yep, but the way we play we need the ball to stick up there even more..

Would be an awful signing, decent winning headers but when it comes to playing with the ball at his feet hes an average league 1 player

Re: New Striker for Kieffer Moore

Average league 1 player  didn’t know ‘average’ L1 players could put in decent performances and not look out of place on the international scene

4 mill tops, take it or leave it Wigan. If we go up perhaps another 2 as well.

Can’t wait to be linked with CR7 or Messi again

Being serious though Kieffer Moore suits our current style of play.

‘A cardiff source’ wouldn’t have said a thing as proven over the last few windows

Re: New Striker for Kieffer Moore

I'd rather not sign anyone tbh rather than waste a few million, and yes he would suit our style but surely we wanted to see a transition to our football not more hoofball? And let's be honest he played well by winning headers on the international scene he didnt do so well when the balls on the deck

Madine out for a exact replica of madine :banghead:
If we r going to sign a striker it has to be Lyle Taylor from Charlton who is available.

Signing someone like kieffer moore, just tells me the style of play isn't changing at all from the warnock way.
I'd rather keep Paterson and bogle as back up both got a better scoring record that Moore

I think he might be a decent signing depending on the price.
With any footballer, (any employee maybe), having the right temperament and attitude is important. With Madine (who had a chequered past) I was happy to give him the benefit of the doubt but I had concerns as to attitude. Also Moore has a better scoring record :o

Moore has come up through non league and improved year on year. City fans (most clubs fans) want 100% ers.
He certainly talks sense

I have only ever seen him play for wales so have no idea what he's been like for Wigan.
What i have seen tho, i like. He makes some really good off the ball runs, constantly working. What we need is for our midfield to look up and see these runs and use them. Something that Whitts used to do so well, and something that we haven't been doing for years now. We have the players to make this work, Tomlin, Hoilett and Ralls can all put a good ball in, but they need the vision to see them, this is our biggest problem at the moment.

Re: New Striker for Kieffer Moore

This would be a disaster. Won’t City ever learn from their mistakes?

He’s effective at international level as opponents don’t play against forwards like him so he’s unexpected, but at championship level he is useless.

When will City realise that modern day forwards are not big lumps? Get someone like Watkins at Brentford not a non footballing ex lifeguard.

Does anyone at the club have a clue? Who’s scouting potential targets?

He's Welsh.

So it's obvious that SaM rEaN will be happy.

But the fact is he's struggled at club level.

Does well for our country, but never been one to catch the eye elsewhere.

We don’t need any more strikers we already have too many. We need another winger and a mobile CM.

Re: New Striker for Kieffer Moore

We do need a striker but one who can score... having too many crap strikers don’t mean we are sorted in that area

The problem isn’t them not scoring it’s the fact we don’t create chances for them.

Glatzel, Patterson and even Ward will all score chances if their created for them. So many of our fans get fixated on strikers when it’s further back/our style of play which is the problem. We already have a good group of strikers.

It’s also not as if we haven’t been scoring goals this season as we have. Our main problem has been conceding way to many. For example we have scored 38 goals which is only 5 less than Leeds who sit top ATM but we have conceded almost double the amount of them .

In fact we have even conceded more than Wigan who are in the relegation zone. We have also scored more than teams in the playoffs ATM like Forest and the Jacks.

It’s just lazy of people to always think the strikers are the problem and that a new one will be some kind of magical missing link. An incosistent and ageing back 4 don’t help nor does the stupidity of playing an Immobile Pack in a two man midfield in recent games.

A good striker would help even further. At the moment we do not have a striker that anyone could trust to finish a 1 on 1 which pretty much says it all. Our current strike force options are weak.

I believe Harris is trying to move away from the the current style although I’ve seen little evidence so far.
For that reason I don’t think we’d go for him and I hope we don’t.

Fair point. In one’s mind scoring goals seems the paramount concern but keeping them out is also vital and unfortunately our defence this season has been poor (which was avoidable had Warnock addressed this more fully in the summer).

not seen huge change and patches of games have reminded me of Slade...criticism 2 or 3 weeks for possession stats followed by a couple of games of over passing in safe areas to get them up..i think if its going to properly change it will be pre season not now..

An exact replacement for Gary Madine just what we need.
