01/12/2020

What's the team news:

Neil Harris' Cardiff City have thankfully come through the clash with Luton unscathed, meaning the manager is able to pick the same starting XI as he did for that thumping 4-0 win.

We could also see the return of Greg Cunningham, who has worked his way back to full fitness following his hamstring injury earlier in the season.

It has been a tough year for the Republic of Ireland international, in terms of injuries, and as such Harris is understandably cautious over including him in the squad too soon.

But, having missed out on last week's trip to Coventry and the win over the Hatters, Cunningham might well be in line for a return to the squad.

The long-term absentees remain Lee Tomlin, who will be out until the new year following groin surgery, Jordi Osei-Tutu, whose hamstring issue is still keeping him sidelined, and Isaac Vassell has suffered another setback with his quad.

For the visitors, Richard Stearman will be absent and that is a big loss, following an injury he sustained in their win over Middlesbrough.

Alex Pritchard and right-back Pipa returned to training on Monday but it is thought they will not be ready for the clash with the Bluebirds.

Goalkeeper Ben Hamer, though, will return to the fray after a period on the sidelines.

Team news, everyone come through unscathed? :bluebird:

NEIL HARRIS:

Yes. No issues, knocks and niggles, couple I’ve got to wait until the last minute on but I’m hopeful everyone will be fit.

I’ll have a much better idea tomorrow at quarter past five.

Harris

CCFC TEAM NEWS: :bluebird:

Filip Benković its been 7 weeks since we signed Benkoovic and he is yet to start, he is fully fit.

Lee Tomlin will be out for months after undergoing surgery on his groin, January, maybe even February before Tomlin returns.

While Jordi Osei-Tutu will be missing for at least another four weeks with his hamstring issue.

Greg Cunningham is back and progressing well following his own hamstring issue, could return to the bench.

Isaac Vassell has had another setback and its looking like March 2021 at best.

About Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town Association Football Club is an English professional football club based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Founded on 15 August 1908, it entered the Football League in 1910. The team currently compete in the Championship, the second tier of English football.

Huddersfield became the first English club to win three successive English league titles in 1925–26. The first two league titles were won under manager and pioneer Herbert Chapman, who also led the team to an FA Cup win in 1922. They have been runners-up in the First Division thrice, and FA Cup runners-up four times. Town were the second team, after Blackpool, to have won all three divisional play-offs.

In the late 1950s, the club was managed by Bill Shankly, and featured Denis Law and Ray Wilson. Following relegation from the First Division in 1972, Huddersfield spent 45 years in the second, third and fourth tiers of English football, before returning to the top flight in 2017. They were relegated back to the Championship in 2019.

The team have played home games at the Kirklees Stadium since 1994, which replaced their former home of Leeds Road. The club colours of blue and white stripes were adopted in 1916. Their nickname "The Terriers" was taken in 1969. Huddersfield's current emblem is based on the town's coat of arms. As I said, BT Sport don't have the rights for EFL matches so none of our league games will be shown live with them.

There's been a few midweek games in the EFL played at 7pm this season, and they haven't been televised. Some at 6pm as well.

He will tinker with it go back to normal and we will lose this 1-0

IF he keeps the same team and pays the same way as Luton then we will win.

I must admit when the team was announced v Luton I was one of those who slated Harris' choice of the starting 11.

Bacuna at RB
No Benkovic
Wilson out wide (I'd love him at #10)
Mark Harris starting

However I hold my hands up and admit that not only did we get 3pts but the football was actually decent.

I would keep the same team and see if we can build the confidence! :bluescarf:

Re: TEAM NEWS " CARDIFF CITY v HUDDERSFIELD TOWN " MATCH THR

What's the team news

What have the managers said

Cardiff City manager Harris: :bluebird: "As you can imagine, the players coming in yesterday [Sunday] were extremely pleased with their performance, individually and collectively, there was a right buzz about the place.

"Being on the training pitch, it was really positive. It was a strong performance but the same again is needed tomorrow.

"We don’t want to be six points away from the play-offs, we want to be right in the mix. We haven’t earned the right so far, we need consistency.

"At the moment, it's just one game at a time. We have to be at our best to beat Huddersfield."

Huddersfield Town manager Carlos Corberan: "I wasn't surprised by their big win at the weekend. They finished last season really well and their manager has improved them and they've signed good players.

"If you're not focused they can score goals. They have a lot of powerful strengths in attack in open play and in set-pieces. That's going to demand a lot from us."

I might have cracked a couple of cans already but I think we might just nick this tonight and go on a decent run!
