He is very good in the air to be fair
Watch his positioning for the preston goal and the Smithies save low to the right.
Hes far from a finished product and Morrison helps him out massively

Preston scored because Morrison switched off and left their striker, Maguire unmarked. Nelson did his job marking the other striker, but Morrison switching off allowed Maguire to pick up the ball leading to their goal. Watch it again. Morrison played well apart from that though.

I just cant take what you say about some players with any seriousness. It's all opinion, but I feel if you dont rate a player then you are like a dog with a bone and always critisise.

Funny because I take nothing you say seriously at all.
I said he was good in the air and I have not said I dont rate him . It's a forum which is designed for people to give opinions.
All I have said is he gets caught out of position and is not a finished player which is absolutely correct and if you think otherwise then why dont you actually state why instead of just being a knob all the time.
I linked the goal to prove my point which is correct .

Preston scored because Nelson came flying out of the area to a position he should not have been in to win a high ball. He then got beat in the air and couldn't get back which forced Morrison to try and cover.
Nelson had no business going for that ball as Bennett had it covered, it was very poor reading of the game and positional play by Nelson which left our defence wide open

It's only correct in your mind though. You have said previously you dont rate Nelson and you have also said you dont rate Etheridge, Bacuna, Paterson, Ralls, Vaulks and Glatzel. There are probably a few more you dont rate but like I said I dont take you seriously and if these players never made mistakes they would be playing at a higher level.

Thanks for the link, it further confirms what I've said. Nelson did his job marking Stockley and the ball gets flicked inside to Maguire who's in acres of space. Morrison comes running in from the right of the camera to try to stop Maguire, but it's too late. Maguire was only on the pitch for a few minutes before their goal and we didn't adjust to Preston changing their system to two strikers, which probably resulted in Morrison not being aware to mark Maguire, the second striker. These things happen, but Morrison was excellent the rest of the game and we deserved the win.

You obviously dont read posts properly or get things mixed up. If people didnt have opinions then this forum would not exist. The whole forum is here to talk about the good and bad points of both the team as a whole and the players. I give just as many plaudits as criticisms to the team and players.
I rate Ralls highly for a start and think he is a very good player
I also rate Patterson I just do not believe he is a striker and would be better used in a different position
I have always said Etheridge is not as good as people made out and that Smithies was the better choice. That has proven correct but he is not a bad keeper at this level.
Bacuna is just stupidly inconsistent
Vaulks was playing well just before the break but did nothing before that to have a decent opinion yet.
Glatzel I dont rate at all but at the moment he is proven me wrong, he was awful for the first half of the season but hes turning it around.
Again its opinions if we all took the day off they may aswell just shut the forum until the next game

Fair enough but I dont see it that way , I see Nelson out of position putting the defence under pressure by not winning a header in a position he should not be in the first place.

I do understand your point - Bennett was initially going for it until Stockley and Nelson ran into the area, but I don't think Nelson made a mad charge out of position as they were still in the inside left section of the pitch. Maybe if Nelson left Bennett to challenge Stockley and dropped back inside to cover, they wouldn't have scored; but Bennett also had their winger to mark. Stockley could have easily beaten Bennett in the air and flicked it to the unmarked winger to score. I think Nelson made the right decision challenging Stockley, but everyone has different opinions.

The thread was started about how well Nelson played and yet you said he was at fault for the goal. I cant see anyone else sharing that point you made. What else could he do than challenge for the ball against the man he was marking ?
Firstly he was marking Stockley and lost the header which led to the goal, he didn't lose the man as you've said. Secondly, considering Nelson was a free from Oxford, I would say he is the best partner for Morrison and is performing great as just about most others say here.
Thirdly I cant see how Ive derailed the thread as it's about Nelson. Keep clutching at straws

Even in a win, its good to dissect and reflect on what went wrong with the goal. You can bet the players will be doing it.
For my money nelson got caught out and left a gap behind him that they exploited. But both he and Morriston has superb games.
