Cardiff City have had a bid of £750,000 accepted by AFC Bournemouth for centre back Jack Simpson.

The 24-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has made 20 appearances for Bournemouth, since signing in 2017.


Bournemouth have accepted a £500,000 offer rising to £750,000 from Cardiff City for Jack Simpson.

Jack Simpson's contract with Bournemouth runs out in five months and manager Tindall had originally stated he would be offered a new one, but has changed his mind.

Hasnt played much for Bournemouth but he is youngish and 6’4” and played once at under 21 for England. Good news and good luck to him!

He only has to play until Mozza comes back.

Prior to today's game he played 7 games in a row this season. We needed a centre back, hopefully the villa lad right back and we can then look at centre mid. Connor houlihane

This lad should have a very decent pedigree and will replace Bamba in the squad. Seems sound business to me. We desperately need a right back and another midfielder. The sooner Pack is loaned or sold the better. Ponderous, slow and totally unprofessional lunging into a tackle today as the Captain. We need energy in the middle of the park.

He has started 7 games for Bournemouth this season so must have something about him.

hmmm...i think most of those 20 were as a sub.... he came on against us in the 94th minute..

Looks decent player to be fair

Played the last 7 games up until today. Bit dissapointed its not a RB we're getting in first, but confident he will be a good signing for us.

I dont know nothing about him but the fact Eddie Howe signed him and he was up against a good squad to get in that Bournemouth team suggests he could be ok. I hope that's not too naive of me

General consensus on a Bornemouth fan forum is that he is good value for the price we are paying but they have better and he is out of contract at the end of the season and they don't want to lose him for nothing.

Presumably this means the board are backing Harris as he is being allowed to sign non loan players for money. Good to see us signing so,e youngsters too.

Before today, played 6 games in a row (90mins) and Bournemouth only conceded 2 goals during those games. We need cover at CB for this season and will probably need another CB in the summer. Only 24 and relatively cheap. Could be a decent signing.

Hopefully he's decent with the ball at his feet and this is the start of a rebuild with the aim of playing better football.

We are at the point though that we just need bodies - the two players that we have been linked with today are both young and relatively low spend.

IF a new manager was to come in it might also increase the cost of players as clubs know that he would want backing.

Listening to Harris earlier, sounded like the new striker is a club singing more than his anyway so signing these players isn’t necessarily a sign that they are backing Harris.

Hes a decent player and young better than the outcasts that we've been buying last couple of years... whether it's his signing or committees this season we've done well with signings except benkovic!
