CONFIRMED: “ NEW CARDIFF CITY MANAGER “

Fri Nov 15, 2019 9:33 pm

As stated last night

Neil Harris has been appointed as the new manager of Cardiff City.

The ex-Millwall boss, 42, has signed until the summer of 2022 and replaces Neil Warnock, 70, after he parted company with the club last week.

Harris will be joined by his former Millwall assistant David Livermore, while coaches James Rowberry and Andy Dibble will remain at the club.

However, first-team coach Ronnie Jepson and Warnock's assistant manager Kevin Blackwell will depart immediately.

CONFIRMED:

Cardiff City FC can confirm the appointment of Neil Harris as the Club's First Team Manager.

The 42-year-old has signed a deal at Cardiff City Stadium running until the summer of 2022.

Saturday 16th November 2019

David Livermore joins Neil in the dugout as Assistant Manager, while James Rowberry and Andy Dibble continue in the back-room team as First Team Coach and Goalkeeping Coach respectively.

Kevin Blackwell and Ronnie Jepson depart the Welsh capital with the Club’s sincere thanks and best wishes.

Neil will oversee training at the Vale Resort on Monday ahead of his first City match away to Charlton Athletic on Saturday, 23rd November.

Upon Neil’s arrival, Tan Sri Vincent Tan said: “I am pleased to appoint Neil as First Team Manager of the Club.

“I have full confidence in Neil due to his principles on and off the pitch and enthusiasm to succeed. I am glad to offer him this opportunity and look forward to seeing what he is capable of achieving with Cardiff City.”

Chairman Mehmet Dalman said: “Neil is a passionate manager who has all of the right attributes to take the helm at Cardiff City. I know he’s eager to get to work and we look forward to seeing him strive to get the best out of our tight-knit and talented group of players.”

Executive Director & CEO Ken Choo said: “We’re excited to welcome Neil to Cardiff City Stadium. He will work hard to deliver for this Football Club and is a manager with the ambition and potential to lead the Bluebirds forward.”

With all due respect, I hope you do end up with egg on your face!!

This would go down as one of the most ridiculous appointments - no pedigree, doesn’t take us in a different direction and most likely only did a decentish job at Millwall, because he is Millwall through and through.

Be interesting to see how the club try and spin this one as it shows a complete lack of ambition or frankly, even thought.

No offence Annis, but I really do hope you end up with egg on your face. The club have missed a trick here, especially with Hughton out of work. If it’s Harris though, I’ll back him. We have to give him time!

Re: “ NEW CARDIFF CITY MANAGER “

If true

Our decision makers haven’t got a clue. Why don’t they communicate with season ticket holders, are they interested in what the fans want? It’s our club, it’s our money and dedication that feed this club, how about giving us a say? This is so uninspiring and a huge missed opportunity to bring some much needed enthusiasm to the club , and what was the rush? An unnderwhelming cheap and nasty appointment

Sorry Annis but your source is incorrect, in fact the new Boss will be Mark Hughes, a good friend of mine is out in Baku and been speaking someone close to the club who have said Harris our if the Running. Club been hearing reaction of fans and did not pursue.

If fans don’t like it then follow in requesting a season ticket refund. Gone for the cheapest possible option I am not intending on supporting a club that doesn’t even want to support itself

So your not even directly linked to the source but apparently this source is more credible then Annis’ Direct source? Deluded your mate is probably making it up

I’m sorry Annis I cannot back him. It’s wrong on too many levels and I feel the attendances are going to drop. As much as I didn’t back the Bellamy idea I’m just thinking at least the unknown would create excitement in itself. I cannot get excited about this. I bet everyone who hounded out Warnock are happy though?

I wonder who identified Neil Harris as a suitable replacement so soon after NW stepped down. The list of so called candidates is so totally uninspiring. Sure there must be better managers out there who would be interested or are we really that an uninspiring propositon?

Re: “ NEW CARDIFF CITY MANAGER “

If it is Harris this will test the loyalty of a lot of diehard Cardiff fans I really hope it’s not him when there is so much better out there

Re: “ NEW CARDIFF CITY MANAGER “

I’ll be getting a season ticket refund. A chance to galvanise the club and restart our season... we are hiring a bottom 10 manager with no pedigree whatsoever...

I'm not sure anyway hounded him out, looks like he's orchestrated his own move to his one last opportunity, leading a team to 3rd in the SPL, legend my arse !!!!!

Better being out there doesnt mean they want to come here or city can afford their wages and player recruitment costs? More to signing someone than their name..
