I'm prepared to be a bit frustrated at the first obstacle he will face and that is shifting some of the players on that he wants to get rid off. That's never an easy task as from what I am hearing these players are on good contracts above their value. Unless we are willing to take a drop in value on them we will come stuck.
Then the next obstacle is getting the right players in. I personally believe the best we will get are those good players who are out of favour with their clubs. Then that will not be plain sailing as such players will be given better options than us unless they are in the crap like bothroyd and Chopra were before initially coming to us.
For me I believe we will attract players of a young age who want to prove a point and use us as a stepping stone. I also believe Harris is the right guy to do that as well. Time will tell.

The other version of me is straight after the game after I witness absolute dross and I ask myself the question is this guy any good. Many ex footballers find out they are not cut out for football management by their second or third club.
My fear is we still as a club still have a first team manager who wield a lot of power and destiny. Surely its time for a Sporting director or Director of football. Someone who heads recruitment including the coach. The swing of players between managers takes season to get over.
I believe Stephen McPhail is doing that in Ireland.
Anyway 100% agree with the strategy. Although I think our only salable assets are Etheridge,Morrison, Bennett, Ralls Holliet,Murphy and NML and there will be uproar if more than Murphy went

The problem with that is that if Harris doesn’t last then we’re back to square one almost.
As a club we don’t seem to have any continuity or long term plan. No ‘philosophy’ or style that runs through the club from the young academy players through the age groups to the first team.

Yes very true but got to start somewhere otherwise club will just Bob along mid table at best .. just maybe NH can start process as we haven't tried anything different past several seasons.

I agre with most of your post but I would except bids for any player as I believe we could nearly field two separate starting 11 of roughly equal quality or lack of. Squad needs a total rebuild from top to bottom and to achieve that 10 players must go

I'd lose
Day
Richard's
Connolly
Bacuna
Murphy
Glatzel
Vassell
Bogle
Vaulks
That would free up enough money to sign 3 quality players who can make the difference. 2 midfielders and a striker

so where exactly do you think we will lose these players. most of those have signed relatively long contracts at decent money....NINE in a January window ?
we struggled to loan out Tomlin last year...ended up him going to Peterborough with us paying most of his wages...so who takes these off us ?
not that its going to happen...a weblog article ffs..

City will be lucky to offload many players and this should have been done in the summer when the contracts were either up or the players were told they were to find new clubs.

its a bit to early to judge ..at the moment results are not terrible. and the team keep going right to the end { he will lose this if he keeps saying the things he is though } its the football that is poor..

Luke (2blue2handle) has been consistent in his view and I tend to think he is right; but we have to give Harris the opportunity to show us his worth (good, bad or indifferent) and if we want a team that is tough to beat, we have it
It's a fair while (Dave Jones era IMHO) since we had an 'attractive' side to watch and that sort of goes a long way to demonstrating the tendencies of too many Bluebird supporters who live by results alone...
Malky, like Neil Warnock was rightly idolised for getting us to the Premier League but neither had a team that was 'entertaining' in the way most would like
Always been the same really; win and the fans are generally happy, lose and they're on your case

Yes I’m all for sticking with him and giving him a chance but I fear the crowd will turn if we don’t improve the quality and if we lose to the jacks.

I'd lose
Day - I’d rather get shot of Smithies with his high wages
Richard's - no way I’d get rid of him, our best fullback
Connolly - Defo get shot
Bacuna - no way
Murphy - he’ll come good and potentially our best winger
Glatzel - he’ll come good, best striker we have
Vassell - I’d keep him as long as his injuries are sorted
Bogle - get shot
Vaulks - good backup midfielder
I would add Madine to your list of players to get rid
