Saturday: Pressure is on v Bournemouth

Tue Jan 29, 2019 9:57 pm

Saturday is a must win game now.

The way we played in the first half tonight we are capable.

We are going to have to make some noise Saturday loudest it’s been all season.

Re: Saturday Pressure is on

Every game is a must win.

Re: Saturday Pressure is on

Hope camarasa will be fit for Saturday, without Arter, we need him, missed his flare in the middle tonight, arsenal defense would’ve been all over the place with his tricks, flicks and flare, adding Reid and Niasse pace to that aswell would’ve been a nightmare. Think most people forgot we haven’t got arter for Saturday

Re: Saturday Pressure is on

We have a reprieve for a while now:

Bournemouth H
Soton A
Watford H
Everton H
Wolves A
West Ham H
Brighton A
Chelsea H

We could take some good points here, 9/12 from the next 4 would be ideal.

Come on mate, we’ve scored 1 goal in 5 games and that was againest a poor Arsenal defense in the 93m minute, how can you possibly say we can win 3 of the next 4. Especially when we can’t put 1 past a shite Huddersfield at home..

I guess having the home advantage against some of the teams makes a clear difference for us. I ain't saying it'll be pretty or easy, but some of the better performances of the season have been at home. I think Reid and Niasse showed promise today so if we play attacking football at home who knows what could happen. Trying hard to keep my head up in shitty times :ayatollah:

Fair play to you mate, respect that a lot, but I think my and some of the fans heads have gone now, after Huddersfield and Newcastle performance then the accident with Emiliano, I’ve lost most my energy and belief, still can’t get my head around what’s happened in the last week, just want the season to be over now unfortunately, can’t see us having many more wins, hope I’m wrong!

It's doable alright, but we need to be better than we were before the window and we need to score goals .
I thought we looked realistic tonight and in fact pundits agree that the Niasse foul would have been a penalty if there'd been VAR, so we could have gotten a point.
We absolutely need a right back and either a midfielder or another striker , preferably both. I saw enough tonight to think that we've got the makings as long as we bring those additions in.

We need all 3 in but Warnock said he don’t think a striker will come in, hopefully a right back, club have been class this month with everything but if we go down, I think the main question asked will be why did the club not get a striker and a right back in in the summer? We struggled up top and at right back in the championship and they were priority if we went up or not, so why on earth didn’t we get a striker and right back in, if we go down, it is simply because we didn’t get a striker for the first part of the season, way too many opportunities and points missed just from not having a natural striker, just don’t get what the club was doing in the summer, oh I remember... we was too busy focusing on Grujic!! Even tho he wasn’t that good

Guess we gotta take em as we come, at least we have some nicer matches before Chelsea in 7 games time! Always find our club is best when the fans are together and like you said everything with the plane disappearing and the form of late has been quite discouraging but I think there's spirit there, we just need to see how we play and hope for the best

Re: Saturday Pressure is on

Hard to disagree with the OP.

Forget the games after that, just focus on the next game and yes - it’s a must win game.

We were unfortunate tonight with other results, but there will be plenty of times the results go for us and we have to capitalise.

If we play like we did tonight for the rest of the season, I believe we’ll stay up.

Despite the defeat, a lot of positives can be taken from tonight.

Re: Saturday Pressure is on

Anyone who watched tonight's game should be encouraged.we actually cleared balls out of defence which fell to another player in our team unlike the usual"alamo"type defending

Re: Saturday Pressure is on

What a difference a day makes, yesterday nobody expected or cared too much about the result against Arsenal now it's all doom & gloom because we lost 2-1. Get a grip people it's not the end of the world.

It all comes down to how we are set up, dosent it? Look at how different the Newcastle game and Arsenal was. We have goals in our team if we have go. But not if we are being set up to deep and playing long balls. High pressure and pace up front, we have a chance.

It is must win with southampton playing Burnley then us playing Southampton.

These two games will either finish our season or give us a massive chance of survival

Arter won’t be playing Saturday because it’s his parent club, think he’s also suspended with that yellow last night (not 100% sure on that mind) hopefully Camarasa is fit and have NW can build the team around him, Niasse and Reid

Arta not playing he's a Bournemouth player! Hopefully though NW will keep same side swapping arta for camarasa.

The only way Arter will play is if the club stump up the cash and buy him before the deadline tomorrow which would free up a PL loan spot which in turn would help NW get his striker as he mentioned a loan striker from PL in his interview last night

Well it's obviously not all doom and gloom because we lost at Arsenal last night it's because we have been rubbish in 2019 against some ropey opposition too,Gillingham Huddersfield. Last night was slightly encouraging if anything as at least we created a few chances against a good team away from home.

After the terrible few weeks we've had Warnock, the team, team need us more than ever.

We need to all stick together, Tan, Dalman, Cho, Warnock and all of his staff, the team and fans need to be as one and give it our best over the remainder of the season, it's going to be tough but if we stick together and give our all we can do this !!!

Support the team like never before, Warnock and the team need us to help lift the gloom, lets stick together bluebirds! :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Agreed, yes the pressure is on, but this is a winnable game, a bit of luck and better finishing we could have been 2 up by half time easily yesterday, Bobby Ried looked brilliant at times, and when he gets his sharpness back should bag us a few goals.

I saw plenty of positive signs yesterday, we can win this but we need to help the team and support them through this terrible time, stick together bluebirds and don't give up !!! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

I hate the phrase must win in January :banghead:

Certainly a big game though, we have a run of games now where we really need to pick up points while others drop points. We really don't want that gap growing.

Different style of play last night which the players aren't used to. Give them time and it should pay off. Keep the faith.
