugby seems to have taken a different approach of the unions taking responsibility and using the tannoys etcso taking the onus off the players .
Personally, I would like the clubs to make a statement saying they fully support individual players making a choice but they are all very quiet on this.

The first thing taking the knee is associated to much with BLM who are political organisation and racist themselves, politics should be kept out of sport , football already has a kick it out campaign,why do you need to take the knee to show you are not racist what a load of crap causing to many problems, good on the rugby players for not pandering to the crap,I've said it before some of Cardiff most idolised players have been black.

I blame game of thrones for all this bend the knee/take the knee. Let the players in any sport make their own mind up and not feel that they will be called racists if they don't. This whole "cancel culture" thing is out of hand & ridiculous.

Time to finish it .It’s now political .Also it started with the knee then progressed to the knee and arm raising ..Where does it end?Also the more it goes on the more a lot of people will get annoyed that it has not stopped and therefore be a lot less effective..

In fairness, I think this is more reasonable than when footballers are doing it.

As I said, I think it should be each player's individual choice whether they do it or not.

That seems to be the case with those rugby players.

I would like to think it was the same with footballers, but must admit I find it strange that the entire team in almost every football team are taking the knee. I would think it's likely that at least some of them don't want to do it but are being told to by people high up in their club.

I think it should be removed as there are many forms of racism and hatred of others in society, to select and concentrate on a single form racism /hatred for so long , is not a equal playing field.

Needs an end date and football globally should enforce racism with life club and international bans if it wants to declare itself anti racism not players kneeling down .

Honestly, I don't know how it gets walked back now unless the FA makes a statement - which they can't because they've gone through this whole charade of it not being about BLM anymore. And they did that all because they weren't able to admit that they, along with almost everyone else, jumped in with two feet into supporting BLM without knowing what the hell they were talking about.

The way I see it, individual clubs on their own can't do anything without getting labelled racist like Millwall were.

Players are certainly under too much pressure individually to not do it without club support. So it's down to the FA and I think they've played themselves into a corner.

I honestly think that we are stuck with it now.

Giving it a bit of thought, I think the only way for the FA to perhaps come out of this with any dignity is to once again change the messaging and state it is an act of unity to all the disadvantaged people in the UK regardless of race or colour. Then pump a ton of money into grassroots support of lower-income areas whether that be predominantly Black poor areas like Hackney, predominantly Asian poor areas like Southall or predominantly White poor areas like Newport.

End of the day, we need to try and get passed this stupid, manufactured and divisive idea that the inequality we have in our society is predominantly based around race and actually focus on what the real problem is massive wealth inequality between the working and middle classes.

(Interesting, thing I didn't know until recently was that critical race theory in its modern guise gained massive traction was during Occupy Wall St which began as a class-based protest and become divided by intersectionality until it crumbled. 'They' literally got us fighting each other, so we would stop fighting them and CRT has been used against us to keep us distracted ever since)

If the FA had the balls to do something along these lines then they could actually turn this shower of shite around into something good.

They won't though, they'll just keep going with their heads in the sand praying lockdown never ends because all that's when all the 'racist' fans come back and to start booing.

The Rugby Unions were lucky to a degree in that they had seen the mess the FA (and others) have got themselves in so could stop it before it begun. Still, fair play to them.
