It’s the championship mate. Anything can happen.

Think there's far too much to unfold yet and any one of four or five teams might yet get that last spot; but hopefully us![]()
Nice to see you spelled the headline as Swansea followed by a small 'c'; well in keeping with Wales' capital 'C' being 48 miles to their east!![]()

nobody ever is mate...if the players were good enough they would be playing there already , and more often than not promoted teams go up with a few players that are not even theirs...

Well for contrast, when we went up the first time we had:-
Ashley Williams, Neil Taylor, Ben Davies, Angel Rangel, Joe Allen, Scott Sinclair, Nathan Dyer and Leon Britton. We had a Premier League quality squad and that was obvious at the time.
Comparing that squad to both of ours isn't even a comparison. If either of us manage to go up then next year isn't going to be pretty, unless there is heavy investment - and I mean heavy.

We disagree then. Not sure what you mean regarding pointing to them now? We have been pointing to them for over a decade as some of the greatest players we have ever had at the club, that was long before anything was achieved.
I think it was obvious to anyone who bothered to look, the talent levels at the club was overwhelming and it was only a natural trend given the seasons just gone. We finished 8th and 7th respectively so a 3rd place finish the following season was hardly a shock. (btw we hadn't finished lower than 8th with that team so your assertion ''everyone'' considered us a mid table championship team is wrong... or if correct then that is a damning indictment of the levels of knowledge these people you listen to have).
I also disagree we were the surprise package, maybe a surprise for those that were ignorant to what was going on at the club and the talent we possessed, but they have never been the barometer for anything in life. These players had been consistent for a decade and been playing clubs off the park for fun - so anybody writing us off just did not have any knowledge of our club, to be blunt, and may have been the result of lazy journalism and punditry - who changed their tune almost instantly, as expected.
Looking at our squad now, someone like Joe Rodon is obviously a Premier League quality player - he doesn't need to have played there in order to make that assessment. So to put that in perspective, think Joe Rodon and multiply it by 7 - that was the position we were in regarding the time period we are discussing. We were geared for success right throughout the club, which we duly showed.
Neither of our current squads even come close. Couldn't even be uttered in the same breath. Not sure how it can even be an argument, you are usually sensible.

You also had a top class manager at that time bringing out the best in those players, most of whom were decent. Like you say, you probably only have one or two of that quality now so you would struggle if you went up. Last time, the quality of those players kept you there quite comfortably with decent additions like bony and Michu.

What season we talking about? This one or our promotion year?
