My View / Opinion
WARNOCK NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR TONIGHTS AWFUL PERFORMANCE.
TONIGHT CARDIFF’S DEFENCE WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE & WATFORD TOOK TOTALL ADVANTAGE & SMASHED CARDIFF AT THEIR STADIUM.
WE WERE TOTALLY SMASHED TONIGHT AT HOME END OFF
I am not going to write a full report as I usually do, but will sum it up, tonight Cardiff looked a different side than they had recently and collapsed to easily in my Opinion against a mediocre Watford side.
I hope what’s happening off the pitch does not hurt us on the pitch.
First-half Watford looked the better team, but Cardiff City looked deprived of a clear penalty to make it equal at h/t.
CARDIFF CITY 1 WATFORD 5
Crowd 30,387
Away Support 1,200 approx
Cardiff City: Etheridge, Morrison, Manga, Bamba, Paterson, Bacuna, Ralls, Bennett, Arter, Murphy, Niasse
Subs: Smithies, Zohore, Reid, Gunnarsson, Cunnigham, Mendez-Laing, Hoilett
Watford looked good going forward and seemed to have the finall edge but not really much between them. The final third Watford looked the better team.
19 mins Oh dear. Deulofeu finds the corner of the net on the edge of the area after Cardiff fail to clear their lines. A really sloppy goal to give away. 0-1
Cardiff clearly looked to have been awarded a penalty,Niasse did well to send in Murphy behind the defence and was brought down by Janmaat inside the box.
Referee said no, but in my mind, it looked a definite penalty.
H/T 0-1
Cardiff just seemed to collapse
Please don’t let the off field heart aches effect us on the field .
F/T 1-5

Warnock has to take responsibility I’m afraid.
Terrible result and we have to bounce back quickly on Tuesday.
Fri Feb 22, 2019 9:43 pm
Stupidity from Warnoch I'm afraid.
Fri Feb 22, 2019 9:46 pm
All Warnocks fault. Dire team selection, especially Morrison's inclusion, and he allowed the team to have a holiday last week. They should have trained together not dined out on a lucky win at Southampton. Very unprofessional decision. Not acceptable to be smashed at home like this by Watford. Goal difference could well send us down.

Knew instantly I saw the line up and with Morrison in there we would get beat..all over the shop..previous games looked quite solid.
Fri Feb 22, 2019 9:50 pm
warnock is to blame for this one. feel sorry for the players they all gave it their all.
Fri Feb 22, 2019 9:50 pm
I stopped reading your review when you wrote mediocre Watford side
Lost all credibility for me there
Watford are far from mediocre there league position, golascoringn and defensive record prove they are far better than mediocre
Some of there ones twos and balls in behind were excellent tonight
We were poor but to say they are mediocre is not right 7th place 40pts from 27 games far from it
Fri Feb 22, 2019 9:52 pm
I love Warnock but his selection, tactics, system and subs were mental tonight. Morrison should never ha r started. We can’t afford to play just two CM at this level and I can’t believe bobby Reid didn’t start. What were Bennett’s instructions tonight!? Was he man marking Will Hughes? He was all over the place! Shocking! Surely he has to go back to the team that beat Bournemouth and Southampton now. Totally self inflicted tonight

Can't understand why warnock made so many changes he shouldn of stuck with what was working. Why fix something that was working makes no sense to me. Don't understand why morrison played didn't look match ready, but then again no one did. Possibly down to everyone having a holiday.

We had three centre midfielders.
Which team? The one that beat Bournemouth or Southampton? Totally different teams and formations.
Fri Feb 22, 2019 9:55 pm
f*cking rubbish
Fri Feb 22, 2019 9:56 pm
We had TWO centre mid, Ralls and Arter
Fri Feb 22, 2019 9:57 pm
Colin’s mind is well away from tonight’s game.
His old mate Willie is about to turn queens.
Colin knows it - many know it and the Colin swansong could see him out the game in total disgrace.
Vinnie is on his arse now asking why 15 mill ... and Colin knows it!
Remember it was Colin who convinced the board to pay 15 mill !!
Vinnie gonna get you !!
Fri Feb 22, 2019 9:58 pm
And Southampton system was same as Bournemouth but Arter came in.

7th and playing football light years beyond ours
Plenty of things wrong with tonight tho
Playing a centre half with no pace with a high back line shading a team with lightning pace and excellent ball playing midfielders was notsmart at all they got in behind every second pass that second half
But hey we ain’t done yet just hope he thinks a bt set up well last twice got it wrong today

No but they are probably the next best team.
Fri Feb 22, 2019 10:09 pm
Sorry losing 5-1 at home to watford is unacceptable as much as they are a good team...they are by no means a Man city or Liverpool
Fri Feb 22, 2019 10:10 pm
First half we should have had a pen and they should have been down to 10.
Was it the Refs first PL game tonight - I heard it was.
The linesman on the bob bank side - was awful and missed a few decisions.
Morrison should bot have come straight back in.
There is an issue with Camarassa , stemming from the Southampton game
Arter pass gave away the 4th goal, the 3rd goal was a break away from a corner and I think Manga was at fault for the second.
Bad night all round, off to the pub now.

Watford are Cardiff with quality players up front
Same size club
They play a similar style.
Big strong and direct
Went with championship players then added a bit of quality
The only difference is that little spark of class (Delafeou) and a goalscorer ( Deeney)
They are everything we should look to emulate
Fri Feb 22, 2019 10:12 pm
Although we definitely should have had a penalty and maybe a player for them sent off in the first half, that could have been a game changer. But overall we were very poor.
Fri Feb 22, 2019 10:22 pm
Morrison back in and we get smashed hmmm

Poor tonight, wrong team & tactics. Read a few comments on here that Watford should have been down to 10 men. What incident was that because I can’t think of one. The foul play n Niasse was a yellow all day, there were at least two Watford players close by & the penalty shout Murphy was going away from goal so again not a red.
Never seen Simon Hooper give us a 50/50 call, worse than Lee Mason
Fri Feb 22, 2019 10:43 pm
Bamba the only player who seemed like he gave a shit tonight, give him the armband ffs
Fri Feb 22, 2019 10:55 pm
Really poor tonite and I was quite hopeful. No Niasse Tuesday so I suppose Zohore will come in,we need to beat Everton.

Are you having a laugh? As soon as the second goal went in their heads dropped and they were like rabbits in the headlights
Fri Feb 22, 2019 11:16 pm
The sad fact is that Watford are way ahead of us. If we survive this season, they are an example of what can be achieved by clubs of a similar size to us. We are way adrift of them at present, but at least they are proof that smaller clubs can be competitive in this league - up to a point anyway.

Heads dropped tonight, after the pen was jot award to Cardiff. Bad and a damaging result tonight
