The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Wales jumped to 1,563 in Public Health Wales' daily update today.
Geographically, Aneurin Bevan in south east Wales remains the health board area with the most positive tests - 590.
A number of suggestions have made as to why the Gwent area has had so many confirmed cases, including the amount of testing, its proximity to England and concerns around the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport.

'Not just the vulnerable and elderly getting poorly'
An intensive care consultant says her unit has "already surged beyond our standard capacity" and is "full of 20, 30 and 40-year-olds" being treated for coronavirus.
Dr Ami Jones, from the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport, said: "It's not just the vulnerable and elderly that are getting poorly.
"I've got ITU (intensive care unit) patients on my ward who were previously fit and well so if you think it's not going to affect you, and you can just go out and do what you want, then you are wrong.
"You will end up in ITU, if you are not careful."
Dr Jones added: "Everybody is working really hard, being very professional.
"We are giving good patient care and I feel reassured what we are delivering to patients is of the highest standard. I hope we are able to continue doing that as patient numbers increase."

If we’re 2-3 weeks behind Spain / Italy, we should do mate. I reckon it’s a case of waiting now. All the deaths etc make grim reading.

Our Government in Cardiff, often criticised, knew the importance of testing during the Corona Virus pandemic and had placed an order of testing kits with a company in Switzerland. When the inept Westminster clowns found out we were 'gazzumped' and 'bullied' because they had no orders of such kits. Kits for Wales will now be received via England!

This will all come out after this pandemic is over.
NHS England started off not wanting to test, then suddenly realised that was wrong. The Welsh Assembly had already prioritised testing and got ahead of the game and then got gazumped
It's an absolute national scandal which just demonstrates how much the UK government worries about Wales. So NHS is devolved to Wales when is suits but when they perform better the UK government pull the rug from under them !
I'm sure Boris said he would look after all of the UK

That didn't last long did it

Bed capacity in Wales 'to be doubled'
Welsh NHS bed capacity is to be “effectively doubled” in response to the coronavirus outbreak, the health minister has said.
Vaughan Gething told an online meeting of assembly members that the work, which includes setting up field hospitals at the Principality Stadium and Parc y Scarlets, was “exceptional”.
He said: “Our health boards will have, in effect, created the equivalent of up to 7,000 additional beds with the plans they have in place for field hospitals or Nightingale hospitals - essentially, step-up and step-down care.
“That is effectively double the number of existing NHS beds.
“That is exceptional in any circumstances and it's been created over a number of days.”
The minister also said the number of critical care beds had risen to 313.

Fewer than 1.5% of NHS Wales staff tested
Fewer than 1.5% of health service staff have been tested for coronavirus, the head of NHS Wales has confirmed.
More than 1,500 staff have been tested to date but there is a promise to test 1,100 people a day from next week.
NHS Wales chief executive Andrew Goodall said over the last couple of days about 200 health care workers a day had been tested.
"Just yesterday we were close to 1,000 tests actually being processed and you will continue to see those numbers actually rising in Wales," he said.
Meanwhile, there has been a dramatic 60% fall in people attending hospital emergency units over the last two weeks.

Council offices to provide 150 beds
Council offices in Abercynon will be turned into a field hospital with 150 beds.
Ty Trevithick has been handed over to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board for the "forseeable future".
Rhondda Cynon Taf council leader Andrew Morgan said: "There is an urgent need for our local health board to create the emergency bed capacity necessary to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“It is estimated that Cwm Taf Morgannwg will require 1,000 emergency hospital beds to respond during the peak of this pandemic, and this therefore requires the local health board to think outside the box in its approach to create this vital capacity in a very short space of time."
Mr Morgan said Ty Trevithick was suitable for a number of reasons, adding: "The space is flexible and modern, and can be converted quickly to create capacity for up to 150 field hospital beds."
The health board's chief executive, Dr Sharon Hopkins, called it "an inspiring example" of organisations working together.
She added: "The support of the military and local authorities is just so vital in transforming the spaces and making the changes happen."

Police patrols to stop rule-breakers on sunny weekend
Gwent police says it will be stepping up patrols in the area to stop people breaking restrictions over the weekend.
With the weather forecast to be good, there are concerns people may ignore advice to stay at home.
The force said it had been made aware that illegal off-road biking was planned for the weekend.
Police now have the powers to fine people who break the rules, which state you can leave your house for essential travel, to go to work and to the shops - and for one form of exercise a day.
Chief Constable Pam Kelly said: "We understand that this is a difficult time for people, especially those that are ill, self-isolating, away from loved ones and of course for workers and businesses concerned about the future.
“The vast majority of our communities are adhering to the guidance and we thank them for that as they are making a real difference.
“We know there is a small minority of people who have been continuing to go against government guidelines. This has to stop."

Newport man 'will not get ventilator'
The family of a man seriously ill in hospital with coronavirus say they are upset after being told he won't get a ventilator if his condition worsens.
Adrian Monaghan, 62, from Newport, has diabetes and had a kidney transplant last year. He is currently being treated at the Royal Gwent Hospital.
His family said it was "heart-breaking" for them.
Aneurin Bevan Health Board said it would make "the right clinical decision" for each patient.
On Friday there was a total of 869 confirmed cases in the Gwent area- more than anywhere else in Wales - but the health board said the decision was not because of a lack of Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) beds.
