About QPR

Queens Park Rangers Football Club, commonly abbreviated to QPR, is a professional association football club based in White City, London. The club currently competes in the Championship, the second tier of English football. They were founded in 1886 after the merger of Christchurch Rangers and St Judes Institute, although their official founding date is 1882 which is when Christchurch Rangers were first formed. In the early years after the club's formation in its original home of Queen's Park, London, they played their home games at many different grounds, until finally the club settled into its current location at Loftus Road.

The club's achievements include winning the League Cup in 1967, and they were FA Cup finalists in 1982. Their highest ever league finish was achieved in 1975–76 when they were runners-up in the old First Division, now known as the Premier League and qualified for Europe for the first time reaching the quarter-finals of the 1976–77 UEFA Cup.

QPR have long-standing rivalries with several other clubs in the London area. The most notable of these are Chelsea, Fulham and Brentford, with whom they contest the West London derbies.

Previous Meeting

We last played QPR in January 2018 and lost 2-1 at Loftus Road. We had taken the lead through a Joe Ralls penalty but goals from Matt Smith and Paul Smyth gave the hosts the three points.

Cardiff City 3-2 QPR. Reckon this game could have a few goals and I think QPR's CB is suspended for this game too.

I quite like 3-1 in this one,its about time we won a game by 2 clear goals.
Come on City win another football match.

Not sure why but there seem quite a lot of Wednesday games now. Maybe to do with them being on the Sky red button

City have to be expecting 3pts from this home game, 3pts at home needed :bluebird:

100% correct.

Some may be saying a point is not too bad but for me if we have aspirations of promotion then a win tonight is a must.
We have to win these type of home games.

I fancy we will outplay QPR and dominate most of the match. Even so, with our recent goal scoring record, it will probably be closer than it should. Going for a 2-0 win, but it may take a while before we actually score.

Take a win and that will do nicely with a nice move up table! :bluescarf:

Marlon Pack sticks a diagonal ball into the box from a free-kick. Aden Flint heads, but safely into the keeper’s hands.

Morrison 1-0
:bluescarf:

GOAL! Cardiff City 1-0 QPR (Morrison)

Tomlin makes a surging run and is, once again, hauled down. He lifts in a lovely ball and Flint heads across the box, only for Morrison to nod on once again into the far corner. 1-0 City!

But Cardiff break down the right and this time it’s Whyte. He cuts inside, looks up and throws a left foot at it... but it hits Lee Tomlin and bounces safe!

Some more nice build-up play from QPR. Ilias Chair is found 25 yards out and has a pop, but he doesn’t catch it right and it flies over.

QPR are controlling the play and having the majority of the game

QPR hit the post

Post! Oh that was close. Some sustained pressure from QPR sees Eze pick the ball up on the edge of the Cardiff box. He bends it round Morrison and it rattles the upright!

A difficult spell here for Cardiff, with the visitors looking far brighter. Osayi-Samuel cuts inside the box and Pack looks like he has brought him down. But no penalty is given...

How are we winning 2 v 0? Football is a funny game.

Pleased to see Marlon Pack get a goal.

He has been class whenever he has played.

Great start to a tricky game.

Besides hitting post and looking threatening they haven't had much in way of serious shots on target.

Could say the same about us! For once we've taken our chances. Still think we have to play much better second half to win this.

Oh yes but we expect it from city? Just said if they score early 2nd half we could be in trouble...
