It's going to be very difficult for us to get players in.

If I was at Bournemouth I would be reluctant to join us. Same goes if I was at Villa. I would most likely be interested if I was at a League One club.

Disappointing news. He looks a good young prospect. Hope Harris has other options to look at.

My son knows Jack as he is good mates with one of his best friend from university . He was never told Cardiff were interested in him until an offer was accepted and never agreed to move

Looks like Guilbert is not coming either. Another U-turn! Very frustrating.

To be fair I think it was either guilbert or ng from Crewe and it looks like that is going ahead now

Difficult to know if this is really bad as its not clear how good he is. Most Bournemouth fans seem to think he was ok but not as good as the central defenders they already have and if they were all fit he would be something like fourth choice. Also suggests a lack of ambition if he is prepared to spend the rest of the season on the bench for Bournemoth. Obviously we could have done with him in the short term but once Morrison is fit a central defender is less of a problem. Of the three signings I woul prefer to lose Simpson rather than Ng or Watters.

This is bad news.
Harris better have a plan B

Hope his plan C involves a decent new midfielder and winger

Looks like it's the player's decision if this report is accurate.

I think he means the posts that were a bit less complimentary about the player himself??

Exclusive: Simpson move to Cardiff City collapses after U-turn

Football insider

Jack Simpson’s move to Cardiff City has collapsed as the player has had second thoughts and changed his mind, Football Insider can reveal.

This site revealed earlier today Cardiff and Bournemouth had agreed a £500,000 fee rising to £750,000 for the centre-back.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider the medical was lined up but the U-turn means it is now off the table.

The 24-year-old is out of contract in the summer and the Cherries were hoping to cash in this month rather than lose him for free.

A graduate of Bournemouth’s academy, he has spent his entire career at Dean Court, apart from a loan spell at AFC Totton.

Despite his long association with the south coast outfit, he has played just 35 times for the club as he struggled to break into the team while they were in the Premier League.

This season he has played 12 games across all competitions, including starting six of their last seven league games.

The Championship high-fliers have one of the best defensive records in the league, having conceded 20 goals in their 24 games.

Cardiff on the other hand are in dire need of defensive reinforcements as they have not kept a clean sheet since the beginning of last month.

They are set to add highly-rated Crewe Alexandra right-back Perry Ng after Alex boss David Artell confirmed the two clubs had agreed a deal.

This site first revealed the Welsh club’s interest in the 25-year-old who is also out of contract in the summer.

We’re a much bigger club than Bournemouth will ever be! He probably wants a guarantee to be first choice but when Morrison, Flint and Brown return he’ll have to fight for his position!

Reading that earlier FB comment by Paul Clement earlier about our "clown in charge" not informing Simpson until after fees were agreed.

Perhaps Annis can tell Paul that it wss Jason Tindall's job to tell his own player that they wanted to sell him not Neil Harris'siv

We are not meant to approach him without Bournemouth's permission!!!

Doesn't take much for some to come in with the club bashing comments!

This deal isn't dead yet. Another U turn inbound
