Only my opinion, but I think we’re an embarrassment on and off the pitch at the moment. The way our club is being run is shocking!!!

not sure you can blame attendance for this game on how the club is being run.
people gave up on watching these 3rd round games years ago...what can you do ?

Because like most FA games there's apathy towards it with teams playing reserve or under 23 teams?

Re: Very poor attendance

We have had plenty of low attendances throughout the years when we have played sides from lower divisions than ourselves. We have had plenty of bad results against lower sides as well. This is not something that is new to long term fans. There will be quite a few on here who watched us lose 2-0 at home to Brentford of Div 4 when were flying high in Div 2. I am sure that there will be even more who can remember us losing to Bath City at home. It happens. That is what has helped make this competition exciting over the years. If we win the replay and draw Liverpool at home, I can guarantee there will be a big crowd at the CCS for that one.

Why should I lay out money again when I've got 2 season tickets for family. Why should I suppsodise footballers wages that I can only dream of. Tickets should be free!!!!

I'm not sure if we offered free entry today many would have taken the offer.

That's very true - there's no doubt that when the draw throws up a home game against a lower league team it's not a terribly attractive option for spending a Saturday afternoon early in the new year when money is probably a bit tight.

Having said that if we had drawn Liverpool or Man United at home I'm sure there would have been more than 5000 odd down there!

Also the absolute shit results and performances in the Cup since the year we got to the final won't have tempted many out of their armchairs this afternoon. Me included I'm afraid to say.

We can't even use that as an excuse for today's "performance".

Nope but thread is about attendance which is my opinion of why it was poor and tbh happens around the country now on 3rd round day.... as for embarrassment on pitch we wasn't last Saturday but was on Wednesday that's football up and down.

Re: Very poor attendance

Sat Jan 04, 2020 6:43 pm

It's about showing loyalty to season ticket holders and not seeing us as cash cows. 13 bucks is fu..... all but the principal should be looked at.

Re: Very poor attendance

Sat Jan 04, 2020 6:45 pm

Fa cup has been the same for years with us, the attendances will roughly double every round we get through as interest grows unless we get a top side at home.
3rd round 5k
4th round 10k
5th round 20k
Quarters 30k
Semis sell out

people do not expect to see the first team in these games and todays line up had I think 8 changes...and of the 3 starters at QPR sol and Vaulks have hardly played this season.. so it was a 2nd string

How many fans will be doing the midweek replay then??

Re: Very poor attendance

The opposition wouldn’t agree to free tickets as they lose gate receipt share

Carlisle have input into prices as they get a percentage of gate..

Re: Very poor attendance

Sat Jan 04, 2020 7:09 pm

Moan about prices all you want.
We have done these fixtures charging £5 £8 kids for £1 and we always get similar attendance! There will be plenty moaning they cant get a ticket if we get through the replay and draw the scousers at home!

Loyalty to season ticket holders?
Take a look at the price of your season ticket compared to other championship sides! We have one of the cheapest in the country!

Re: Very poor attendance

Sat Jan 04, 2020 7:24 pm

Theres some cracking over the top comments here as usual about the prices and size of the crowd. Probably the ones moaning are the ones who didn't go today. ( lucky sods)

Pretty much sums it up, Steve Zodiak

Nice to see the old freeloader Blue Lagoon showing his undying support for the vlub again...

Always harping on about how the club are doing him a disservice not allowing him in for cup games free when he knows there are costs and other considerations involved
