Neil Harris New Style

Fri Jan 17, 2020 3:18 pm

So Neil Harris has been here 9 weeks and he keeps going on about implementing a new style.

What’s changed in the last 9 weeks that we didn’t do before?

Why does it take so long to change a style of play?

What is our style of play?

Why start Gary Madine for so many games then decide he’s so bad that let’s just pay his contract up and let him go for free? Or didn’t he get a say?

Does he just wait by the phone for instructions from above and practise how he’s going to fit the words ‘group’ ‘asses’ ‘takes time’ ‘on going process’ ‘implement my style’ into his next press conference?

There was more to Madine just being shit, he was asked to stop getting involved in fights outside clubs but carried on regardless.

If that’s the case surely it’s a sackable offence and he didn’t have his contract paid up?

I think slowly changes are happening, we certainly have played the ball on the deck abit more then previous lol, although that wasnt difficult

Does it take 9 weeks to get the point across to the players to keep the ball on the ground?

Surely two three days at most?

I definitely think we are playing the ball more on the floor under haris and our possession stats back that up

He paid cardiff bouncers to let him punch random trouble makers.

The change in our playing style is obvious.
It’s plain to see but whether it’s more successful remains to be seen.

It's quite obvious

Peltier takes the long throws instead of Morrison

Smithies kicks the long balls instead of Etheridge but straight

Other than that we have not changed a thing other than passing it across our back 4 a bit more which is more frustrating than pumping it long as none of them can pass and they are all scared to keep it

Took nine weeks for our manager to implement that to the group.

That's not bad going
By the start of next season we might even be dribbling with the ball and practicing short passes.

By the time his contract is up in 2022 we might even start shooting practice if we are lucky

Our new style is Millwall’s (now) old style ;)

Well the centre backs (and most other players) have mostly ( :laughing6: ) stopped constantly lumping the ball to the flanks most every time they have the ball.

They are passing the ball across the back a lot more and passing to the midfielders in an attempt to keep more possession. This was proven in the match again swansea.

There was some very good passages of play in that game although little creativity IMO.

Whether you like it or not, can see it or not or it’s taken 9 weeks, it’s a change from the way Warnock played.

My guess is he’s changing things slowly with the players we have and eventually his aim would be to bring in new players with a view to accomplishing this.

Now I’m not a particular fan of his but it’s obvious that that’s what he’s trying to do.

How do you know it was paid up?

The only real change has been the inclusion of Tomlin who has scored 4 goals and had 6 assists.

I agree, both keepers have played the odd short pass or rolled it out. not a lot but noticeable.
im not really sure how much I like it yet or dislike it yet as I was quite happy being direct up to the final 3rd..and hate the passing for passing sake to get the pos stats up only to knock it long anyway..

I don’t in fact it’s probably the opposite but the paid up part comes from people on here.

No I said what I said. It quite simple to see the differences from Warnock.

The prob is, there is NO Style/Creation/Utter Clueless in nearly every game, especially first-halfs.
