UNKIND TREATMENT TO MY FAMILY BY CCFC SECURITY STAFF MEMBER

Good morning

My name is Peter Leek i am 59 years of age never been in trouble

I have been a life long cardiff supporter season ticket holder for the last 20 years plus i have always worked around the cardiff games so i can get to see them

Last night i took my parents who are both 84 years of age

I park my car as close to the lounge entrance as i can as it is dark very wet and windy i walked them to the entrance my mum with a walking stick for balance my dad is also dodery

On entering the reception i asked the security man if it would be ok if after the game i could come back and go up to collect them on which he very kindly agreed

So after the game was over i waited for the crowd to go down and made my way from my grandstand seat

When i arrived at the lounge entrance i was met by security man scott i think his name was

I explained the situation he was not interested

He said i could call them but could not go up

I accepted this and called them

In the meantime he told me to move outside by the door

Now the size of the area in which i was in plus 2 security men and the weather outside i thought was a bit unkind

So i went outside by the door as told in the wind rain and darkness to which he ushered me to the side took away the door wedge and shut the door in front of me

I had to look through the wet glass panels to look for my parent's

To which i walked my parents back to the car

I would just like to say the security mans attitude to me was disgraceful i felt the club i have loved all my life i didn't feel part of

He had a i dont care attitude and to not let me wait inside out of the weather was i think disrespectful to me and made me feel unworthy of stepping into the stadium im feeling very low at the moment the club i have supported all my life is not interested in me the ordinary people of the club

Unfortunately i don't feel i can return to the stadium as i dont feel its my club anymore even though I have a grandstand season ticket till the end of the season

I will not be renewing it im sad to say 59 years supporting a club i loved and thought loved me and my family

Could you please let the security guard aware of this e.mail as his attitude was if you dont like it here's my name i don't care

Your complaining because stadium security did their job correctly?

The reception area is not a pickup point it could also be deemed a security risk just allowing any old tom dick and harry hang around the foyer where the players and officials pass.

I can see both sides of the arguement in this.

The security guard is following orders and has to be tough or that area would get overrun with fans but on the other hand a bit of common sense should prevail and be a bit more accommodating to a person wishing to pick up elderly relatives in really poor weather.

The poster could have organised this before hand with reception who would give him a pass and there would not be a issue not just a doorman

Security staff by there nature are rude anyway not just at the city

The club aren't bothered at all. I had season tickets and got piss poor treatment after relegation from Premier league. Closed upper tier and offered me corner flag seats when I was halfway line. At supporter club meeting whoever did the presentation said all season ticket holders in upper tier moved successfully except one i.e. Me. However they overlooked my grandsons seat as well. They did not give a flying Fxxk and I asked for Ken Choo to ring and discuss piss poor treatment in terms of seats offered but no he did not ring. Eventually got refunded my season ticket money for both tickets after many texts via people who were not empowered to make a decision. Like I said they don't give one. Best of luck.

No offence intended,but security allowed a person to enter the foyer in the Manchester arena,we all know what happened there but to blame the club for this one persons actions (correct imho)and attitude is unfair.

had the person in Manchester dropped his elderly parents off and asked if it would be ok to go get them after the game { event } also ?

and yes, if he is employed by the club its their responsibility to get better staff that are customer friendly.
cant believe this fella was treated so shabbily for no good reason and even less people thinking its ok...its not , it costs nothing to be reasonable and decent...

Why don’t you write the club to find a resolution. I’m sure Choo would want to resolve this if he became aware of it..I’ve turned up late a couple of times with the turnstiles closed, and the Stewards have been helpful enough.

So you're going to stop supporting the club you've followed through thick and thin for 59 years because you experienced rude and insensitive behavior from a steward who might only have been there a couple of weeks. You come on a message board to complain but haven't -so it seems- complained to the club themselves.

I agree, if you give some people a bit of power and they love it, I'm sure we've all come across the odd unreasonable bouncer, who acts like little Hitler!

The OP strikes me as a perfectly reasonable person and not an idiot, who needs to be pushed out of the foyer into the rain!

Threatening not to renew a season ticket after 59 years as a supporter as you don’t feel part of the club anymore due to the actions of a person who if probably not even employed by the club seems a tad of an over reaction

If you just speak to the club I’m sure they can sort out some sort of pass if you need it

I agree with most of the posters above - I generally find the stewards down the City to be a friendly bunch, and I would not throw away my support because of the actions of one person. As suggested above, I would write to the Club to advise them of the situation to see what they say.

Let’s give the benefit of the doubt. The security are there to protect the patrons one way or another this includes not letting in unauthorised people. So in fact you should be proud that the club have taken you parents safety very seriously and above your precious ego. Well done security in my eyes.

Perhaps if the OP had run his own company in the same professional manner then he wouldn’t have been liquidated. This is an absolute nothing story other than some anti Cardiff thread

Every sympathy but in this day and age you have to be carefull.
If there had been an accident going back up the stairs, where would the club have stood?

Asking just before kick off is hardly in advance.

I would assume the furst security guy assumed he meabt straight after the final whistle. If as he says security were shutting the front door this is usually 15 - 20minutes after final whistle when the pkayers and management are in thst area.
Securitu were just doing their job which is to keep the area clear and safe for players etc.

F@ck me ,have I pissed you off or something? You seem to pounce on what I say,but not others who seem to agree,that in principal at least,the security guard was doing his job,albeit with a bit of an attitude problem,please don't twist my analogy,regards the Manchester bomber,there would be enough said if ,God forbid,an idiot with the same mentality and aim of killing people,were allowed in to the foyer personally I agree with the poster who smells a rat,no replies to fellow supporters, if he is truly a fan of 59 years,he must have witnessed far worse behaviour,to not re new after all that time is,in my eyes a very poor reason to chose that course of action his choice I know,but did he re new when we were red? Because that's much more offensive to most,rather than the actions of an individual,which brought him no harm in reality,except maybe getting a bit wet! If it's the employers responsibility to make sure they get better staff,then I want 80% of supermarket staff retrained in customer service,bus drivers to not get antsy with me getting on with my wheelchair,taking a little too long! Luckily I only need to use them occasionally (both wheelchair and buses)there are far far worse causes people face daily,why not write to the club,explain his grievances, and see what response he gets,before ditching the club he must surely love?
