MY VIEW / OPINION:

TONIGHT CARDIFF PLAYED ONE OF THE MOST IMPROVED SIDES IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP ROTHERHAM AND CAME AWAY WITH A GREAT AWAY VICTORY :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

3 valuable points and out of a potential relegation battle :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff now 11th in the Championship :thumbright: :bluebird:

City were three games undefeated before tonight’s game & now its 4 games, 2 wins / 2 draws for Big Mick :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

The snow poured down an they even had to change the ball to yellow to see it

MASSIVE WIN BY CITY :bluebird: :bluebird:

City played well tonight, with both sides giving their all, battling all the way, a very tough match, with all the players well up for it :bluebird: :bluebird:

I have to say, what a massive change from our players since Big Mick took over, these players tonight battled and battled and came away with the 3pts :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

First-Half: End to end, both sides even and giving everything, a right old battle and bang out of no where Ojo made 0-1 :thumbright: :bluebird:
What was unbelievable, Rotherham had 10 corners to City's 0.

Second-half: City were the better side, with Rotherham equalising out of the blue.

Big Mick named 3 Academy players in the match day squad,as agreed with the club are Subs:Sang & Bagan & George Ratcliffe goalie.

ROTHERHAM 1 CARDIFF CITY 2 :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:
H-T 0-1 :bluebird:

Cardiff City (3-4-2-1): Phillips; Morrison, Flint, Nelson; Ng, Vaulks, Ralls, Bennett; Wilson, Ojo; Moore.

Subs: Ratcliffe, Brown, Bagan, Sang, Pack, Hoilett, Murphy, Harris, Watters.

After 25mins it was Anyone game, even stevens, both attacking each other,

35th min What a great save from City goalie Phillips,
Smith rose highest and sent a bullet header towards goal, but Phillips reactively tipped it over the bar.

Then 2mins later,Johansson saved!

Kieffer Moore hit it first time from 20 yards, low and hard, but the keeper got down smartly to deny him

Out of no where in the 44th min
A poor, misplaced pass from Rotherham, on the edge of Cardiff's area, fell at the feet of Harry Wilson, who passed through to Ojo.

Sheyi Ojo went through one-on-one with Johansson and slotted calmly past the Swede to open the scoring. 0-1 :bluebird:

What a tough first-half.

City must of been smiling to be one up after Rotherham had 10 corners, to City's 0.

H-T 0-1 :bluebird: :bluebird:

Morrison had a shot saved with in minutes.

53rd min : Sheyi Ojo went off, Josh Murphy on.

61mins Rotherham 1-1 Cardiff City (Crooks 61)
A cross from Michael Smith put it on a plate for Crooks and he taps in.

64th min: Marlon Pack came on for Joe Ralls.

Once again both clubs continuing to have chances, City the better chances.
A Wilson corner was cleared off the line! Close.

Rotherham's equaliser actually made City attack more and create more chances.

85th Min:
YES YES JOE BENNETT HEADED HOME, FROM A GREAT BALL FROM JOSH MURPHY 1-2 :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Was it a penalty by Vaulks 96th min?

Hand ball?

This feels like a big win. Rotherham have been in great form.

I think we can forget about a relegation fight now :thumbright:

Great performances from everyone, they all really battled to get the three points :bluebird:

Two wins in a row now and you can definitely see the improvement in the players' performances and spirit since Mick took charge :thumbright:

Perry Ng my MOTM :bluebird:

Great result :ayatollah:

That is a huge victory.

I think the mental side of being able to claw back a win, in those conditions away from home, will stand us in good steed. Two brilliant goals, sublime balls from Wilson and Murphy.

Perry NG superb again, hats off son :bluescarf:.

Onwards and upwards. Mick has instilled some discipline and belief. Even Murphy looks good. We have players that have played in the premier league. They aren’t rubbish. Keep plugging away and it’ can still be In our hands

MM's Cardiff City in form , P4 W2 D2, 8 points equals two points a game, average that in the run and its 73 points. Chances of playoffs are not beyond. :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluebird: :occasion5:

A back three seems to be working well. Flint appears to be cutting out the errors, in fairness as do the team as a whole.

No Bacuna, wonder what the news is there? Wilson is a lot happier, and we also have Tomlin almost fit again.

Very good win, better than the win at the Worzels, with two potential winnable games up next.

Excellent three points which will do wonders for confidence.

Big question is what was Bennett doing so far up the pitch on his own to head that ball in? Not seen him do that this season... :D

I think so as well!

MAN OF THE MATCH: OJO FOR ME :ROT1-2CAR:FT

Tue Feb 09, 2021 9:32 pm

What a game a football for the bluebirds tonight in a snowy Rotherham. Murphy whips the ball crossing it across the pitch and at the far post came Joe Bennett. Also from Harry Wilson who gave the perfect through ball to Ojo which gave him a 1 on 1 chance of scoring and he did. Fantastic from everyone on the pitch a much improved performance from previous games and this can only improve further. Full force now from the team onwards and upwards. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

It’s just such a bizarre season, a little run of results and we’re now closer to the playoffs than we are the relegation zone.

Comforting knowing that we’ve still got Tomlin and Jonniesta (maybe ) to bolster the squad.

Had to dig in first half..2 great saves by Phillips we should have had a penalty for hand ball. Second half cool finish by ojo and great ball by Wilson to put him through.and Murphy's cross was pure class for Bennett..battled for everything.. McCarthy has made a difference and Ng is more than comfortable at this level...onwards and upwards... blooooooooooobirds

No, hit his chest I believe. No way could the ref have seen it & it was wrong side for the lino to get involved

Playing three centre backs is allowing the two full/wing backs to get forward a lot more as there will be cover at the back if either are caught out. It seems to be working well for us and Flint is playing well. Hopefully he will get a goal or two from set pieces soon. With a confidence of wins we might just go on a bit of a run now.

Not really the conditions for good football tonight - or at the Barnsley game come to that. Sometimes you’ve just got to do the basics and battle for everything. I was dreading someone trying to pass it out from the back in the snow at the end.

He looks a bit good that Ng.

As did Phillips.

Suddenly we have a few players you think we might make some money off.

City are now closer to the play offs than they are to the relegation zone. What a funny old season this is turning out to be

Doubt we’ll make the top 6 but top 8 would be a good target :ayatollah:

They really looked like a team again tonight and against a Rotherham side that is playing well and getting results.

I think it all shows Harris should have been sacked earlier in the season (after Coventry away). We may have had more time to turn the season around. Unfortunately Mick hasn't been afforded the time that Harris had last season. Although let's be fair we would never have made the playoffs without the covid break anyway as Tomlin would have missed the season.

That was a real battling display that looked certain to be a draw but under big mick we keep going and nick it. Fantastic! First half Rotherham threw everything at us from set pieces but keiffer and our back 3 stood up to it all. Game could have gone either way really but when you battle and scrap our bit of extra quality showed through both our goals. Should have had 2 penalties as well. As someone else said can you imagine if Harris was sacked a month earlier
