About Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, commonly referred to as Tottenham or Spurs, is a professional football club in Tottenham, London, England, that competes in the Premier League. Wembley Stadium will be the club's home ground for the 2018–19 season until the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opens in 2019. Their former home of White Hart Lane had been demolished to make way for the new stadium on the same site. Their training ground is on Hotspur Way in Bulls Cross in the London Borough of Enfield. Tottenham have played in a first (home) strip of white shirts and navy blue shorts since the 1898–99 season. The club's emblem is a cockerel standing upon a football, with a Latin motto Audere est Facere ("To Dare Is to Do").

Founded in 1882, Tottenham won the FA Cup for the first time in 1901, the only non-League club to do so since the formation of the Football League in 1888. Tottenham were the first club in the 20th century to achieve the League and FA Cup Double, winning both competitions in the 1960–61 season. After successfully defending the FA Cup in 1962, in 1963 they became the first British club to win a UEFA club competition – the European Cup Winners' Cup. They were also the inaugural winners of the UEFA Cup in 1972, becoming the first British club to win two different major European trophies. They have collected at least one major trophy in each of the six decades from the 1950s to 2000s – an achievement only matched by Manchester United. In total, Spurs have won two league titles, eight FA Cups, four League Cups, seven FA Community Shields, one European Cup Winners' Cup and two UEFA Cups. The club has a long-standing rivalry with nearby club Arsenal, with head-to-head fixtures known as the North London derby.

Reverse Fixture

We lost 1-0 at Tottenham in October. Eric Dier scored the first half winner before Joe Ralls saw red for a high challenge on Lucas Moura in the second half.

Feel that the game won’t be a repeat of the Man U game, where we completely lose pur heads and suddenly can’t defend anymore. If etheridge played like he did Saturday we can definitely fight for a good point.

I honestly feel that when erikson is shackled spurs are not as potent even thou they have many classy players.
I would be temped to man mark him maybe with gunner if he can keep up as we will need arter,s harrying to put them off their stride.

They have some great players but so did Leeds when we beat them in the FA cup. What we did then was to really get stuck into them. They were also scared stiff of the crowd. So come on City and the fans.

Paul Merson's prediction

The pressure's off Tottenham now, and they'll be like the Harlem Globetrotters. I can't see anything but an away win. You can go to Liverpool and get beat, or other places, but not at home by Wolves. They ripped Everton up, they smashed Bournemouth at home. But then the pressure was on, now it's off - they could be kicking themselves if Liverpool get beaten on Thursday, they could be three points behind.

Cardiff have been unbelievable. To do what they did after getting rinsed by Manchester United, to come back with two clean sheets and a 1-0 at Leicester, you've got to credit the manager, he's so underrated. It's phenomenal. They're out of the bottom three after 20 games which is a feat in itself, but they've got to keep on grinding away which takes its toll as the season goes on.

MERSE SAYS: 1-4 (20/1 with Sky Bet)

Early team news

Warnock revealed the Bluebirds have no fresh injury concerns with Jazz Richards, Danny Ward and Kenneth Zohore their only players out injured.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Joe Bennett will make strong cases for inclusion after missing out at Leicester, while there's a chance Aron Gunnarsson could be rested in midfield.

Spurs will be without Jan Vertonghen, Serge Aurier, Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele and may include youngsters Kyle Walker-Peters and Oliver Skipp

City have come in a little bit from a few days ago after the Leicester and Wolves results respectively :ayatollah:

Not expecting too much from this game on paper and we have an important January to come

But you never know, we've done it before and I won't give up the faith until the rather obese lady is singing louder than Vince's drum! :laughing6:

Victor Camarasa rated Cardiff City's 'most influential' player in list of all Premier League clubs
Brian Owen, The Argus

The search engines of Cardiff City fans got some use when Victor Camarasa signed on loan from Real Betis on deadline day in the summer, but the Spaniard has proven a superb aquisition.

Boasting ball skills rarely seen in a Bluebirds midfield in recent years, Camarasa has enabled Neil Warnock's side to develop a more attractive style of play fitting for the Premier League.

He got Cardiff's first goal of the campaign with a neat turn and emphatic finish against Arsenal and he's become integral to the side already. Warnock would love to sign him permanently.

Yet another shocking start against one of the big teams putting it on a plate for them. Another thrashing in the making. Pathetic defending for that goal.

Why do we do it against the better teams that are going to punish you everytime? James goal was a case for handball but judging by the ref likely to get sfa . :old:
