I think the Premier League And EFL leagues should be finished as they stand right now. And to determin what happens when there is promotion well thats simple really.

Leeds face Bournemouth
West Brom face Aston Villa
And then we have a play off knockout where the winner will face Norwich
The winner of these matches will be in the Premier League and the loser will drop down.

And then you would do the same further down the leagues.

There would be lawsuits flying left right and centre, lawyers would become even richer and a football limbo would ensue. There is only one option void all leagues. It is highly unlikely there will be football until there is a vaccine. All this talk of the leagues resuming is fanciful to say the least.

Well my opinion is the only one I have, any attempt to relegate or promote teams would cause legal mayhem. What then? As for competitive football without a vaccine dream on.So what if Carlos Kickabout gets the bug and he is seriously ill, he is on £350.000 a week and his employer sues the PL or worse an opposing team who find out one of their players has the virus?
Good luck with that, we live in a litigious society a Whiplash Willy culture of blame and greed. My opinion and it is an opinion Sven no league football until September 2021.

I think cancel the league now it’s dragged on way to much. It’s the right and proper thing to do.

I'm not doubting the potential to cancel next season but there is an appetite (currently including the PL and EFL) to finish this season and they will attempt to do what it takes; even if that is behind closed doors

The litigation on that alone (certainly by at least three Championship teams) could amount to over a £billion

I may be wrong but I feel sure that UEFA, PL and the EFL will have things in place to ensure the health, safety and welfare all involved before they allow commencement and is the major reason 'supporters' will likely not be allowed in to watch

It's certainly not as cut and dried as some think, so to make rash statements/judgments on cancellation and the length of such may be no more than (strange) wishful thinking right now

Horrible I know we have to get the economy up and people back to work, sport I am afraid is not important now.The future is uncertain time to think of the really crucial things in our lives and try to help others.

Sport is very important in a lot of ways.
It contains over a million jobs in the UK alone and contributes over £30billion to our economy every year.

Cardiff city alone has 200 employees average that out over the 92 clubs in the football league that is over 18000 jobs lost just in ground staff if it does not resume. Then think of the jobs lost to go alongside that throughout the season

Match day staff
Paramedics
Stewards
Television crews
Bar staff

The list goes on and on . It has to resume to some degree or this country will lose a fortune

agree...which is why a full season will be required not 4 home games for some clubs { I know we have 5 } and then a 3 month break...
the epl has said it needs a minimum of 57 days which means an early May start to conclude by June 30th...not a hope in hell.

Annoying headline in that article, Ajax were hardly certain to win the league, infact they are top on goal difference to Alkmaar in second.

How is that even fair, Aston Villa havent even played the same amount of games as those just above the top 3, relegation because the premier league have put fuxtures in a different order would be oddans totallt unfair.

the aeason has to end, whenever thats possible and the next season is delayed.

If any matches could be played, then they can finish the season

Call it null and void
If not restarting saves only one life which I am sure it will prevent many more deaths then it will be worth it

This season should be cancelled for the EFL. no purpose in playing games behind closed doors, there is no money to be made - only more losses incurred.

The selfish PL can do what it likes and will. If it was me i would cancel the season, no champions, no relegation. European qualification determined by avereage points and goals per game.

Next season should be planned to start in January by which time we MAY be in a position where large gatherings can be allowed.

There are industries which are going back to work now, a friend of mine starts back at work on Monday.

However, in doing so his employer must ensure 'social distancing'. I would imagine that to resume football the PL/EFL would have to do the same. Just how do you social distance 22 football players on the pitch, for example at corners and free kicks?

On news this morning a scientific adviser was suggesting the possibility of test / test kits for players before games to ensure all involved would be ‘clear’ at the time of each match.
Government are said to be looking into this and there’s a suggestion this this could happen as early as next month ( behind closed doors) Government are very keen as it could make lockdown measures easier to adhere to.
Please don’t judge, I’m only repeating what was said on bbc news channel this morning. May not be word perfect but that wS the gist of it.

1 life ? its never getting down to that in a billion years mate.. if you start thinking like that you will never leave your house....half a million people die every year in the UK. do we not drive, cross roads, work , eat food { as no matter what food it is youll find someone that says its bad for something }.. at some point people need to get past the scaremongering they've been brainwashed with and start accepting it like they do everything else that kills you...

The sad thing is that those making statements similar to the one above (Pembroke Bluebird) are demeaning those 500,00 deaths you refer to in making the Covid-19 situation the only thing that matters anymore

That's not to demean the pandemic itself; just to say there are other things going on in this mad world that are equally deserving of peoples attention; but they don't get headlined by a 'needy' and 'deliberate' media

nobody wants anyone to die.. but you have to live as well... said this before...I might get this and die..but the chances are much greater of me dying of about 10 other things this year... that's true and its a fact...I don't leave my home thinking is this the day....those two need a massive reality check.,..

Finish this season whenever. Scrap next season if necessary. The way things are going we might not be able to restart anything until next year anyway.

Restart next season in March when this one was halted? Just a thought
